《Grieyes Mages - Unknownly Superior Type Magician》Chapter 10: Working out weirdly.

Under the heat of the sunlight, clear sky… Training in the middle of the day at the unclaimed land. A place where my life may end if I become careless.
Swert a ghost who transformed into a human being becomes my mentor. He was kind, he gave me a comfortable shelter built out of firm materials, the shelter is also protected by his constant magical spell enchanted to materials used to build.
Honestly, that was the very first time I’ve seen someone casts a magic that close to me. When I saw him casting magical spell, there is something familiar about it.
What I saw during that time was a floating characters. A writing that is used in my previous life, in the world where I live before. My eyes weren’t blinking when I saw that, and I was gazing at it and felt nostalgic somehow.
But anyway, I was really certain about what I saw, but I didn’t see it clearly enough to fill my curiousity. Does magic have to be always performed with those floating characters?
--
Woooooshhhh!
Air is being blown away as I run swiftly.
Warming up, strengthening, working out. These are the things that I’m doing right now to have enough strength to fight monsters and beasts in the future. It is quite exhausting but I had to do it to fulfill my goal.
Swert told me that I have to build up my physical strength and stamina by training continuously until I’ve become strong enough to wield a sword. He said to do it within four days before he returns. He also told me to take a one hour break after working out for two hours.
Doing this continuously is very tiring. In my previous life, I get exhausted by running in just one minute. But compare to this world, this world has a different way to amplify one’s strength, and the human endurance is extended a lot, it takes me about six minutes to become exhausted even with my frail body.

It’s been actually three days since I started. And I feel like I can run faster than before. I can run about 9 meters per second, it is actually not normal if I were to run in my previous life with such exaggerating speed, but it is no longer an exaggeration in this world.
…there are boulders, I jumped…
…there are spiky earth monsters, I evade…
…there are trees blocking my way, I turn…
Two hours have passed after running without break, I have decided to rest, so I went back to my shelter.
My pulserate is high, and I can hear my heart beating. I am covered with sweat, smelling myself sure is gross.
The result… I ran in a longer distance than before. My endurance and stamina improved as well. I wonder what will be his reaction when he perform that psychometric skill to me.
Hmm? Is his psychometric skill, a magic ?
Well, it is not psychic if it is magic.
Anyway, I have to eat some carbs… and go back training again after one hour.
--
Honestly, am I training alright? Swert never told me about how should I train. The only training I know is how people in my previous life do. Jogging, weightlifting… etchetera etchetera..
Perhaps, he’ll be glad if I did well. He promise that he is going back tomorrow night. I wonder what is he doing this time around. I bet that ghost is hiding somewhere underground.
--
An hour later…
Yeah, one of the most men doing inside the gym.
Buffing up their muscles.
As an alternative for dumbell… I’ll just use a firm wooden rod and heavy object such as rocks. Luckily I found two cylindrical shaped rocks two days ago. To find these things sure is a great coincidence.
Or is Swert intentionally put those rocks?

I also used rope to support the alternative dumbell.
--
Lied at the surface of thick and soft mat, lifting the dumbell carefully while counting.
1… 2… 3…
Ughh… 42… 43…
64… 65… 70… 80… 90…
98… 99…
I am sweating a lot, dripping down to the mat.
100!
I threw the dumbell… and rise up.
I touched my both my arms, and… it seems my muscles is buffing up little by little.
But come to think of it… Isn’t the dumbell getting heavier and heavier everytime I use it?
I mean, it was supposed to be getting lighter and lighter as I get stronger…?
I think, I need to ask him. This is suspicious.
Other things I did… Push up, curl up… The rope I used as a support in making dumbell I used it as a jumping rope and jumped 1000 times.
---
I know… the training isn’t normal… But this world, the people, or may be every creatures here have that kind of intense strength.
Well, that’s what Swert told me, and I believed in him.
…
About 36 hours later…
The ghost named Swert came back with a surprise.
I wasn’t aware of the time when is he going to come back.
He touched my shoulder when I was sitting down above the rock, but the hand of his that I saw when I looked to my right shoulder was something scary which made my body stiff and my face turned pale out of surprise. Then a few seconds later….
“Iyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”
I screamed again after four days.
Instinctively, slapped who was behind me.

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
