Chapter 23 Crisis At The Station
[Chep! Chep! Chep!] Uniformed legs advanced ahead of the other in a hasty motion. [Whoosh!] An alarmed officer barged into Lieutenant Fain’s office suddenly and interrupted her interrogation of the criminal suspect. “Lieutenant! Lieutenant! Urgent news! Something catastrophic is happening outside!” [Huff! Huff!] The alarmed officer was out of breath as he spoke. His terrified temperament was quite evident for his superior notice of.
“What did you say?” Lieutenant Fain shot her plump buttocks up from the table and rushed ahead to help up the terrified officer to his wobbling feet.
“Lieutenant Fain, it is hectic! Take a look outside the window!”
[Thud! Thud!] Lieutenant Fain ran to her office window and quickly drew up the blinds. [Whoosh!] What presented itself before her startled vision was an apocalyptic scenery that she never would have envisioned. Various forms of farting monsters were emerging from the contagious fume that was quickly encasing the town; many terrified civilians were fleeing disorderly to safety; motor vehicle accidents were happening at every corner and the streets that were still dryly visible were being washed with rich blood.
“How could such a thing be happening under my nose without me noticing?” Lieutenant Fain was dumbstruck.
“What is that?” Selene peeked outside and almost had her intestines twisted by the grotesque scenery. [Barf!] She ran to a nearby disposal unit and vomited inside.
The officer who came to report didn’t pay much attention to Selene, he joined Lieutenant Fain at the window and conveyed the rest of his report. “Lieutenant Fain our officers on the ground have already engaged those brutal creatures. They are doing whatever they can to push back the monsters and rescue the uninfected civilians by bringing them here. But I fear that it is just a matter of time before that spreading gas reaches our doorstep. Our area of operation will soon be limited. I’ve already taken the liberty to contact the BCDF military. They are on their way, however, they won’t be arriving anytime soon.”
“What is the toxicity level of that gas outside?”
“Lieutenant Fain as far as I’ve observed, that gas is highly contagious. It will slowly corrode your body at direct exposer, moreover, very fatal for whoever breathes it in. That person would then undergo a strange transformation into one of those rampaging beasts that you’re looking at outside.”

“Huh? Are you telling me that those farting creatures were once human?”
“That’s correct Lieutenant Fain. After coming into contact with that gas, their whole biological composite has changed drastically. Some of our officers were unfortunate enough to experience it first-hand.”
“Even while wearing the gas mask?”
“Yes, Lieutenant Fain. The gas mask we’re using doesn’t seem to do much to filter that poisonous air. But there’s something else…”
“What? Hurry up and speak!” Lieutenant Fain was antsy for an upfront answer.
The terrified officer went on to say: “Lieutenant, I’m not sure about the verity of this information but, apparently, the officers who were accidentally exposed to the gas and didn’t succumb to the infection were wearing the latest production line of Lignum masks.”
“Lignum mask?”
“Yes, Lieutenant Fain. They were recently transported from that untouchable island Liberal Vista. Do you think that the Fahtier rebels might have some sort of connection to this blatant terrorist attack occurring in our city?”
“Hm…” Lieutenant Fain pondered for a while then said: “I don't believe this is their way of operation but that theory is still possible. I won’t rule out anything at this point.” Lieutenant Fain stepped away from the window and opened a storage cabinet that was in the corner of her office. There was a sealed box inside bearing the tag, LXMG which she opened. “Detective Myers I have around 15 of the latest Lignum Masks in this box. Take one and past the rest to the others and find out if we have any more in stock?”
“I’ve already checked, Lieutenant. Unfortunately, we’ve run out of Lignum masks. Our stock department was scheduled to receive fresh batch today further down in the evening. But due to the crisis outside, I doubt that they will be coming.”
“Alright, take these and passed them out.” Lieutenant Fain gave the box of Lignum face masks to Detective Myers after strapping one around her face. “For the officers who don’t have any, tell them to remain isolated inside the station. Make sure that all of the expose apertures in the station are sealed and the A.C-units turned off. With the many civilians that are being taken here to safety, we must prevent any leakage of gas from circulating inside.”
“I’m on it.” Detective Myers brought the box of Lignum Masks to the outer department and began distributing them to the officers who didn’t already have any. “Hurry up and put these on. They will prevent the virulent gas circulating outside from corroding your respiratory system.”

“Yes, sir!”
“Major! Major!” Officer Cryson who just received the news of the catastrophe outside, ran into officer Hizen’s private office and quickly informed him. [Chatter! Chatter! Chatter!]
“What? Are you sure about that, Cryson? Farting monsters are plaguing our city?”
“Yes major, I’m sure. What are we going to do? If we leave now we might be able to escape the area before the poison gas completely takes over.”
“Good choice. Seal the doors. I’m going to prepare myself for battle.” Officer Hizen opened up a secret section in his office. Inside was decorated with shelves of destructive equipment.
“Wow, major! You’re packing some heavy artillery inside here. When did you build this secret room without anyone noticing?” Cryson was blown away by the number of eye-catching weapons and protective gears inside officer Hizen’s private office. It would seem that he was prepared for every eventuality.
“Stop standing there in a daze, boy. Come and pick out whatever you want. We are at war!”
“Can I really chose whatever I want, major? Sweet!” Officer Cryson gladly immersed himself into the wide array of weapons. “I wish Marian was here to see this. I wonder if she’ll be safe staying at the UPH hospital. She should be, that area is still outside the reach of the contagion.”
Meanwhile officer Hizen was gearing up for battle, just outside his office at a nearby desk where the officers were retrieving Lignum face masks from the carton box, a female officer heard an unusual ticking noise emanating from Selene’s mini-suitcase that was sitting idle on a chair. [Tic! Tak! Tic! Tak!]
“Hmm? What is that?” The inquisitive officer decided to snoop inside the mini-suitcase and find out what was causing the ticking noise. [Zip!] She opened it and quickly located the source. “This is…” what she pulled out was a very thick and dark dildo that was too monstrous to fit inside any woman’s moist area.
“Why is this so big?” The female officer thought of Selene as she continued inspecting the monstrous dildo. “Does that woman has a bottomless crotch between her legs?”
“Ms Tongue, what do you have there?” Another inquisitive officer noticed the dark object in the woman’s grasp and went closer to take a look. “Woah! Why is this thing so massive? Ms Tongue, do you…?”
Ms Tongue saw the shocking look shooting her way from the inquisitive officer’s eyes and hurriedly confessed. “No! No! Drop that ridiculous look on your face, Peter. It’s not mine. I think it belongs to that criminal lady who officer Hizen brought in.”
“Is this the size that young ladies prefer nowadays?”
“Don’t ask me! I’ve never experienced a thing this big.”
“It figures. This thing is way too big to fit inside any…” [Tic! Tak! Tic!] Officer Peter heard the ticking noise which prompted him to position his ear closer to the monstrous ticking dildo. “Is there something inside here? Why is it ticking?”
“That’s what I was wondering.” Officer Tongue said. “Can you see if it can open?”
“Hand it over.” As the monstrous dildo landed into Officer Peter’s grasp. The ticking sound came to a halt. “It stopped?”
[Boom!] Without notice, the monstrous dildo exploded into the officers’ face. Subsequently, it began diffusing a violent rush of toxic gas. [Whoosh!]
“AAAAAAAAH! It got in! It got!” Officer Peter was among the few officers situated on the 14th-floor department who hadn’t donned his Lignum mask yet. Because of this, he inhaled all of the virulent fumes.
“That is…?” Detective Myers was quick on the uptake. The moment he noticed the spread of the poisonous gas circulating throughout the department, he instructed the surrounding officers to take precautions. “Get away from him! And make sure that gas doesn’t touch you! Hurry up and don your Lignum masks!”
[Cough! Cough!] Officer Tongue whose face was also right next to the monstrous dildo when it exploded, was scooting backwards on the floor, trying her best to avoid close contact with the spreading gas. “Oh no! It got me!” Some gas had already spread across her face along with her forearms. The infected skin quickly produced awful rashes. [Spread! Spread!] “Will I turn into one of those monsters who are rampaging outside?”

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

8 281Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia
"Why are my hands getting warmer?" As far as Alicia was concerned, she was the daughter of a rich businessman attending high school. Then, she feels off and at the same time, she's not. One week later, her best friend brought her to another world(s). This is Alicia Bell's tale. 1st book written in the Wizards of the Otherworldly series. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo. Crossposted with Wattpad, WordPress, Sufficient Velocity, and Rainobu.
