Qian Jiujiu sat beside Mu Yexiao casually. “No, I came to see you right after I woke up. It’s good timing, I’ll eat with you then.”

Dong Chen’s gaze was never friendly, but Qian Jiujiu was a fairly thick-skinned person after all.

She could ignore all the unfriendly gazes toward her without breaking a sweat. On the other hand, Hong Ling was smart to have set up two pairs of chopsticks on the table for Qian Jiujiu and Mu Yexiao to have their meal together.

The only thing bothering Mu Yexiao now was Qian Jiujiu’s constant stare at him while they ate. Finally, Mu Yexiao could not turn a blind eye to it anymore.

Placing his chopsticks down, he turned to look at Qian Jiujiu. “You need a favor from me?”

Qian Jiujiu gave Mu Yexiao a sheepish grin, rubbed her head, and stared at Mu Yexiao with an expression full of sincerity.

“I want to borrow some money from you.”

Finishing her words, a hint of shyness seemed to be glinting on Qian Jiujiu’s not-so-good skin.

“Uhm, there’s nothing valuable in my dowry and it’s hard to go by without money. Besides, we are now partners. Would you not lend me a hand when you see me in trouble?”

She sounded ever so confident. Mu Yexiao moved his finger as he watched Qian Jiujiu’s little mouth opened and closed, before letting out a few coughs.

Qian Jiujiu, who was interrupted, locked gaze with Mu Yexiao. “You’re not willing to? How about this, think of it as you’re buying things from me?”

“But, I’ll take the money first to buy ingredients. After they’re done, I sell it to you. Detoxification pills, health pills, whatever you like. You have only one chance.”

“It’s up to you to decide.”

Qian Jiujiu was still nervous at heart though she sounded assuring. After all, Mu Yexiao looked like a very stingy person.
