Hello! I am Petrinicola, a young mermaid.

Reaching the age of 15, which is considered the rightful one to be called adult, I was let free into the big, big ocean to do as I please.

Most mermaids when turn adults, decide to stay with the tribe but few move out, like me! I wanted to roam in the big, big ocean and make many fish friends.

Today, as I was happily roaming around in a small part of the big, big ocean, I witnessed a strange object.

I hid myself in a school of fishes and observed. There were many things a mermaid had to be wary of. First the humans. They were lustful and vile creatures, never missing out on an opportunity to kidnap a good looking mermaid, like me! But seeing a human this deep inside the ocean was just impossible. Why obviously they didn't have gills like us silly~.

There were other threats though. Like those dreadful sharks. They loved the taste of human flesh and thus, craved us too for our upper body resembled that of a human. We could be considered a rare delicacy for them.

Then there were the whales, the extremely arrongant ones who didn't give a shit about someone else's personal space. Though not all of them were like that. I had the opportunity to meet one and even though her humour was inappropriate in numerous ways, she was a good person to be close to.

Then there are other carnivorous fishes, some dangerous plants and few other water-tribes that are hostile.

But back to the strange object!

Since it wasn't moving, I moved closer, little by little.

I could make out that it was some sort of a cubical thingy, maybe an extremely rare creature I hadn't heard about?

Then I noticed another one at a distance from this one towards the ocean floor.

That wasn't there before?

I was positive that the identical thingy wasn't previously there.

When I got my attention back to the original one, it had disappeared!

What a strange creature.

My curiosity was immediately peaked.

Still being wary of any possible dangers, I made my way over to the creature.

It didn't show any suspicious movements so I got closer.

I was close enough when I saw another mermaid trapped inside it!

No, I have to save her!

I immediately closed in with my superior speed and noticed... The other mermaid was closing in on me...

Huh?

I slowly got closer and touched the creature and the mermaid inside it seemed to reach out to touch my hand.

It seemed that either the creature was playing a trick on me, or the other mermaid was a very good imitator.

I raised my hand with a jerk and the other mermaid did it too.

To make the final check, I pinched my nipple and the other mermaid did even that too!!

I was sure now, that it was in fact a reflection like the one you can sometimes see over the surface of the water.

Suddenly, there was a huge suction of water right below me and I was sucked in as well.

"Are you okay, can you breath?"

I landed on something hard and struggled for a moment at the sudden shift in breathing from gills to lungs.

"Are you okay? Can you speak?"

As I somewhat stabilized, I looked to where I had landed.

"Eeeek!"

There was nothing there!! I was standing on nothing and there seemed to be vast blueness down below that spread infinitely.

"Don't worry, you're not going to fall."

Out of nowhere, I heard a voice and a warm touch on my shoulder. I looked over to what I seemed to have grabbed on to in my earlier moment of panic.

"H-H-H-Human!"

How did I get caught by a Human!?

I immediately seperated and took a fighting stance. Mermaids were practically useless in fights outside of water due to not having feet but I would rather fight and die than be captured and used as a toy!

"So you can breathe outside water too? Are you a mermaid, by any chance?"

The human didn't look unfazed and made a calm analysis.

"So what if I am!"

I made sure to show that I had no intentions to be taken so easily.

"I see, so mermaids are amphibious. I'm glad."

"Amphi..what?"

The human seemed to have a screw loose somewhere.

"Ah, it's a term used to refer to people like you who can breathe both in and out of water."

I narrowed my eyes at the human. He seemed to be friendly, but if I gave in now, I'd be taking a huge risk.

"Where have you brought me to, human!? I demand you return me at once!"

"There's no need to be so aggressive. We can talk, can't we?"

"I have nothing to tell to a human!"

I had to be adamant here. If I gave him the slightest of opportunities, he would stuff me in a sack and take me away!

"Okay, just me confirm one thing atleast."

"What is it!?"

"You couldn't see through my magic and neither were you playing with your breasts to entice me to come out?"

Before I could finish, whatever was holding me up disappeared and I found myself back in the water. I struggled again at the sudden shift from lungs to gills again.

Huh? Why would he...?

Even though I should have been going crazy with joy at being able to make it back safely, somehow I felt sad instead.

He let me go.....

If he wanted to kidnap me, he would have atleast tried harder. It couldn't be that he wanted to be friends for real?

My heartbeat spiked at the thought.

How could I be so cruel?

To deny someone who extended a hand in friendship.... It was the cruelest thing of all.

I...I...

What was I to do?

I have to find him!

I decided to make amends. It was only the right thing to do.

My heart was still beating fast as I frantically looked for him. And even though I did, in my heart's of hearts I knew.. I knew I would never find him.. That would have been the rightful punishment for one as cruel as me.

But I did find him. Even deeper into the ocean, ever so close to the bottom of it, was the strange creature again.

There he is!

I rushed in a moment of excitement towards the creature but it disappeared. But I knew this trick! I dived even deeper and found it again!

I moved at my fastest speed but eventually I started to slow down as new thoughts came across my mind.

Will he want to see me again?

It was very possible that he wouldn't.

What do I even say to him?

Nothing came to mind.

Would he even come out again?

.....

Somehow I found my pace slowed down to a crawl.

Even when I was taking all the time in the world to get to the cube, it didn't disappear again. Somehow, I felt that the Human had sensed my presence and was waiting for me to make the first move.

Eventually, I reached it, and what I saw was the body of a beautiful woman.

That's it!!!!!

I pinched my nipples again, this time both of them.

The next thing I knew, I was standing in the air again with the Human in front of me.

This time, though, I had prepared my lungs, as I knew what to expect, so I didn't have a coughing fit.

The Human looked upon me with amused eyes.

I apologised earnestly.

"Its alright. I guess the Humans are famous even under the water?"

"Right you are. The young ones are told to go to sleep if they don't want a Human to kidnap them."

I smiled at the normal conversation we could have.

"Can we be friends?"

I finally said it. Even though I had those earlier thoughts, I really believed the current atmosphere to be much better.

"Hmm.."

The Human seemed to be thinking about something.

"What's in it for me?"

He asked after a moment of deliberation.

"What do you mean?"

I didn't quite get what he implied by those words.

"What I'm saying is.. You wrongfully accused me of kidnapping earlier and 'demanded' to be returned immediately. Shouldn't there be some benefit for me, let's say, as an incentive, to make me forget all that?"

He's right.

I had humiliated him and he let me go without a word of rebuttal. For me to now expect him to overlook it, it was certainly too presumptuous of me.

I forgot to retract my teeth!

We mermaids had the lower body of a fish and our hands were webbed to allow better swimming. Thus, our only method of attacking our prey was our teeth and hence, they were incredibly sharp, like that of a shark.

What made us different though, was that we could make our teeth go in and out at will.

Retracting our teeth made our mouths extremely smooth and this was part of the reason why we were said to be the best at giving blowjobs.
