《Memoirs of Karas Pesuto》Chapter 5: The Talk

Diary entry 5
Ever since the witch’s betrayal from yesterday, I started to question certain aspects of this continent. The witch didn’t live far from civilization, didn’t make any extreme precautions for her hiding place, and no one bothered to look to see if she existed. This sort of behavior is strange. Everything lines up perfectly for me. I get bullied for motivation, I get a job that is perfect for my expertise in alchemy which very generously gave me the exact ingredients for the antidote of the exact snake venom that they gave me. I still didn’t make anything but it’s still strange that they gave me practically the entire arsenal of beckers which is strange since I’m not officially a full-fledged alchemist, only an apprentice. Why does it feel as if everything is being given to me?
I MAY HAVE THE ANSWER TO THAT
You again? I thought you disappeared for good when you gave me my second life.
WHO SAID THAT I’LL DISAPPEAR? I NEVER SAID ANYTHING OF THE SORT.
So you think that you can just barge in out of nowhere and simply talk to me whenever you please? Aren’t you a god? Don’t you have duties to attend to?
I DID… UNTIL YOU STARTED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY DESIGN OF YOUR LIFE.
Excuse me?
YOU WERE GETTING SLOW, I STARTED TO GET IMPATIENT. SO I SPED THINGS UP A NOTCH.
What do you mean? You have all of the time in the world. You are a god. What’s the point of defying my time limit if you’re going to set everything up for me? That’s not defiance. It’s simply making me a path.
YOU DARE QUESTION THE WILL OF THE DARK GOD?!
I do. Because I’m not a puppet. I’m a human who’ll make his path.

FINE. I WON’T INTERVENE. BUT IF YOU EVER WRITE DOWN A SINGLE SHRED OF DOUBT TOWARDS ME, I’LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU LIVE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE THOUSAND FOLD.
Well, that was something. He made me lose my thought. I have to work on the antidote. Sure the apothecary gave me an antidote, but it only dimmed down my symptoms. I can create something that will nullify all of the effects. Can't stay in bed for too long. Let’s see… the poison showed the symptoms of blurry vision and twitching muscles. The venom was from a demon snake. Good thing that that god did me that favor, if not I wouldn’t have received any medical assistance and I would have died. I should write the antidote.
Snake venom antidote
Ingredients
10 8 leafed clovers 1000 ml of dead slime 3 drops of pure healer’s blood (Not tainted with poison like mine) Horn of a demon snake 4 centimeters long A tear of a gorgon
I (Surprised that they have all of these ingredients. I know the Dark god pulled some strings but this is a lot of rarity items)
Steps to create the antidote:
Using a heavy object, break the horn of a demon snake to gain fresh marrow of the bone and place that same marrow into a small glass vial and close it. Leave the vial untouched until its color changes from black to white from the loss of air. While you’re waiting for the marrow to change its color, take 5 of the 8 leafed clovers and use a clean mortar (the kitchen appliance) to stomp down on the clovers until it becomes a liquid substance. Mix the now liquid clovers with the tear of a gorgon, changing the hue of the liquid to red. Use 200 ml of the dead slime to mend the marrow of the horn with the red clover liquid and let it stand for 5 minutes. While you’re waiting, use the remaining 5 clovers and place them into a separate beaker, and add 1 of the drops of the healer’s blood. Mix the 5 clovers with the blood using 300 ml of the dead slime and a clean metal utensil to the point of when the liquid turns crimson red. Mix the two substances into one of the beakers, and add the remaining 500 ml of dead slime. Let the mixed substance stand for 5 minutes, and add the remaining 2 blood drops of a pure healer and use a clean metallic utensil to mix the last ingredient.

Cautions:
If you use impure healer blood, you’ll be affected by the effects of the ailments in their blood. (Ex. If they’re affected with paralysis, you’ll get paralyzed as well. But permanently) The tear of the gorgon has to come from a species of metallic bulls NOT THE SNAKE HUMANOID SISTERS. (It’s confusing) Have patience. If you rush the process, you’ll only make your current condition worse. Side effects may include weakened limbs, headaches, thoughts of cannibalism, berserk state, self-devouring.
I finished the antidote. No matter how dangerous it is, the Horn of the demon snake must be used to have the same base as the poison. When the antidote is used, it’ll make the poison less susceptible to counterattack. It tastes disgusting, to say the least. I gagged from drinking it. In 10 minutes, I’ll try to eat my parents who are currently downstairs arguing again. I’ll need to stop writing so that I could barricade myself in and not break anything. I won’t go berserk, I’ll just be hungering for human flesh unless I used too much of the demon snake horn bone marrow. That would be a giant problem. It will only last 5 minutes.
It was a disaster. Not only did my feral faze last for 10 minutes, but I also went berserk. I must’ve misinterpreted how long the horn should be. I destroyed the majority of the objects in my room. Luckily, I didn’t break my bed. Good thing I put all of the vials and my journal outside of the room just in case. What’s even worse though is that I ate one of my fingers on my right hand which I use the majority of the time. It’s the smallest finger on the hand which is the outermost finger on the hand. Another problem arose, my father took all of the alchemical equipment. Which means that he wants to sell it just to gamble even more money. Knowing him though, he will want as much money as possible so he won’t go to the apothecary. He’ll probably go to some pawnshop or something. I can’t look today, since the numbness in my body won’t subside until tomorrow after I sleep. I can barely sit, let alone, write. So I’ll end my writing for the day early.

A city built on honour. A downfall built on lies. Divik is a cesspool. Left too long to its own devices, it is a city ruled by degenerate barons, unique in that on the surface, they’re part of the shiny ruling class. Enter the terrorists. The innocent residents will be victims in the crossfire if the last good knight, Colonel Rabb, can’t clear them out of the way in time. 8 173A Slothful existence
"In the endless and timeless nothing, the supreme one, Ahkasah, used its endless strength to create the world. It ripped its divine flesh and used it to form the countless dimensions. Its veins became the tunnels connecting dimensions. Its primordial breath evaporated and became the building block of everything, mana. It plucked its countless eyes to make the sun, the two moons and the countless stars. Its heart became the core of the world and its blood became the inhabitants of this world - the first gods." - 'The beginning', page 1, author unknown. This is the story of two Gods - Ahkasah and its usurper - and the artificial abomination they created that cuts the threads of fate - the undying behemoth. ---- One release per two weeks Also released on Webnovel under the same name.
8 160Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
