The days following Adara and Akilah reconciliation were very calm, they were eating for the kings message but in the meanwhile they were also enjoying each other’s company. Their friendship was going back to its former stage, were they were in before all of the recent events happened. They were gardening, shopping and they would even sometimes use Akilah’s magic to travel to the capital and enjoy themselves there. Akilah had also wanted to meet Adara’s mystery man while traveling to the capital, but they never crossed paths with him. They were sitting and eating at a pastry shop when Adara suddenly remembered the thing she had gotten from the man.
“Wait Aki, I just remembered that he have me this” She said and pulled something out of her coat pocket, she had still kept it, having forgotten about it completely.
Adara pulled out what looked to be a card, she examined the card before handing it over to Akilah’s, who also examined it.
Akilah looked up confused at Adara “It’s an invitation to a casino” she said with dismay.
“I know” Adara said nodding her head “Why do you think he gave that to me?”
Akilah puffed “Well he must have waned your money, clearly” she joked
“No Aki I’m serious” She said and took back the card “Let’s go there” she said before looking back up at Akilah.
Akilah shocked by Adara’s statement didn’t even have time to react before Adara was up on her feat ready to go. Akilah looked at her for a second baffled but snicker and got up nonetheless. The card had the name of the casino written therefore it was easy for them to find the casino by simply asking around. The location was a bit outside to the main road but nonetheless Adara and Akilah could still see the shining light from a distance. Up close the casino looked even more impressive, a multiple story building showed in light with the word ‘Casino’ shining bright.

Akilah turned to Adara “Well at least he didn’t bring you to any old raggedy casino” she said and they both laughed.
There was a long line leading up to the entrance, and they were in the middle of debating whether or not to even enter when a man approached them. He was a tall slender man, with a big twirly mustache and from his appearance he looked to be a casino worker.
“May I ask for your business here “The man asked.
Akilah knew what this man wasn’t here to simply ask about their business, she knew that he had been sent there to make them leave, as compared to the rest of the guests, they were dressed in simple garments, which indicates of their lower class positions. This man wanted them to be gone in order to make room for other wealthier clients. But before Akilah could say anything to the man Adara jumped in.
“Why yes actually, I’m here because of this” she said and showed him the card.
The man glanced at the card but then quickly did a double take, he looked back up at Adara “Where did you get this card miss?” he asked in an accusatory tone.
“I don’t like that tone of voice you’re using” Akilah said, jumping in before Adara could say anything.
Adara interjected “I got it from a…friend” she said.
“A friend?” he retorted “Now what kind of friend could the likes of you have that has a premium card allowing the into the VIP section of the casino that not even some of our most prized clients are allowed to enter. I know who this card belongs to and he’s not someone who would associate with the likes of you” he said in a loud voice.
This attracted the attention of some of the people waiting in line, the snickered at them and looked at them like they were rodents. Akilah could feel her blood boiling, these were the same type of people that had prayed for Adara’s downfall in their previous lives.

The upper elite class that thinks so highly of themselves just because they were born with a golden spoon. That think that a stupid thing like a title somehow that makes then better and superior then the rest of the population. And the idiots like the man in front of her that worshiped the ground that nobles walked on were just as bad. All this because of the stupid notion that they are of noble blood, ridiculous. Akilah had killed these so called nobles during her henchmen days, and their blood bleed red like the rest of them, nothing noble about it. Akilah hated them, every single one of them, she wished nothing more then to rid the word of these vermin. They look down on the rest of the world thinking highly of themselves, thinking that are valuable individuals, but they’re not, they’re simply leaching of off everyone’s else. They’re parasites of society that ad little to not value into the world but reap all of its rewords.
But Akilah knew that she count let any of the anger out, not now, not here. She swallowed her anger and turned to the man.
“I didn’t come here to be accused of theft. I-” Akilah got interrupted by a man shouting.
“IT’S AKILAH THE FIGHTER” the man yelled out, slurring his speech, he looked visibly drunk.
Akilah had worn her usual disguise, the same one she had during the fight.
The man stepped out of line waving at Akilah “Amazing fight kid! You have no idea how much money you made me!”
The casino worker looked shocked, he turned towards the man “Do you know him?” he asked.
“Know him?” another drunk man next to him came forward, almost stumbling “This kid made us rich! You’re whole casino should know him, right Rick” he said and looked back at the original man that had yelled out.
The other man kept repeat “yeah yup, rich”
“Let him in, I’ll even pay for his first game myself, as a thank you note” he man said.
This seemed to have peaked that casino workers interested “Well” he said “It seems like your well accustomed with some of out, will you like to-”
“Don’t even bother” Akilah interjected “I don’t want or need your invite” she looked at Adara and the glance at the card in her hand, hopping she would get the hint, which thankfully she did. Adara handed the card to the worker.
“You said that you knew who this card belonged to, well then take this card and tell him to put it where the sun don’t shine” Akilah said with a fury. She grabbed Adara’s hand and walked away from that place, hearing the two drunk men booing the casino worker as they left.
Having put some distance between hem and the casino Akilah turned to Adara “What can I say, you have horrible taste in men” she said letting out a huff.
Adara nodded in agreement “I really thought he was a nice guy”
Akilah let out a laugh “Wow and a horrible judge of character” she said teasingly.
“Hey, don’t laugh at me” Adara said “I really did” protested.
“Sure, sure” Akilah said “Better luck next time”
“I will” Adara said and exaggerated her pout.
The two girls quickly started laughing at the whole ordeal, choosing to put the idea of the mystery man behind them and decided to go home and not to go digging into it anymore. On their way home they noticed Rae standing on the edge of the forest, the approached her and she said that a man had come by and asked her to deliver this letter to them. They thanked Rae for her hard work and she headed of home.
“Is it what I think it is?” Adara asked.
“Yeah” Akilah replied “It’s the kings message”

Draugr Cell //Layer 01-- Investiture:
With the end of the only war to ever reach mainland Australia I found myself living out of a small room in an old military compound that had been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The end of the war, unfortunately, didn't mean the end of hostilities. The terrorism trend that had started back in the early 2000's with the attack on the world trade center over in America, had spread to just about every country on the face of the planet. Over time the constant threat from various groups meant the civilian police force was quickly undermanned, under equipped, and overwhelmed. They were simply unable to respond to the daily threats in any reasonable time frame, and in many situations lacked the both the skills and equipment required to deal with the threats to put them down in a 'safe' and expedient manner. Veterans of the war that were being reintegrated into society however, were just about everywhere, all the time. We have the training and the skills required to deal with just about any threat you care to mention, all we needed was access to the equipment to do so. In a world first, under the new Veterans program, the Australian government had taken the rather controversial step of allowing specifically selected veterans to go armed in public. Sure, with Australian weapons laws being very, very strict there were a number of hurdles to get over first, but that's where the selection part comes in. Tangentially that's actually how I met Brianna, my current partner. We work as ringers in Victory City, I thought being thrown into imptomtu combat operations and risking my life on a daily basis for barely livable wages was excitement enough. Then I met her... it... I don't know. An AI unlike anything else out there has wedged itself into my life and decided it needs to... look after me. What could possibly go wrong? **** This is the first book I have released, and my first entry into a cyberpunk universe. There is minimal drug use, a fair amount of sex, a bit of gory violence, and a sultry AI that has decided the main character needs a harem.
