《The Wu Clan's Rise: Legends of the twin dragons》Chapter 29- A Challenge

The two rank 3 demonic beasts under the control of Longmin and Longwei's bodyguards were gazing at the treeline that led deeper into the forest, staying highly alert. However, faint footsteps suddenly sounded out to their left, which became louder and louder as they approached the arching doorway.
The Red Salamander and the Sparrow's peak tier rank 3 cultivation burst forth with tremendous power. Their eyes radiated brutality as they stared at the young man from the Crescent Moon Sect, who had bent the corner and was heading in their direction.
The young man's body had returned to normal, and the fiery aura that had surrounded him before was gone. He still had that tranquil expression on his face as he walked with his hands held behind his back.
Although he seemed unperturbed by the rank 3 demonic beasts' aura and intense stares, he had still been caught off guard by them as he turned the corner. His steps had faltered a little, but he had managed to recover in time before it was noticeable.
As he walked forward for a while, he calmly came to a stop several meters away from the demonic beasts and the natural spring.
Longmin and Longwei who were on a boulder in front of the waterfall noticed what was going on over at the edge of the pond and looked over.
Seeing who it was, Longwei's eyes turned cold.
"That bastard still dares to come here?!"
Longmin who was next to him saw that he was alone, and this caused his eyes to narrow while asking, "Why is he alone?"
Longwei's voice then turned low, and with a growl he responded, "Obviously he came here looking to die."
With that, he waved his hand and a blue Sword Qi in the shape of a broadsword materialized at the edge of the boulder. With a step, Longwei went on top of the hovering Sword Qi, and as soon as his feet were placed firmly on it, the Sword Qi went shooting across the pond.

An ear-piercing whistle was produced as the Sword Qi cut through the air. The air resistance then became nonexistent, and as quick as a spark flying off a splint, the Sword Qi traversed three hundred meters from its initial position to stop at the edge of the pond.
Longwei then stepped off the Sword Qi while it was dispersing, and with a cold expression, he began marching in the direction of the young man, however, Longmin's arm came out of nowhere and caught his shoulder stopping him mid-stride.
Longwei became irritated, and he turned to look at Longmin with a questioning look.
Behind Longmin, the ripples in the pond water caused by his footsteps were still in the middle of fading away. Looking at the focal point of the ripples, one could see that there was a total of six, meaning Longmin had only taken six steps to cross a distance of three hundred meters.
This just proved evidence of his inhuman speed.
Seeing the questioning look his brother was giving him, Longmin just rolled his eyes and pointed at their clothes that were a couple of feet away.
Longwei looked over, and for a moment, it didn't click in his head, but then he suddenly looked down and realized that he was still nude.
His mind had been so focused on confronting the Crescent Moon disciple that it forgot to remind him that he didn't have any clothes on.
Slightly embarrassed, Longwei rushed over to his robes and got dressed, with Longmin doing the same.
After several breaths of time, they began walking to where the young man had stopped.
Longwei was still embarrassed, but it lessened a bit when he realized that the two demonic beasts were blocking them from view.
Longmin, who was walking next to him, was chuckling at his brother's expression. He then lowered his voice and spoke in a grave tone, "Brother, I think you should be a bit more calmer when you're in these situations. If you continue, who knows, maybe you'll do something that warrants granduncle's beatings again."

Hearing that, Longwei's pupils shrank, and his heart skipped a beat while recalling the memories of all those savage beatings. All of a sudden, his butt felt painful, and his face turned slightly pale.
His reaction was obviously from a terrible trauma that had been engraved into him. Longmin's words had suddenly triggered it.
When Longmin saw his brother's reaction, he wanted to burst out laughing. But with all of his self-control, he managed to keep the fake worried expression on his face.
Longwei nervously said, "Little brother, you better not say anything! That old foggy is seriously a ruthless demon in human form. If you ever tattle on me, you definitely won't have a twin sibling anymore."
With the same worried expression on his face, Longmin earnestly nodded his head. However, the corner of his lips would twitch ever so slightly.
The joy in Longmin's heart was so strong it felt like it was about to burst. He had long realized signs of his brother's slight fear of their granduncle within the clan.
His brother might talk as if the beatings were nothing to him, but it had undoubtedly left a scar within his mind that would make his heart jump just from being reminded of it.
Longmin might love his brother, but that doesn't mean he didn't find him unpleasant to be around at times. However, if he stretched that scar within his mind, he could find some ways to exploit it and get back at his brother for his past grievances.
This might sound evil or extreme, but the times Longmin had suffered at his brother's hands were so numerous his brother had it coming to him.
As the both of them passed between the two demonic beasts, Longmin was thinking about several ways to take advantage of his brother's trauma, while Longwei on the other hand, had already regained his cold expression as he looked at the young man.
After they came to the front and stopped, the young man calmly cupped his fist and said, "Greeting to the Wu Clan's two young masters, I'm Lee Weisheng from the Crescent Moon Sect."
Even though this Lee Weisheng offered formal greetings, he didn't bother to bow, and his words were so casually spoken it was bordering on being disrespectful.
As soon as Weisheng finished his introduction, Longwei said, "Weisheng, who the hell gave you the courage to appear in front of me? If you're after the Heavenly Pallet, then screw off, it's mine, and you're not getting it."
Longwei didn't mince his words and got straight to the point.
A burning hatred rose in Weisheng's heart, but the only change to his expression was a smile forming on his lips.
"Young master Longwei, I know your opinion of me isn't that good because of my past or recent actions, but I already regretted my actions in the past, and the words I spoke at the Pocket Realm's entrance was only out of anger. I hope that you would find it in your heart to forgive me and accept my sincere apology." Weisheng said that while doing a slight bow.
Seeing his reaction, Longwei's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
He ignored Weisheng's attempt at an apology and said, "I don't want to hear your apology. What did you really come here for? Do you think we would hand over the Heavenly Pallet to you?"
Raising his head, the smile on Weisheng's lips was still visible as he said, "Young master Longwei since the Heavenly Pallet is something you desire, of course, I wouldn't dare ask you for it, but under the current circumstances, I have no choice but to extend a challenge to you for it. Let us have a sparring match. If you lose, you'll have no choice but to hand over the Heavenly Pallet."

A Requiem For The End
Yuga wakes up on a cold, frigid land entirely covered in snow. Where was he? Who was he? Neither of these could he remember but he didn't have time to think of it, he could tell danger wasn't far. A quick death if he failed to avoid it. It was fast approaching and much as he tried to escape, it quickly caught up with him. Luckily he had survived, but was he just lucky or was there something more to him.....? A Requiem For The End is a fantasy story set in a world.......well, quite different from most stories you might have seen (I honestly don't know how to better describe it). Early into the story (prologue) the world feels elusive because you slowly learn about it through the eyes of Yuga. As you read on questions may arise in your mind and mysteries will present themselves. The answers to them will come the further you read. I'd like to think the plot is a bit larger than the average and same goes for the world building. If you find this story intriguing then all I can say is - There's a lot for me to tell, hop on?
