《Wilberforce》Chapter 148: Armad vs Uznu (2)

As Armad gained more years of pol, the rainbow kept adding more colors. From its original red, it now had black and yellow as the pol years reached 30,000 years.
Armad roared defiantly and dug his nails into the miyura. Steam emerged from his body. His pol rose even further.
31,000, 32,000, 33,000...
Another color appeared in the rainbow. It was white.
34,000, 35,000...
Another color appeared. It was green. The rainbow now had five colors.
As his years of pol increased to 40,000, another color appeared in the rainbow. It was black. The grey ice of the Great Cold fell from the rainbow like rainfall.
Armad roared. He needed more years. Why did it stop? He pushed the miyura again, but it didn't budge.
Somewhere far away, on the borders of the first world, countless chains made of black metal appeared out of the Black Stone and fell to the lower worlds. Although the chains didn't reach the battlefield, Armad felt as if he was physically chained.
He had reached the limit allowed by the Lord King. The Lord King was strict when it came to the level of pol the inhabitants of the lower worlds could use. It could not exceed 40,000 years. The Black Stone not only protected the first world but also restricted the lower worlds.
Armad would have to do with 40,000 years. It was beyond anything he could have imagined. It felt like he could destroy the world with just a flip of his finger. His skin glowed faintly and his five senses transformed into another level. He could even hear people's breathing and heartbeat and see them blinking from hundreds of meters away. He was ready.
"Lightning!" He said, clapping his hands in a gesture. His eyes locked on Uznu.

The world darkened at that single word. Twenty thousand lightning bolts, each bolt equivalent to one year of pol, appeared in the sky and covered the clouds. They looked like miniature bolts from afar but each bolt was at least a meter in diameter. These bolts came together and transformed into one.
Then twenty thousand more bolts covered the ground. The earth and sky turned to lightning. The weapons on the ground turned to lightning. Even the men who were too slow to run away were consumed and turned into lightning.
All these bolts of lightning came together to create a single gigantic bolt. It was a bolt made from 40,000 years of pol. Multicolored lightning with the six colors of the rainbow above.
"Sikai!" Armad called again. In response, the multicolored bolt shot into his right arm and merged with it. For a moment, Armad's body disappeared and only his gigantic hand was visible.
"Lightning Arm," he said, and the lightning fist shot toward Uznu.
Everything happened within a few seconds. And, for the first time, Uznu looked scared. He chanted some incantations, placing a hand on his chest. A scroll appeared on the chest. He yanked it and threw it aside, making his years of pol rapidly increase. His body emitted a dark mist.
He was sure of this technique. It saved him once during the battle of the Book-sword. He believed it would do so now.
Armad shot the multicolored lightning fist at Uznu, swallowing him and his weapon. Uznu tried to reduce the impact with his hardened tomahawk, but the weapon dissolved instantly. Uznu's body was blown away. His muscles and bones were dissolved instantly. When the multicolored lightning fist dissipated, only his heart remained.
"He... He... He... Killed him!"
"He killed Uznu Ururu, one of the Ashura!"

The soldiers couldn't believe or understand it.
But then the remaining heart trembling on the ground glowed. It stopped bleeding and visibly grew bigger. Muscles and bones formed around it. The torso was reformed and limbs grew out of it. Uznu's body recomposed itself, and Uznu rose again. The whole recomposition took less than fifteen seconds.
Uznu looked weak. Yarsaira ran forward and held his hands. Pol passed from her hands into him.
"That's enough," Uznu said weakly. "I'll be fine."
The woman nodded slowly. "You should quickly finish him off. I'm getting a bit worried."
Uznu smiled wickedly. "I intend to."
"Is this the best you can do, Wilberforce?" Uznu taunted. Armad remained silent. "Well, let me tell you a secret. Although I am the weakest of the Ashura, the limit of forty thousand years in the lower worlds is still far beneath me."
Armad frowned. He had to get rid of this man. He didn't have the strength to borrow another forty thousand years any time soon. And even if he could, Uznu would most likely survive it as before.
"I have already decided on killing you today, why won't you just die?" Armad said.

A Broken World [Rewrite]
In a world of floating islands of stone in the sky, where rivers flow through the air and defy gravity from one island to another, and ancient ruins can be found containing wonders beyond what can be produced by the lands current inhabitants- a millenia long war rages. In the distant past, beyond recorded history, when the crown of humanity's glory, the city of Uri, had stood whole against the enroaching demon swarms- even as hope seemed lost, a band of heroes, against all odds, managed to steal powerful magical knowledge from the demons. With the demon's forbidden knowledge, in the heart of Uri a new ritual was made. Called, "The Millenial Summoning," the ritual had the power to call a being from another world that would have the power to change the world forever. The first being summoned became known as "The Speaker," and he brought the power of the Gods to the world. With the blessings and power of the new priests, the unstoppable demon hordes were finally halted. A thousand years later, the ritual was used again and "The First Sorceress" was brought to the world. She brought the knowledge of advanced magics, and techniques to find and refine magical talent. With the magic power now added to the battlefield, the stalemate was broken. And for the first time, the demons were pushed back. Another thousand years later, and all of humanites hope for a final victory were dashed. Traitors slew the ritual's participants and took their places, and humanity quaked as The Demon King stepped into the world. His name, his nature, where he came from none of these are known, but what is known is his overwhelming power and his brilliant strategic leadership of the formerly formless hordes. Still, despite their position being even more dire than it has ever been since history has been recorded, humanity held on for another thousand years. Aided, thankfully, by The Demon King not taking the field after the first few years and battles. Now, the ritual is being cast again and a new hero is being summoned. In our world, after nearly three decades of study and hard work, Lucas Jaeger is making his dreams come true. With a double doctorate in both genetics and microbiology, as well as an associates degree in accounting, he has finally, after nearly driving himself mad from stress and sick from overwork, been able to put to together a presentation and ask for a business loan. His long time dream, earned by his own blood and sweat, to start his own commercial genetic company is finally coming to fruition. Lucas's car never left the banks parking lot and Lucas was never seen again in our world. This is a rewrite of "A Broken World." It is basically the same story, just a thousand times better and with decent length chapters!
