A small wisp leaves the body of a mangled corpse, being pulled into its journey through the cosmic recycling services.
"ERroR-hhfd3589"
Sarah woke up startled after what seemed an eternity or perhaps a few seconds,it's challenging for her to tell.
"What going on!?" She started to panic, tried to look around only to realize that she had constant awareness around her. " O God" she starts to develop a bad headache " I'm going to vomit" before she could vomit or at least the spirit equivalent of vomiting. Her headache faded, and she noticed she was in a white room, plane, house? She wasn't exactly sure its just a massive white area.
She at least had a body now, she noticed it when she covered her eyes from the bright white. Across from her stands an elderly lady. She was around her mid-40s a had a blue toga that covered everything but one of her shoulders. She also had blue hair and eyes, which wasn't the norm.
"Well, there appears to be an error in your death," she went on to say, "Hmmm, how unusual your soul doesn't belong in the dimension you just came from." She was staring very hard at Sarah like she was staring at her soul. Which to be fair, she was. The lady made some motions with her hands and then nodded at her confirmation.
Sarah sat there dazed at what was happening until she realized what the lady said about her soul being in the wrong dimension. "Wait, is that why I always had bad luck."
"Hmm yes, most likely the dimension was trying to repel you. Like how a rubber band will try to snap back, but the dimension doesn't ever lose its tension."
"I fucking knew it, the world was out to get me!" She screamed while throwing her hands up. She looked down onto her body and realized she naked-ish with her private parts blurred.
"WAIT, who are you, and why is body blurred out. I don't give my consent! I have a lawyer!" Before she can continue, the woman waves her hand, causing her to shut up.
"I am a representative of order, order exists as an overreaching system in the multiverse. We exist to counteract the chaos in the multiverse. I, in particular, have jurisdiction over the recycling process or reincarnation as you could call it."

"Aaaah so there is reincarnation, can I be a cat that way I can rule over humanity while doing nothing."
"It doesn't work, as you believe. I guess what you would call souls, are actually the unique pattern that memories created. When you pass away that pattern ceases to exist, but an echo of those patterns persists. This can create issues for certain dimensions, so my job is to repurpose the echoes so that it can be reused by the world."
"Whoa, so I'm like a copy of my real self. Wait! If the real me is dead and gone, does that make me, the echo the real me know." Before Sarah could begin to ponder the philosophy of life. The lady interrupted her. "No, and that's the issue, your pattern the one that was supposed to have died as your main body died, did not. Upon looking into it, it leads me to believe that you aren't from these dimensions but one of stronger souls."
"Your soul was most likely thrown into this dimension through a powerful force."
"Hmm, I bet I did it to myself hmmm. I was probably some badass wizard or or or alchemist. Yeah! alchemist sounds cooler, I was never a fan of the pointy hat." Sarah explained while nodding her head wisely as if she found the answer to her life problems. Well, previous life problems know.
"I will have to send you into a dimension cluster that can aid you more than I can. As I am limited in what I can do in this cluster."
"Alright so… do u transfer me over like a phone call? Or do I have to wait in darkness, because that didn't feel good."
"There, just walk through that door, and you will meet a new representative. They should help you a lot more." The blue lady pointed at a door that just appeared behind Sarah.
"Umm ok, here we go" Sarah open it, only for it to disappear into motes of blue lights when she turned around to ask what's up, she found herself in front of a secretary desk and a lady. The secretary was as dull as she can be with brown hair and eyes. And with a standard office attire and glass that looks like she took them from an angry librarian.

"Umm hi, that door broke on its own, you need to find a better door supplier."
The secretary releases a sigh, "That just something that was created for your mind to help cope better, just like this room." She said as she waved her arm around, indicating the plain white room.
"Now let's get this done with." She took some papers out to read from. They were about Sarah that we're given to her by the blue toga lady.
The secretary took out another pile of papers from her desk cabinet a took one off the top.
"Ok, so I recommend staying with the same race."
Sarah quickly added. "Wait, are we doing some karma base thing, to decide my bonuses. If so I would like to say that she deserved it and I don't regret it! And I would like to file a formal complaint about any points lost!" She said righteously
"I am representative of order/recycling for this part of the multiverse, why would I care about your human morals."
Sarah immediately deflated, "Oh, well good! I didn't really want to write a complaint….. Sooooo, do I get to keep my memories?"
"You technically didn't die in our side of the multiverse, so it is easier to reincarnate you then break your soul down."
"Sweeeeeeet!"
"Here is a list of possible reincarnations, you should pick human though, it would be easier for you." The secretary hands over a list about fifty pages thick to Sarah.
Sarah takes a quick look at the top of the list to find humans on top.
"Na, humans are boring."
"You know the culture difference is already going to be huge if you choose a dif-"
"It's fine, I got this"
The secretary just sighs and rubs her forehead.
"Um ok so this is a big list, hmm ok I don't want to be a man. I don't want the man bits." The list shrinks but is still massive. She decided to try some mental powers, considering this was a mental construct, to make a tablet. After a bit of scrolling, she makes a sudden realization when she spots elves on the list "Wait! is there magic, like the fireball and ice cream kind?!?"
"Yes? If by ice cream you mean ice then yes. I thought you were aware of this due to the nature of your soul."
"I FUCKING KNEW IT!! I totally was a badass wizard, no, an ice cream wizard alchemist." Going back to list she read a total of 3 races before deciding on a better and foolproof idea."Ok, list turns into a big spinning wheel."
The tablet turned into a massive wheel with an arrow on a tall pole on the side of the wheel.
"Ok nice, now let's SPIN THAT WHEEL!" But before she was able to spin the wheel, the secretary chimed in "You know this decides how you will live the rest of your life I can't help you re-pick a race. You will be stuck with whatever you get till you die, most likely." Sarah looked at her wide-eyed with her lips puckering a bit. Since she is having a difficult time coming up with an excuse that wasn't her being just lazy, she stared at the secretary for a solid minute with dazed face until she found the perfect answer."That is exactly why I'm leaving it to RNGesus to decide my fate, as I a mere mortal can't comprehend such choice." Satisfied with her own ingenious answer, she spun the wheel.
"You know u have all the time in the world to read the description" the secretary attempted to warn her, but it was too late. Sarah had already spun the wheel.
There was an insane number of sections on the wheel that each represented a different race.
The wheel started to slow down before landing on a tiny sliver. Even though it was vet difficult to read what that race was, Sarah instantly knew what she got.
"Aaah I got dungeon core. What's a dungeon core?"
