《EX-Tier Loser (GameLit Fantasy)》3. The Outcasts

While I don't know anything about the Tier in this Status, I did understand one thing.
'My skill is out of this world. But…'
There was something that was bothering me about my skill.
'After all, I am still a Loser.'
Rena who was looking at me silently since earlier approached me, tapping me on my shoulder.
"Will you visit the boys right now?"
She invited me once again.
Because the situation had gone from bad to worse, I couldn't refuse her invitation.
"Let's see the boys."
***
I followed Rena to one of the empty warehouses, not far from the pier where I sat alone.
It was now abandoned since a new warehouse, owned by Rena's father, was constructed adjacent to the pier.
Rena took it with her father's permission, and it became the base of The Outcasts.
Although being gangsters, The Outcasts only had about 5 members, including Rena. It was a small group, but well-known in the area as all of its members possessed incredible strength and were excellent fighters..
When we arrived at the warehouse, the four members of The Outcasts had been waiting while bickering with each other.
They were all boys, two of them were 19-years-old while the other two were 20-years-old.
Rena and I were also 20-years-old, so we were all the same age as each other.
"As I said! S is better than A, you idiot!"
One of the boys, a guy with black short hair, was shouting at another guy with long blond hair.
He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and a black leather jacket on top of his shirt. He was called Jin, one of the boys that helped me when I was bullied.
The blonde one was wearing an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt and white short pants. He also wore sandals instead of shoes. This guy was called John, also one of the boys that helped me when I was bullied.
They often bickered with each other in the base, but they had good chemistry with each other when they were fighting together.
"How can S be better than A! In school, the highest grade is A, not S you idiot!"

"Haa?! You want to fight, you blonde bastard?!"
They headbutted each other and their hands were pushing each other.
"Ah, they are at it again, brother."
"Just ignore them, if Rena arrives, she will definitely stop them. So just stay quiet and watch them, Ryo."
The ones who were talking with each other were twins with dark blue hair.
The younger one, Ryo, had short hair while the older one, Kyo, had long hair.
Both of them were wearing a black tracksuit while sitting on a couch, not far from Jin and John.
"Oi, stop fighting, idiots!"
Jin and John came to a halt when they heard Rena's voice. She was frowning at them.
""YES!!""
But then, Ryo shouted when he spotted me standing beside Rena.
"Oh, Victus! You are here!"
They were looking at us and they greeted me.
"You rascal! You finally visited us!" John stood up and ran towards me.
He then stopped in front of me and patted my shoulders a few times.
"It's good to see you, brother!"
"Ha-hahaha, me too."
All of the boys then approached me and I was asked a lot of questions.
"Oi, you guys are bothering Victus. We have some problems here!"
Fortunately, Rena saved me, and the boys then stood in front of Rena and saluted her.
'Ah, they are still the same. I'm glad.'
They were still fooling around and regarded Rena as if she was a commander of an army. It was good to see that they didn't change at all.

The situation of the world right now could be summed in one word.
Chaos.
All the television channels were talking about the mysterious voice.
Looked like they had also noticed the existence of status. But there was one important thing that we knew from the news.
[A New Continent has been spotted after the voice disappeared. A picture was taken by a satellite before it crashed to the ground because the Earth had changed. The size of the landmass on Earth right now is roughly two times compared to before with the appearance of the New Continent.]

On the television screen was an image of a big island, or rather, continent. It covered a lot of areas and the New Continent was roughly as big as the previous Earth.
The image was blurry, but we knew one thing from the image.
[The New Continent must be the one that the Mysterious Voice, or God, mentioned. The new possibility of Humans, we are tasked to explore the New Continent. The closest island, or city in our country from the New Continent is Chiba.]
It was our city, our place was the closest to the New Continent. We lived in Chiba City, Choshi district. It was located near the New Continent that was talked about in the news.
Because there was a pier in this place, I expected this place would be crowded in a few days.
With that information in hand, Rena and the boys were enthusiastic.
It was our chance. To change our life.
Our chance to get out of our Loser stance in Society.
[The government strictly forbids normal civilians to go to the New Continent. The international body is still -]
Before the reporter on the television ended her sentence, Rena turned the television off and asked us.
"What do you think?"
"Ha! Isn't it obvious? I certainly want to go to the New Continent first."
Jin pumped his fists and grinned at Rena. He was the most hot-blooded one amongst the members of The Outcasts, but we could count on him in a fight.
"What can you do? I bet you will cry behind Rena's back." John answered Jin with a smirk.
"What did you say?!!" Jin shouted at John, and both of them were arguing again on the side.
Looking at them, Rena sighed and turned her attention to the twins.
"What do you think, Ryo, Kyo?"
"Brother, what do you think? I think this is the chance that we are waiting for."
Ryo and Kyo acted as the brains of The Outcasts. Usually, they were the ones who made plans for outings and the other activities involving the gang.
"You are correct, but we don't know the danger in that New Continent. We should prepare accordingly before we go to the New Continent. We now have status, why don't we look at each other's status to know our situation right now?"
"Hmm, I think so too. What's your opinion, Victus? If you disagree, we will look at another alternative."
Rena touched her chin, then looked at me.
That was right, it was always like this.
We trusted each other, and although I couldn't do anything in the past, they trusted me too. They always asked for my opinion, which I never answered because I was afraid.
But now, I wanted to answer them.
"I … I have always thought that I will live the life of a Loser. But now, I think we need to grab this chance. I wanted to change."
The Outcasts' members listened to me. Jin and John stopped arguing and were looking at me with a smile on their face.
I had become the center of attention. Usually, I would become flustered at this point, but I felt like I changed in less than a day.
Although I knew that I changed because of the effect of my newly acquired skill, I was grateful for it. I became more confident, so I could say this clearly and confidently.
"I think we need to go to the New Continent and grab the opportunity for change. It would be dangerous, if Humans were given a gift by God in the form of Status, he must've left us trials in the New Continent. Also, I think the trials would be in the form of Monsters. As he said at that time, he would prepare a test for us."
With a serious expression on my face, I looked forward to the members of The Outcasts.
"So I wanted to grab this chance. I hate those winners. I envy them. So I wanted to change. I want to change with all of you, as part of The Outcasts."
