《A Fool's Wish》Chapter 6 Page 7 - Lies

When Akilah got home Adara had practically jumped her, bombarding her with a bunch of questions about the expedition and how it went. Akilah, of course, lied to her about what had actually happened during the expedition, instead to her a much more watered down version of the events.
Night came and Adara quickly feel asleep, she had exerted a lot of energy when Akilah came home, it was obvious that she hadn’t gone out and socialized in a while. Akilah, however, laid awake that night thinking of everything that had happened. Truth be told Akilah did feel guilty about the fact that she has been lying to Adara a lot more recently, and for keeping her cooped up here. But she silenced the guilt with the idea that this was for Adara’s own good, she wasn’t doing this to harm her but to protect her, and that made her feel a bit better about her deception.
Akilah now stood in front of another challenge, how would she be able to teleport to Dula and back without Adara finding it out about it. She tried to come up with different scenarios but concluded that there’s no way she could get away with it. Therefore she decided to go with a different approach; first thing tomorrow though, right now she desperately needed to sleep. her body still ached from sleeping on the solid ground the entire night, she needed a good night's rest to recover her energy to face tomorrow's challenges.
Akilah awoke to the sound of Adara preparing breakfast, this reminded her of the first day when she came back, a nostalgic feeling swept her up ‘Boy time sure does fly by fast’ she thought as she went downstairs to the kitchen.
“Dara do you want to go out?” Akilah asked

“What do you mean Aki, I told you I already did out grocery shopping” Adara replied as she place their breakfast food on their plats “By the way I still have some money left” she said and pointed at a bag of coins on the counter.
Before Akilah went of the expedition, she had left Adara money, not real money of course but again Adara didn’t know, a sting of guilt hit Akilah again but she quickly shook it of and continued the conversation.
“No not that, I mean like real out, outside of place and this village”
Adara looked at her with eyes wide open in disbelief “Wha-What are you saying Aki?”
“I’m saying I feel like we should get out you know. I don’t feel like it’s fair that get to go on a expedient and discovery new places while you were stick here. So, I’m making it up to you” She said and gave Adara a huge smile, a fake smile of course, because she knew that everything coming out of her mouth was lies “Let’s go somewhere nice”
“I-I don’t know what to say” Adara muttered
“You don’t wanna go?” Akilah asked
“No of couse I wanna go, but where to, it’s been so long that I no longer remember and-” Before Adara could go on any longer Akilah interjected
“Dula, let’s go to Dula”
“Dula, I don’t think I’ve heard about that place before” Adara said “What was it’s old name?”
“It was previously named Aneketta” Akilah explained “you might have not heard of it I guess it's a bit close to the capital”
“Oh, right I remember now” Adara said and jokingly hit the side of her head “I honesty can’t keep up with the changes”
The changes that Adara was talking about was that their homeland had gone through a change, from an empire to a kingdom. The Kingdom of Vela used to be a big empire. However under the rule of the last king the empire fell into ruins, that’s when this new king came into power. He had fought the emperor and taken over parts of the old empire, the new kingdom of Arvenes after the new king Alvaro. Alvaro was also Adara’s soon-to-be husband that sentenced her to death in her previous life.

“Yeah, I didn’t know either the other solider told me” Yet another lie Akilah told “They said that it’s a really fun place to visit” Akilah said and tried her hardest to convince Adara “So what do you say Dara, shall we go?”
“I mean…Sure why not” Adara said with a giggle and look at Akilah with glee “Let’s finally leave this place and travel around Aki” she said with a gentle smile.

The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.

The Adventures Of Heegan, Bleegan, Hoogan, and Bloogan: The Search For The Enchanted Toad Of Delarmir
This is a tale of four young goblin brothers, whose adventures and calamities are told as legends and jokes throughout the land. But they were first inspired by legends they heard, before ascending into one themselves; a reminder that simple beginnings can be the start of something great. Written for my D&D 5e party after they demanded I write an actual story about a children's book they found in one of our sessions, so I wrote it as it would appear in game as a childrens story. I took a very different approach on writing it, so do not be too disappointed when you find out it's not written at first grade reading level. Feedback is much appreciated, as I have never produced anything like this and I do hope I manage to entertain at least a few of you. New chapter releases to be within 3-5 days of one another (Work is now complete, do not expect new chapters).
