Infirmary
"So, shouldn't we just head out and party tonight? Sam can you book a table at Milo's." Milo's was a high-class restaurant and they restricted access to anyone with a status below tier 5. There were expectations of course. Not letting a duke's son was detrimental to the business too.
"We should first head to the training camp and request initialization. With Justin already in the system, they will let us in as well." Sam said riding the excitement in the room by a level.
"Shouldn't we go and take the physical trials first?" The rest agreed to Jim's question and left for the cafeteria.
"These sword training builds up a high appetite."
The four went looking for the physical trails leaving Dina behind to clean up the place. After all, the infirmary must be clean at all times. "Yeah, but why me? Wasn't Maya the one that popped it?" Although she was unhappy, she still agreed to clean up. After all, she was already secretly a tier 1. 'At least you could have left Justin with me.' She mumbled peeking at the nurse in her office.
"Don't you dare run." The nurse said in a loud enough voice seeing Dona peek inside.
Trial Grounds
The place was empty apart for two or three that came to register for the trails.
"Maya, Jim, Justin, Sam" the attendee called their names and the party followed behind as they entered the trial room. "Justin will have to wait aside. The trails are only for tier 0." An instructor who stood at the front of the gates said extending his hands to a monitoring room at the side.
"Good luck, guys!" Justin said leaving the three behind.
"I assume you are familiar with the process?" He asked, verifying that they were all good and opened the gate.

"Here, Sam you go first." A deadweight was placed on the floor which Sam was forced to lift. Anyone could lift it since the gravity of the place was controlled inside the room. The instructor slowly increased the force and soon Sam's hands trembled lightly letting go of the weight.
"25 kilos. Not bad for a mage." The instructor asked Jim to replace him.
"32 kilos. On the low side for a DPS. Still not terrible. You next." Jim stepped aside letting Maya take over.
"18 kilos. You better work on those arm strength. Healers will have to lift and move people sometimes. You won't be much help to your party being so weak."
'Isn't that what levitate is for?' Thought Maya in her head staring at the instructor who walked over to the treadmills.
"32, 56, 35." The instructor marked their speed and then walked back towards the monitoring room.
"Alright, you can wait here for a few seconds. The terminals will start in a few seconds and I will plug you in then. Don't be nervous, it doesn't hurt."
"We weren't planning on completing initialization now. We came just for the physical trials." Sam spoke up clearing the confusion.
"It will get congested soon. Yesterday there was such a huge rush but we could still only do 25 people. Are you sure you want to skip now? It will only take a few minutes." Sam and the rest still had a class they had to get back to. The bigger issue was that Dona was still not here. If the rest of them went ahead and completed it, then Dona would definitely be pissed.
"We have another member, Dona. She is held up in the infirmary."
While the two sides were having the conversation, Dona came in a bit angry shouting at the four.

"Can you believe it? She made me sit there and pick up everyone and then once I'm done with it she just threw me out. She didn't even say thanks." Dona was definitely pouting. "Oh, by the way, we have the rest of the day free thanks to Lady Violet's outburst."
"Perfect. You all are here now. Get inside." The instructor pushed them in through another door where a few twenty cabins were placed. "Don't be nervous now. The first time is a bit hard since we have to force awaken all of you. It should be easy on the two of you." He guided each of them to what looked like a cryogenic chamber.
There was one working on the corner. It had a huge number on top showing how long it had been operating for.
'622:04:13:18:56'
"What is in there?" Sam asked the instructor. "That is a terminal hub. We have to use it to you to the system and force you to awaken. Don't worry about it." All of them proceeded to their respective cabins and started putting on their suits. The suit was heavy and they all entered their respective cabins.
Cabin 03 Sam
The surrounding was pitch black and soothing voice kept humming in the background. Sam felt a sudden jerk on his head as if his soul was being pulled out. Before he could respond, he fell unconscious.
'What the?' He was suddenly pulled awake. The surrounding was white and there were no distinctive features as he felt like he was floating in the world.
"Welcome to initialization. Would you like to change your name?" A voice reached him from somewhere unknown.
"No. I'd like to keep Sam."
There was a few seconds of pause and then the sound responded. "Sam is already taken. Would you like to register under a different hidden handle? Please note, handles will be hidden and are only used by the system."
"Ok." All Sam wanted was to keep the name that he was used to. "Thank you for your cooperation." 'Like I had a choice.' Even if sam had disagreed, the system would force a handle on him. The only difference was he could now choose a handle himself.
"What would you like your handle to be?" The sound asked and Sam who was prepared for this said, "Sam the legend".
"Sorry, the handle is already taken. Would you like to change your name or try another handle?"
Sam kept thinking in his head. 'Change my name? Mom said not to make any stupid names like Qwaka but she didn't explicitly ban me from changing my name. What would a good name be?" Sam kept pondering.
"Would you like some suggestions?"
"Ok."
"Opening glossary." Suddenly a few names appeared in front of him.
Samuel
Graham
Merlin
Vence
Locke
Rice
Philip
Abraham
Vermont
"Alright, I will take Samuel." Sam picked his name from the list confused.
"Character naming complete. Welcome to Questers, Samuel Valerie."
"There is another Sam Valerie?" Sam asked the sound but there was no response. He lost his consciousness only to wake up a few seconds later in a completely foreign land.

The Rise of Rose
Those who have power guard it jealously. Those who desire power must pry it from their hands, by any means necessary. And Rose wants Power. *Cover art isn't mine. If it's yours please tell me if you want it taken down, and I will do so posthaste.*
8 184Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.
8 203The Owl's Hierarchy
Seth of None knows who he is. A survivor. A two-faced liar. A harbinger of death and sycophant for revenge. But who is his red-eyed teacher who killed his people, saved his life, and won't leave his thoughts? Their small village is rallying toward war with a merciless empire, and Seth must know the truth about his teacher's role in this sharply-turning series of events if he wants to stop this... and settle their past. If this quiet, blood-eyed man isn't who Seth thought he was, does Seth still want his revenge? Or is he starting to feel a pang for something else? A post-apocalyptic slowburn smashed together with small-town politics, centuries-lost nanotech, and an unreliable narrator who's finally running out of lies.
