Chapter 46- The Nature Of A Tyrannical Demon God Is To Battle Until You Become An Existence Above All In Creation!!
Within the center of the blue lotus, Shen Long could be seen there breathing rather heavily as he propped himself up with his large halberd.
His once skinny body of 5’10 had now become a burly 7’10 that was filled with muscles.
However, aside from his heavy breathing that produced white puffs, one could see several large and small gashes all over his body.
His ragged clothes were practically non-existent, as he only had a piece of garment that hang from his waist, blocking his privates from view.
Being in the center of Ling Shui’s Daoist magic, Shen Long could feel the frigid energy invading his body which caused his arms and legs to slowly become numb.
It had taken him all of his strength to yell those words, but soon after he did the frigid energy around him multiplied.
The manifestation of his Tyrannical Demon God body, a dark reddish aura that envelop his entire body was barely holding on to protect him from the frigid energy
Gritting his teeth, Shen Long spat out two words.
“Fucking bastard.”
He had been in this Daoist magic for only a couple of minutes to an hour at best, but the fact that he was in his current condition after so little time, made him angry and frustrated.
Aside from the frigid energy in his surroundings that was slowly weakening him, he had to deal with attacks from several ice giants similar to the one Ling Shui had conjured before.
And worst of all they were a lot more powerful, and this environment gave them an annoying ability that made Shen Long want to cough up blood in frustration.
In Shen Long’s immediate surroundings, which were filled with dense white fog, one could see several lumps of ice shards and broken ice giants.
However, after a couple of seconds, the white fog condensed in a swirling mist around the broken ice giants and reconstructed them whole again.
Upon seeing this, Shen Long’s eyes turn red, as he took a step forward and appeared in front of the ice giant and slash his halberd down, shattering it before it could fully form.

But to his dismay, three swirling mist appeared around a broken ice giant several dozen meters away.
Shen Long collapsed on one knee, as that burst of energy took all he had.
He had been battling Ling Shui’s ice giants for an hour and in that brief time, he must have destroyed hundreds of them. But no matter what he did, they would just reform and attack him again.
As Shen Long was kneeling on one knee against his halberd, he suddenly swung behind him and blocked an icicle that was three meters long and around thirteen inches in diameter.
Due to the force of the icicle, Shen Long was pushed back causing him to leave a deep skid mark on the ice cover ground.
This was another thing he had to deal with.
This white fog not only reforms the ice giants, but it can also create attacks that target him when he least suspected it.
As Shen Long forcefully stop his momentum, he gritted his teeth once again in frustration.
‘How can this Daoist magic spell be so powerful? Judging by its power alone, it must be a Saint-level technique at the very least. The fact that that bastard Ling Shui is able to use it with this much proficiency is pissing me off.’
Shen Long then let out a sigh in his heart.
‘Maybe I shouldn’t have rushed to challenge him, maybe.,,’.
When this thought popped into Shen Long’s mind he suddenly shook his head to clear those thoughts away.
‘No, regret is not in my nature. Cultivating the Tyrannical Demon God body had me went through hell and back, this situation is nothing more than child’s play to me.’
Upon thinking that, Shen Long started to look around his surroundings more closely.
His gaze was especially fixated on the three swirling mist that was reforming the ice giants. After a while of intense focus, his eyes suddenly light up in understanding.
‘So that's it.’
Shen Long began to grin.
‘That’s why this technique seems so oddly powerful and endless. Each time this frigid white fog creates and reforms those ice giants or makes an attack, the Daoist magic begins to weaken. However, this is all covered-up by the fact that each time the frigid white fog thins out, this entire lotus shrinks, effectively condensing the fog. There’s no way that bastard Ling Shui could have sustained this Daoist magic spell with his current cultivation. If I could hold out long enough, then this Daoist magic will eventually run itself dry.’

As Shen Long completed his analysis of his current situation, his grin become wider, before his mountain of a body stood ramrod straight. The red aura surrounding his body seem to come alive as it began to swirl around him more vigorously.
If he could just hold out long enough then it’s his win, even if he felt like he was about to collapse from exhaustiveness, he would still continue to fight.
As someone who was known as a battle-hungry maniac, this current situation to Shen Long couldn’t be more exciting.
The very nature of a tyrannical demon god is to battle, battle and battle until you become an existence that stands above all in creation.
Flinging his head back, Shen Long let a bellow causing the red aura surrounding him to spike once more. Then with a forceful stomp of his foot, he shot towards the three ice giants.
Even with Shen Long’s current build, the three ice giants still towered over him at a height of ten meters.
And aside from their height and power, what was different about them was that each of their weapons was different.
One of them held a large halberd that was even bigger than Shen Long’s own. Another one had a long chain, with a ferocious-looking dragon claw at the end, which was entirely made from ice. The last ice giant held an ice spear that had carving designs of flood dragons on it.
The three ice giants saw Shen Long’s fast-approaching figure and immediately move to intercept him.
The two ice giants that held the halberd and spear rush forward in a pincer attack, while the one with the dragon claw, attacks from the rear at a distance.
Their attack was extremely coordinated and in sync. These were the attacks Shen Long had to deal with, they would do so in groups and pressure him with numbers.
He had been at his breaking point because of this, but knowing what the current situation was, his mind was clear as he push forward in his attack.
With a wide horizontal slash of his jade-green halberd, coated in his red aura, the two ice giants’ spear and halberd shattered along with them being split in half by the waist.
With speed not fit for his size, Shen Long made a turn on his heels and brought along the momentum of his first swing and slash again towards the two ice giants, shattering them into pieces before his first slash could take effect.
Without pausing, Shen Long sped past the shattered remains of the two ice giants and headed for the last one.
With a deafening ‘clang’ Shen Long parry the massive dragon claw the ice giant had thrown at him.
‘Swoosh!!’
Shen Long appeared in front of that ice giant and with two hands holding his halberd, Shen Long made an overhead strike. Not being able to call back its weapon in time, the ice giant could only stand there defenceless, as Shen Long’s halberd decimated its entire body.
With the ice giant body parts flying everywhere, Shen Long’s aura raged as he looked around his foggy surroundings for his next target.
Shen Long didn’t need to wait long as another swirling cluster of fog appeared not too far away from him.
Tightening his grip on his halberd, Shen Long’s eyes blaze with the desire to do battle. Just as he was about to rush forward though, he suddenly stopped as he saw what was forming.
Instead of an ice giant that had formed, it was a figure of Ling Shui.
Unlike the ice giants that looked like ice sculptures, Ling Shui weirdly retain a human appearance, while wearing the same golden attire as before along with his slick black hair that was tied behind his head.
Seeing this, Shen Long narrowed his eyes, as this version of Ling Shui made a couple of questions pop up in his mind.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!
