Part I: Fren and Heliray

The gathering of those who have powers to clear huge obstacles in their way are aligned in vast flat ground. Elites, well-trained units, and representatives, wearing with an inflexible armor that shines splendidly when the light rays on them. All of them were getting ready to go on a roll, taking expedition towards outside of the nation from the northern region.

One of the biggest mountain that surrounds the nation was this sacred mountain located not too far from northern Province of Nortolis. The province of Nortolis is the Mineral Capital of the nation, and the second richest province in the entire country.

Vendors outside as seen by many people on the sidewalk selling shiny products. Enchanted Gems that are worth pile of gold coins, Weapons where metals are made of such expensive materials such as mithril and pure iron and were as well made by professional blacksmith, glimmering products such as rings, bracelets, and necklace for lovely couples, and the refreshing environment where almost all people in this province always put smile on their face for everyone.

But at this day, the province is in the midst of army gathering. People avoid going outside, but that’s only on the certain area, only those who gets the wrong idea about the gathering thinking that the provincial government prohibits people from going outside their home, as a result, they get frighthen to what might happen.

About ten thousand units gathered in one place, they were all mages from different province. As Fren Mirosolis requested about lending an army, all governor agreed to it. But there are three individuals in the meeting who were declining the request.

Well, it is a request, after all. Not an order, therefore, they have the right to decline.

Obviously one of them is Heliray, the provincial governor of the Eastolis Province. Ever since the discussion concluded for the first expedition, he has been investigating Fren thouroughly, surreptitiously, without getting caught.

Inside the glorious palace, below near pillar that supports the upper ground, Heliray is rushing in to meet Fren and to convince him to stop his doing.

“Fren! Stop this! You should not risk the army just to get that fragment!” Heliray exclaimed in a stridentent tone.

However Fren did not agree to him.

“Heliray, as a leader of the country, I will bring this country to a much greater place than it is today, just as I promised to our decease father.” He responded in a serious tone of his voice while getting ready to the expedition, wearing his enchanted mithril armor and an insignia symbolizes the prosperity of the country.

Fren is the eldest son of the former Country Leader named Helfren Mirosolis, with his rebellious brother, the second son of the former Country Leader, Heliray Mirosolis, who is absolutely against his brother’s idea, to this present, both were in bad terms.

His older brother truly desires the Spirit Fragment not because he really wanted the country to gain its prosperity, power, and unique resources, but because he wanted to gain power to take over. Conquering is what he always wanted.

That what’s Heliray thinks.

Ever since childhood, both of them were in good terms. Heliray is a year younger, both were born in the same day but different year. Fren who is always have been playing with his younger brother about game that he come up with, had stumbled upon the library. Countless books, selection of fictional stories, histories, and learning books.

It was a fictional short story entitled Conquer. One thing about this book is that there is no author attributed to it, which makes the author a legend.

Part II: Discovered

Information about the past, present, and future. Prophecy that reveals the conclusion. Facts and deep meaning of every things that are presented and written. This is where, the place packed with books containing important matters and information that give significance to those who uses them. The National Library of Mirosolis.

Situated inside the vast interior structure of the palace.

22 years ago, two kids were playing hide and seek, they are the children of the former leader named Helfren Mirosolis. The name of those children are Fren and Heliray.

Fren is first child of the family, while Heliray is the second. As the two of them play, having fun together, Fren accidentally discovered the sacred Library, the place is supposed to be off-limits to those people who never receive permission to get inside, but during this time, no one is guarding the door, and it is not closed properly. Fren is finding a place where to hide, and he chose the library as a location to veil himself so his little brother won’t be able to find him easily. But then, Fren found a book laid on the floor, and the book is opened. The book probably fell from the bookshelf because it was not tucked properly.

Fren approached the book because he seems to be interested in it, from distance, he can see the page of a book with a picture of a man dressed in a marvelous armor, the man in the picture also wears a crown, depicting that this man is a ruler. The brilliance from the upper-right corner of the picture rays to him, the shiny fragment attached to the middle of his crown is radiating, the man is also holding the handle of the sword while concealed the blade inside the covering. Below him are people who were probably praising him because of his greatest achievement in the past, but who knows?

Fren reached the book opened. Fren is actually well-educated despite his age, he can read what’s written. Below the picture, the name of the man is written in a thick lettering, below it are the paragraphs that tell who is the man in the picture, how much he had achieved, and everything about him. He took the book and read, then go to another page to read further.

Few moments have passed, he had forgotten about playing hide and seek with his little brother. Way too focused, reading the book.

He flip back the book and read its cover, the book was entitled Conquer. A fictional book with no author attributed to it [author unknown]. Enthralled the moment he read the first five paragraph of the story, and he continues.

Meanwhile, Heliray was done in counting, it was now the time to find where his older brother was hiding.

The palace is big, the interior structure is enormous. Statues, chisseled pillars, and paints, a well designed walls and supports. There are number of places to hide, so finding his older brother would be difficult, but Heliray knows several hiding spot inside the palace, they never decided the rule about not hiding in far places, but Heliray have already explored every places in the palace.

Well, except… those guarded places, like the library, armory, and alchemy laboratory.

Part III: Death of their Father

“What did you say!?”

A piercing and unpleasant tone of voice, yelling very loud and reverberated, a man enrages as he found out that the library was left unguarded and the worst thing is, it was left opened and someone came inside. Followed by thud by his clenched hand knocking the wooden table consequently after finding out who intruded the library.

“Fren? You mean my son?!!! Damn!”

Shocked, even his child should never come inside the library. The place is either sacred or cursed because when someone came inside and touched any kind of book, they will remain attached to it for many days, months, or possibly years and decades. Convincing someone who had been cursed to let go of the book will be the hardest thing to do, that is why, the library is always guarded for many years.

Fren Mirosolis is the son of leader Helfren Mirosolis, he is well-mannered and well-educated. Finding a spot where he can hide from his brother, he found a door unguarded and left opened, you could see a glimpse of light inside of that room raying to the other side. He came inside and was stunned by what he saw, thousand of books were stored in the bookshelves.

He found a book laid on floor, entitled Conquer which basically means to take control or to rule. He was attached to it the moment he touched the book and fascinated after reading the first five paragraphs.

“Fren!!!”

A man made a clattering sound, swiftly opened the door, and came inside the library shouting his son’s name. He came in too late, now seeing his child is already reading the book.

The eyes of the child became reflectless, even with the brightness coming through the window, his mind is focused into the book, even with the loud sound made by his father, his ears couldn’t hear it, distraction would have no effect on him.

His father decided to carry him with his both arms while the child holding the book remains, he went outside the library and ordered the guard to lock the door and guard it carefully. Going upstairs, he bump into with his second child Heliray who has been wandering around the palace to search for his brother. As they met, he found Fren.

“Haha! There you are, Found you! I win!”

Victorious smile and jumping out of joy, but after looking to his older brother’s eye, he was taken back. Fren’s eyes were frighthening, anyone who would dare look at his eyes would shake from fear. Then after that, his father brought him to his bedroom and left him locking the door from outside.

3 hours later…

Helfren Mirosolis returned back to his child’s room. He unchained the door and unlocked it, and then, gradually pushing the door inside, a menacing atmosphere has filled the room.

Three hours ago, he let him off to the bed while reading the book, now the child is on the floor continuously reading, and releasing more dark aura.

“F..Fre… Fren?”

Shaking, unable to move his own body. His knee meet the floor as the atmosphere suffocates him.

His child, for the first time, turn his head looking at his father with a frighthening eyes, his surrounding is filled with dark magic.

As his father continuously being suffocated, he coughed and simulataneously the blood came out of his mouth, flowing down to his jaw and dripping to the floor. His flesh is being destroyed, his mana core is being taken away.

His son stood up and walk towards his father, extending his right arm to reach him… but…

Cannot contain it... his father’s chest is radiating and trembling intensely… until then…

Splatter!

Blood splashed everywhere, Fren’s face is covered with blood, the chain, the floor, the door, the carpet… and everything within his father’s proximity, there’s blood everywhere.

The mana core of his father exploded.

Part IV: The Start

“I will bring this country to a much greater place than it is today…” Says Fren in a proudly tone of voice.

When the body bursts and the blood splattered all over the place, the last words was conveyed to him.

All units are aligned, flags are raised above. In a wide zone located nearly at the edge of the country, seeings as all mages wearing a shiny pure enchanted silver armor that reproduces light towards somewhere. With the insignia attached on their right arms symbolizing the country’s potency.]

The sacred mountain from Northern Region of Mirosolis Nation is an unapproachable place where most people who stepped upon the line of risk get eradicated, this day, thousand of units are deployed to trek through. The first thing to do as the leader orders is to clear the way.

There are no route to get there, most of the route are too narrow to get through by thousand units, thus, they will have to make a bigger one by cutting trees, shoveling the ground, and blocking some riverpath ahead. Well, of course, they are not going to use inefficient methods such as using regular tools, but they can use tools if those are enchanted or there are enchanted gem attached to it, it could be very helpful and fast. Some units may not need to go through because they are skilled at using Flying Magic, a top-class magic skill. It’s a skill that is “hard to learn” or “pain in the butt to acquire”… something like that. But that doesn’t mean they are not going to help people who were dealing with obstacles on the ground, they will help as well by telling them the right way, what will be there ahead, and what awaits them. As all of this were now the best strategy to deal with obstacles according to Fren Mirosolis, his brother yelled at him to stop his doing.

Heliray predicted some of the worst case scenario that will likely to happen when the expedition will take place in the mountain. The mountain has a neverending period of making an earthquake with great magnitude that also affects the environment within proximity, part of the report says that there are holes in some area. It is unlikely to be just a normal cave, in fact, some of those were newly formed. Possibly some small dangerous creatures created those holes or it could be a magma leaking out. If they are in the mountain already, they will encounter falling debris as earthquake occurs. Heavy rocks, spiky objects will be deadly for the units once those falling objects come contact with the units with intense force.

However, Fren Mirosolis thought of him as naïve, saying “Are you underestimating the army?”. Fren says that with confidence and pride, Heliray is a doubtful person, scared of seeing people die in front of him, and afraid of getting blamed.

What can you do for a naïve individual? They need experience to learn and overcome things they fear.

Followed by those intimidating fulsome words, Fren also tells him a tip of the reason why he’s doing all these.

“I am sure that you are thinking, this all began when I read that book 22 years ago, and that book might be the cause of all of these. But you’re wrong.”

Heliray really did think of that as of now, but one thing he didn’t understand, if it wasn’t because of the book, then what?

“Then what?!” Heliray exclaimed.

Maintaining the composure, splendidly wearing his luxurious attire for expedition, he replied to the point… “It’s because, it’s a promise I made for our father. Finding the Spirit Fragment is what have been his goal for many years until he died. The curse that tainted me that time had gone the moment my tears shed out from my eyes after what I witnessed in front of me. It is my fault why he died, so it’s only fair if I do this for him.”

The last words left for him “Lead the country Fren, find the Spirit Fragment and bring this country to a greater place.”
