《Kana Adventure》Chapter Twelve: The Start of Planning

A few minutes later, she appeared in front of the tent. "Looks like I got here early, no one else seems to be here," Kana said while looking around. She sat on a chair and waited while thinking over the information she got earlier.

'I gotta keep killing my enemies now that I have the knowledge that I can keep getting stronger,' Kana thought. 'This war helped me more than I thought.' Suddenly she heard a noise from outside.

"Finally, they are here," Kana said, ready to give them a mission that would have them in a huge pickle but would get them richer than ever.

Soon enough, three people walked into the tent and sat on the other chairs, waiting for Kana to speak. "Now then, who has information on the enemies; I was too lazy to study," Kana said shamelessly to her subordinates.

"I don't even know how you could be our leader when you are like this," Faendal said sarcastically.

"You wanna see how I became your leader?" Kana asked threateningly.

"Ugh, whatever. Right now, the world is split into three parts. The north is the spacewalker territory, the east is the demon race territory, and to the east, are the humans," Faendal explained reluctantly.

"The closest demon camp is around the human border from what I know. There are at least five hundred demons in that camp, most are only at the soldier fighting level, but they do have fourteen warriors and seven knights. It seems like there are two grand knights as well," Faendal explained.

"The best camp to attack is one that is a little further away; it was already attacked and weakened. They are still waiting for reinforcements. If we attack now, we can take them out with only one hundred soldiers left, and most of them wounded," Faendal said, then went silent and looked toward Kana looking for her answer.

"I see, then let us fight against the stronger camp. I don't wanna go after the leftovers of others," Kana stated to everyone.

"Are you sure? Even though we have more strength, they have more in terms of numbers," Faendal asked a little concerned.

"I am sure of it; does anyone have anything to say?" Kana remarked.

"I agree, but I will prioritize protecting my young master if that is alright with you?" Kreaul asked Kana.

"That is fine; you may do what you wish," Kana said, she didn't care if he did not fight since she wanted more soul power anyway. Anyone else?" Kana asked.

"I am with you," Orin said, then she went silent. Everyone then looked to Faendal.

"Ugh, fine, but if we end up in trouble, I am blaming all of you guys," Faendal said, giving up.

"Good, it is settled. Now, where is this camp at?" Kana asked.

Thirty minutes later, they left the tent.

"We will meet here tomorrow. Everyone gather the supplies I put on your lists," Kana said then immediately walked off.

"Let us go, young master," Kreaul stated, and the master and butler left the scene to complete their chore.

"Her soul power is weaker now; I wonder what happened exactly?" Orina said to herself before fading away.

"Now then, time to get supplies. First, I need to check the shops around here," Kana said, then started looking around the city.

“Kana! That shop right there!” Kuko suddenly yelled.

"Over there?" Kana said and looked over. What she saw was a weird store looking like something she would find in a modern city. It looked out of place; there was a sign that said, Soul Shop.

"Oh, interesting. I did not expect one to be here," Kopurete stated suddenly.

"You are awake? What is that place for it to even have you surprised?" Kana asked.

"That is a shop that takes soul power as payment. There was another way to get soul power, which is for someone to give their soul power to others, but the one giving can't be forced. This place has good things most of the time; you can use a little of your extra soul power to get something good," Kopurete said, then once again went to sleep.

"I see…" Kana replied before walking toward the shop.

*Ding *Ding *Ding

“Welcome!” said an old voice.

Looking up, Kana saw an old man with gray hair and wrinkles on his hands and face. Looking closely, she saw that he was blind.

“Hi, there!” Kana said.

"Is there something you wanted? For you to come into my shop means you have soul power to buy something," the old man stated. He smiled with excitement.

"If you want anything specific, then ask me, and I will see if we have it," he added before he sat on a chair and waited.

Kana thought about what she needed… “That’s it!” Kana yelled.

"Hmm? You what something?" the old man asked kindly.

"Yes, I want something to save my life when in danger!" Kana stated.

"I see, hold on," the old man said, then went outback. Five minutes later, he came back with a small box in hand. He opened the box, and a bracelet was inside. "This is a substitute bracelet. If you suffer from a wound that would normally kill you, it will take the damage for you. Once it is used, it will break, so it is a one-time thing," the old man told her.

"Okay, I will take it." Kana accepted, and the old man proceeded to take twenty-five soul powers from her.

"Glad doing business with you; do come again," he said, then gave Kana the box before he sat back on the chair, waiting once more for another customer to come.

'I can kill more demons to get my soul power back. As long as I keep some on me, I won't die,' Kana thought to herself as she walked out.

"Now I have to finish getting the things on my list. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow; I can't wait!" Kana said excitedly about the next day.

Somewhere else…

"General! We have information from the capital!" a small demon yelled.

"What is it?" an evil voice said.

"They will attack our camp soon! It seems they think we only have two grand knights. They don't know you came today," the small demon replied, telling the general what he heard from their spy in the capital.

"Oh, really? Interesting, I guess I won't be bored, after all," he said with a smile filled with malice.

"Of course, with your powers of a lord, they don't stand a chance!" the small demon told him stroking the general's ego.

"Go! I need to prepare for tomorrow," the general ordered as he pulled out a map and ignored him.

The smaller demon bowed before reluctantly leaving the room in a hurry.
