《A Fool's Wish》Chapter 7 Page 3 - The king

The meeting had begun and Akilah had stated her wishes to not enter into the kings army but instead she wanted information regarding Dogn. As soon as Akilah had entered the court, she could feel some of the kings men contempt towards her, some of them did not seem to like her. She assumed it was because of her being a low-ranking and managing to beat era, a noble with a high ranking. However after she declined the kings offer and went with her own deal instead, she could feel the contempt towards her rise from the men that already disliked her. Even the men that had been neutral towards her did not take this action lightly, they seem to have been offended by her offer
“As I said” Akilah clarifies “I do not wish to become a part of your soldiers, in fact I have even given up my position as a soldier under captain Navin’s unit”
“So all that you seek is information?” The king stated.
The king had not been what she had expected, in her previous life she only ever caught glimpses of him or saw him from afar, and over the past few years she had built up a very negative image of him, both with looks and personality wise. However he was very different form the picture that she had painted of him, he was neither old not ugly nor was his personality that of a high nosed leader. He was a fairly young man that seemed to be very thoughtful in his approach of things, she had noticed how he had studied her ever since he has entered the room. Akilah suspected that there was more then meets the eye with him, is seems as if he knows more than he's letting on

“Yes, you grace” Akilah replied
The king faintly nodded his head “Information regarding who? Who is it that you value you this much as to decline an offer from the king for?”
Akilah slightly sneered at the kings remarks “I don’t know if valuable is the right word but I do need but I need him, or at least need to know where he is.” Akilah says “His name is Dogn, he’s an arms dealer”
“That name doesn’t sound familiar, dose he reside here?” The king asked
“No. Not yet” Akilah replied
“Not yet?” the king said slight bemused “Then he plans on
“I need information regarding his whereabouts, I have been told that he is planning om entering this city for business purposes”
“Interesting” The king answered
“this is preposterous” a man shouted. Seems like one of the court men had a problem with Akilah’s request.
“We're not an ill group of bounty hunters this isn't our job. The audacity to demand this from the king!” He shouted out.
Akilah did not acknowledge his man but instead kept his focus on the king “had this been any regular arms dealer with regular customers, I would have turned to an information guild with my request. however this man isn't regular nor are his customers” Akilah stated.
“What do you mean by that” The king asked.
Akilah knew that the question in itself wasn't harmful however there was an ominous air in the way he asked the question.
“Well I have reason to believe that, this man is your arms dealer…Or soon to be arms dealer” Akilah answered
The king stayed silent for a few seconds before addressing Akilah “Is that so? And if I were to ask where you got this information from, would you reveal you sources?”

“Oh I just heard it through the grapevine. But the grapevine are dying out, you grace I need new ways”
“So what is it you want exactly?” The king asked
“I want to be informed as soon as Dogn enters this town, your grace
“We are not you’re” Someone was just about to object what Akilah had said, but the king raised his hand again
“What is your business with this man?” He asked
Akilah stayed silent for a while before replying
“My business you say” Akilah replied “Simply but his actions have in the past negatively affected me, therefore I plan to settle my score with him”
“This is absurd!” a court man shouted out “You’re here to get information regarding a man that has hurt you in the past. This is a waste of the king's time. Just because you won one fight doesn’t mean you get to strut in here and make the crazy demands”
Akilah had for the first time looked away from the king and faced the man that was talking “you’re speak a good game for somebody that I”
“Are you threatening me” the man said “I can't throw this bastard out at once these are no brains no other matters”
“Now” the king said and raised his hand to settle the man “You’re coming in here with high demands” he continues “Not saying that that is a bad thing but you need to understand here. Me asking you to join my forces was a favor not a plea. However I feel like this can still go according to my original plan with some minor tweaks” He says and looks at Akilah with a proud face.
‘Feels like this was his plan all along’ Akilah thinks.
“Okay deal” Akilah says, and with that a smile comes across the kings face.

Witness the dawn of an era. 🧙🧙🧙 This is a story I'd written a few years back, and I figured it's a waste to just let it sit around. Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
