A four legged creature has step through a certain entrance. As it passes through, there is a wobbling or fluctuation of magical energy like a thin film of soap bubble with rainbow colours. Entering the unknown, the sight changes instantly from a land of gloominess full of negative energy into a land full of fresh life energy, short grasses and plants filled the ground, various friendly grass eating animals walk the land and forest in the far end encircling a mountain where mist covering its peak. Exiting a portal, Mousteria eyes started to get wet and tears slowly flow down. This is a place of dream where no scary creature, no need to stay alert, no need run away, and foods are everywhere. The land of joy for all herbivores. It quickly take a bit on a fruit which grow from vines crawling the ground called water bubble berry. The fruit pops in its mouth flowing out a lots of sweet and a little tangy juice giving of a refreshing feeling. The fruit is a good source of water content, nutrient and fibres. This place has various plants such as this all over the ground in a sense. Mousteria felt great joy and excitement like it found a new home.

However, it remembers this place appear out of nowhere and the blinding creature which is somewhere in here. It hesitated for a moment but finally choose to throw the thought into a corner of its brain. As long as it don't run into ‘It’ again and ‘It’ seems not to pay any attention to Mousteria. Mousteria start to hop around full of energy into the future where becoming a plump mouse lazing around all day is not a dream.

“Maybe I can visit the mountain over there later ~chik”

Adam walking slowly and in a relax fashion. There is a burning torch in his hand pointing forward which give off some heat in this cold damp rocky cave. He is humming while paying attention to his surrounding. On his way, he had met some puny lizards mentioned by the guild and a certain guy while entering this cave. Those lizards like humanoid is slightly taller than a third of human adult, standing tall below his waistline. They had scaly skin, long tail and a alligator-like head with a snout filled with tiny teeth. Their yipping sound like puppy call. Adam had seen them hiding in holes in cave ceiling, waiting in ambushes to take the target off guard. Since they are weak creature they does not like frontal confrontation instead they uses their intellect and numbers.

“Hmm, seems like they are coming from the front and back this time” Adam muttered after hearing multiple footsteps from the both side.

“Seems like the strategy to attract attention of those stupid lizards works well”

“Hopefully I get to promote faster and gain excess to more information. Exploration and Heroic saga of Adam the Hero began, hehe” he laugh sheepishly.

Then, suddenly, a lump of something fly through the air towards him. He already anticipate them so he avoided it easily. The lump of crawling insects hit the cavern wall. They are some worm like creatures with many legs, poisonous centipedes. After avoiding the ambush, Adam run towards the said location where the projectile came from. There are three lizards waiting for him, one with slingshot and another two holding primitive copper dagger. The front most lizard quickly rushes and stabs toward Adam but it was avoided until another dagger came from behind it. However, before the dagger reaches its target the front lizard was kicked and it collides with the lizard behind. When both fall onto the ground a swift sword strike came and took two life with just a blow. When Adam advance the back most shooter tries to hit him but was blocked by his companion and after they fell it tries to make distance jumping backwards while shooting the human. Its sharp stone never hit the target as he keep stepping aside while advancing like a serpent in a mysterious way. In just a breath the final lizard is cut down. After finishing off the three, Adam quickly turn around run towards the other two lizard from the back. Half way through he shouted

“[Sliding Slash]”

He then slides forward with one leg stretch to the front, passing the lizards from the side while facing them and a huge moon arc flashes parallel to the ground. In mere second two head drop to the ground and blood flow slowly out of the headless necks. After ending the fight, he cut off the tip of the lizard tails and walk off into the darkness.

Marquis Roderick Saley is a noble of the Phoenix Empire. His family’s march or better known as the frontier is bordering the Great forest of Alkis which produces a lot of monsters within. From time to time there will be monster attacking or plundering villages in the surrounding. Life is hard in the frontier, people tend to be stronger than those that is in the middle of the empire. It is not that there is no monster in the empire but much more out there as the empire is the human territory so is much safer. The frontliner like him must be strong to fight back the monsters to keep their love ones and the weak safe. Thus, training and equipment is essential.

Recently there is a report of mining cave sighted that was not explored in his territory. Thus, he requested the adventurer guild to exterminate monsters in it. The kobolds should not be much a problem for adventurer to deal with, just that it will take some time as this race tend to reproduce very fast so it was assumed that it will be quite a number. The reason that he wanted to get the cave is due to the copper and minerals in it that is valuable for making weapon, armor and uses.

Today is supposed to be a good day but in the noon, a soldier came running into his mansion as he hears thumping sound of iron boot footsteps in quick pace.

“Report! Report, milord” as soldier said as he kneel in front with heavy breathing.

“Yes, what is it?”

“Milord, the adventurer coming back from the forest in the southwest reported sighting of huge number of goblins”

“How many?” the marquis ask in a serious tone

“The number is not confirm but estimated about over a thousand and still gathering”

“Hm, are they moving home or what?” the marquis pondered

“Milord, there is another thing where the location of sighting is just near the recently spotted cave” the soldier quickly say

“??Is the goblin and kobold at odd? Then this will benefit us” the marquis thought while smiling.

“Okay, 0021, go ready the lads. We will set off to clear the goblin after doing some scouting. Send out the scout for the time being and do not alert the green skin” Roderick ordered his lieutenant.

There are many kobolds holding pickaxe hitting the ground with their own rhythm. There is a kobold that laid on the floor full of sweat with its tongue dropping out of the mouth. There are several other kobolds in the nearby, came kicking it and yipping loudly seemingly angry. The kobold rolled on the ground painfully holding its stomach. After kicking the kobold the others went back to hitting the ground with pickaxe. The kobold on the ground is the youngest son of the kobold leader but he was very weak. If his father was not the leader he will be exile since long ago.

The kobold or any creature usually abandon the weak so that they don’t feed an extra mouth. Once his father dies he will be exile and that seems to be soon as the leader of the race is selected by the eldest of all the kobold because it can survive so long that it was respected. The kobold race reproduce quickly so they will be hunted down by humans and surrounding monster that compete in getting food.

This weak kobold is Ur De. He was bullied since born and he like to dream of becoming a true dragon which his race says that was their ancestor of some kind. Now that thinking of his father retirement drawing near and nearer he was constantly filled with anxiety making him fidget from time to time. Besides that, recently there is news of human invading their cave but it’s not a big problem since the entrance is very far from the main lair and there is another exit toward another location far away. However, it was getting very inconvenient for the warrior to gather food from outside the cave in the forest. In addition those troublesome goblin is making a scene. The kobold cannot blame the goblins too as both has very high population to feed so the competition is fierce as always.

After finishing the morning mining task, Ur De goes back to his lair. In there, an old kobold with hunchback lacking of energy to move is sitting on a flat rock. Ur De was called over immediately.

“Ur come here” a weak voice which sound forcefully escape for the mouth is heard

“Yes, All Watcher. Is there anything?” he ask weakly with head lowered while slowly moving towards the old kobold.

“You know that I am old and soon will be returning to earth. Have you made your preparations?” old kobold ask

“Yes” Ur De replied dejectedly

“Good. Then another thing, you will be assign as a sentry, later at noon. We are lacking of tribesmen so you need to replace one of the sentry that going to get the food supply”

“Careful of the humans, recently a lot of them is trying to invade us”

“Well then that all, you can go now” the old kobold finishes what he wanted to say and gasp for some air.

“Yes” replied Ur as he return to rest before his sentry shift.
