Infirmary
"What happened? Asked a nurse seeing Dona carry a girl and dump her on to the stretcher. "Sword practice", Jim said from behind. "There is always someone. Was she hurt badly?" She started going through the wounds. "This isn't…" "She fell face down losing balance. She might have broken her nose bridge."
Suddenly, Yuri came running inside panting heavily. "Miss… Miss Bennett, Lady Violet asked for you. Mark got stabbed…Bleeding." She said, between her pants.
The old lady walked out of her office. She released a healing pulse claiming Yuri. "Looks like Violet lost it again." She muttered before storming off towards the training hall.
Yuri, who was finally able to breathe free, lowered herself to the floor whom the nurse lifted up, placing her on the bed next to Justin.

The kids slowly unfroze having experienced terror for the first time in their life. The ones who had yet to lose consciousness slowly recovered. A healer floated towards them from the outside at a speed that cannot be comprehended. She stopped in the air pushing out an aura soothing everyone's soul.
Seeing the kid bleeding on the floor and one right next to him with a fragile skull, Lady Bennett floated over and landed next to them. "Move over. It's fine for now." She waited for Violet to step aside and extended her hand over the chest softly chanting a spell. The blood that had died us slowly evaporated and a clear smell of burned flesh spread in the hall. The few who couldn't hold on vomited yet no one dared scuffle at them. All eyes were on Lady Violet as she slowly got up grabbing the blood-soaked sword and walked towards the sword stand.
Mark slowly started regaining colour and Lady Bennett moved over to Rick. 'The skull was fractured.' She went through a quick overview and found that the kid was stable. Looking through the fracture she could make out five very large fingers. 'Violet might have overdone it a bit.' She cast a 'levitate' on the boy and turned around facing Violet.

"Violet, you might have gone a bit overboard this time. I will have to report this to Lord Qwaka. There will be an enquiry." Violet waved her hands at Lady Bennett. "Sorry to bother you. I'm perfectly in control. I'm pretty sure you can patch him up in no time." Violet said with an innocent smile, while the rest of her body leaked some of her demonic aura. 'You body easily betrays you, idiot.' Lady Bennett flew back to the infirmary with Rick.
"Did I say the class was over?" Lady Violet said in a menacing sound. The students left the class like water through a broken dam.

'What's going on?' She tried to open her eyes, but her vision was hazy. There was a faint smell of rust around her as she tried to reach over to grab whatever she could find. 'Help!' She tried to scream but no voice came out.
"Upgrade Complete." A voice reported inside her head.
'Ahh', a searing pain penetrated her brain as she tried to keep herself awake.
"Bloodline: Dragonling." Before she could respond, sleep took over. Her eyes closed peacefully.
Lady Bennett stood right next to Justin examining her. Rick was on a bed right next to her. A nurse was shaving his head preparing him for surgery. The academy already sent out a letter to his father Julio, who worked as a clerk at the local guild house.
There were twelve super guilds with tier 7 powerhouses in the city-state Ralph. Julio was the head of one of these super guilds. He responded immediately asking to be present at the surgery. Julio was a tier 7 healer rarer than tier 8 tanks. The entire dukedom of Sylph treated him with respect.
"She seems to be fine. It's just drowsiness from her system being activated." Lady Bennett said after a thorough examination. "What?" Everyone in the room was elated. Yuri, who was recovering from the backlash of the demonic aura perked her ears in attention.

A system activation outside the initiation was a rare occurrence. It is said that only one in ten thousand was fortunate enough to obtain it. With her system active, Justin should receive the noble title of knight immediately putting her above all the students of their class except those hidden tigers hiding their tier like Astra. The party was elated by the news as a direct system activation also meant much more powerful battle jobs albeit the hardship of levelling. With each powerful member they have, the stronger their overall power becomes.
Justin was in a semiconscious state as she floated in space. The system became active. She was now a Chosen. Sudden happiness took over as she realised she could no longer be bullied. "Thank you." She said aloud in the unknown space.
"Recalibrating DNA structure to suit the bloodline. Entering quester character creation."
A small pixie appeared in front of her radiating light.
"Hi," It said and then started merging into her. A new voice sounded in her head. It belonged to the pixie. "Evolution process is complete." The pixie quieted down and a new interface popped up in front of Justin.
"Please select the preferred Job class."
Justin received three options. A dragon-blood warrior. A dragonewt brawler. A dragonkin lancer. Justin felt nervous staring at the three options. Her issue wasn't from the diversity of the options. Her problems sprouted from the grade of the three offered jobs. Legendary? She was stuck. She knew it.
The jobs were classified into four grades. Common, Uncommon, Rare and Legendary. These were the generic grades that the system carried over from the parent game 'Travellers". With each added grade the progression became that more difficult.
Compared to a common job, the uncommon required twice the experience to level up. A rare required four times while a legendary eight times the experience. Besides that, the legendary jobs also had to complete a rare legendary job quest to get promoted to the next tier. Due to these difficulties, there were only a handful of legendary job holders in the world. But those that reached the apex would rule over the rest.
Had there been any lower grade options she wouldn't have hesitated. Swallowing a bit of saliva, she picked her new job.
"Job Selection Complete: Dragon-Blood Warrior"
"The levelling system is now active. Please use the nearest system terminal to enter stats calibration." With that, the pixie entered hibernation letting Justin wake up.
"Congratulations!" She heard her friends' shout and a few party poppers going off.

Unlike other Cultivation stories, this one focuses on multiple Asian mythologies rather than just Chinese myth, and isn’t just a generic power fantasy. It explores the very nature of strength itself, and how it could and should be used.
