Rebels with a Cause
In mid afternoon, they came in sight of the small cabin a few hundred yards from a small alpine lake. They watched the cabin for a time, but there was no activity inside or out. Heidein asked Ladamei to stay out of sight behind a nearby grove of fir trees with Nick and Lottica, while he and Bopei cautiously approached the silent structure. Because of inane male pride, Nick felt slighted at not being included.
Lottica was okay with hanging back. It was one thing to read adventure stories; it was another thing to have to live them. Tired, both from the long hike and her almost sleepless night, she was grateful for the breather. In the shade of the trees, a chill breeze reminded her that it was the beginning of November, and they were high in the mountains.
"Ladamei, what’s going to happen tonight?"
"Not worry. Will be fine," Grandmother Breima reassured her.
Lottica sighed. "Worry is about all I feel capable of right now."
In a few moments, Heidein was waving to them from the cabin door. They met him at the threshold. “The cabin is empty,” he told them, but Beilla and your parents have been here.”
He held up a small flight logbook in the padded envelope that had held the missing piece. "I think this is how Beilla was fooled into leaving the pane behind. It appears Deilune and Linda are resourceful and have bought us some time. That is good."
"So, now what?" Nick asked. "Do we wait for them to come back? Set up some kind of ambush? There can't be more than a few hours of daylight left."
"Yes, a few hours." For the first time, Heidein appeared undecided. He spoke a few words in Lebreiman to their grandparents, then turned to Nick and Lottica. “You will stay here, while your grandfather and I do some checking.”

“Why can’t we come?” Nick asked.
“Soon,” Bopei told his grandson gently. Then he and Heidein grabbed their backpacks and headed off to the east. They were soon out of sight among the trees.
"Where are they going?" Nick asked Ladamei.
"They look for clues. Find their trail. Now we rest. Get cabin ready." She entered the cabin. Soon they heard her rummaging through cupboards.
Nick gave the look to Lottica, and she returned it. They weren't exactly practiced at disobeying their elders, but they’d had a satisfying taste of independence, and it carried them forward.
Nick yelled into Ladamei that they would collect some firewood. With that they swiftly moved out of sight of the cabin.
"Why'd we go this way, Nick?"
"Because Heidein and Bopei went the other way."
"What if we run into them?"
"We'll say we're exploring a little.”
"Do you know how to get back?"
"Look around, Lottica. This lake area is bowl. I want to see what's beyond the rise on this side. Then we can head back down into the bowl. If we both pick out some landmarks, it shouldn't be too difficult to find the cabin."
"Sounds like famous last words.” Lottica sighed. “Is this a smart thing to do?"
Nick answered with his own question, "You feel it too, Lottie?"
"What?"
"That we're the ones that have to save Mom and Dad. Our grandparents and Heidein wouldn't bring us here if we weren't somehow crucial."
He stopped and unslung his pack, unzipped the outer pocket and pulled something out. Lottica moved closer to see. Nick held it up to the sun gradually edging to the horizon. The stained glass pane shone like a multi-colored jewel. The star radiating from the children’s image blazed in the sunlight. The figures glowed with power. With strength.

“It’s our turn, so let’s do it the dead-parent way,” he said.
By the time Nick had stuffed the missing piece back into his pack, Lottica was fifty yards ahead, sprinting for the top of the rise where the trees thinned and it appeared as if she could run straight into the sky.

Exuperius [DISCONTINUED]
Terravest. The northernmost continent of the world known by many names of legend, but is most commonly reffered to as Athora, has, for eons, served as the land of exiles. Human criminals, dark elves, grayskinned orcs and dwarves that preffer mining with machinery over the traditional pickaxe alike, have come to call this half-frozen hellhole their home. It is a land of great strife, calamity and crisis, where one legendary tale ends only to begin the next, heroes fall down and villains find themselves thrown into lava. Around seventy years ago, a legendary figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere and conquered three human nations, forming a kingdom worthy enough of being called a small empire. However, at the eve of his heirs ascension, the legend breathed his last, leaving this same bloated, chaotic realm without the pillar that kept it together. Already, the carrion nobility, still spiteful for being denied their "rightful" place below the sun, rise up and gather at the court, each eager to consolidate their own power in these troubled times. Tempers flare, power is exercised without restraint and no one expects the hedonistic prince to succeed at keeping the realm together. Alas, as is often the case with such tales, not everything seems to be as it might at first appear and the vain lords of the realm may yet come to regret their carrion will. --- The Content Warnings are there for a good reason. ---

A Fool's Journey, or the Vagrancies of a Man in Exotic Lands
What does a sad bastard do when fate, literally, decides to throw him into a fantasy world? Solon just wanted to lead a normal life; work, share some pizza with friends, work, play some videogames or read something, work, maybe sleep?, work... Pretty much the usual, rinse and repeat. It was far from perfect, but life was nicely boring and comfy enough. Truth be told, he had hoped it would go on forever, or until he got married, or until the apocalypse finally decided to bring an end to everything. As far as he could tell, though, the former was about as likely as the latter; not very. And perhaps even somewhat related, if it ever came to it. Unfortunately, he saw himself involved in some sort of cosmic fart that screwed him over, brutally severing his life-plan. Or, maybe, would it be more suitable to say that Fate had other plans? Sure, he's yet to find out exactly what those plans might be, but, at the very least, they do seem to involve him being shoved into another world, fighting off a couple of horrendous creepers, and -almost- an accidental liaison with a baboon. Needless to say, the job doesn't come with dental care, and death seems more likely than retirement... Yep, when he got yoinked out of Earth, there were no princesses waiting for him, no sexy goddesses, and no severe Gandalf-wannabes! Heck, not even a bunch of demonic cultists! All he got for the trouble was a bunch of snarky windows and the honest desire to punch whatever bastard happens to be behind the smug System. Well, that, and a few forced trips to the so-called Tower of Ascension. Not exactly what he would have expected but, on the plus side, he does get to do some magic. Though, not quite the wand-waving kind. Whatever. One thing’s patently clear, though, he’s certainly not the chosen one, nor the summoned hero, nor the Savior. If anything, he himself might be in need of some saving... Just what kind of fool does the System take him for? Please do consider the tags. Also, 'Strong Lead' here means weak to strong, over a decent amount of time, not op from the very beginning. Things to expect: decent grammar, cheeky goats. Things not to expect: Harems, a decent sense of fashion.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
