《Wilberforce》Chapter 146: Negrinki

A tremendous roar arose when Armad's lightning fist met Uznu's smoky tomahawk. The earth shook and the two of them were thrown off balance from the impact. They sat up spitting blood.
When everything was calm again, there was no sign of the lightning fist. And yet the tomahawk remained, unscathed and doubled in size. It had now transformed into metal.
Armad recognized Negrinki. Yes, this was the first time he had ever witnessed it on the battlefield, but it wasn't a new concept to him. He had once seen it on a small scale in a Negrinki fruit. It was many years now but he still remembered how Nusi used a similar fruit to heal him.
After that, Armad had tried to plant the mysterious fruit. It was said to feed on pol, so Armad had intended to feed it with his miyura. But shortly after, he lost the miyura. So his dream remained unfulfilled. That being said, Uznu wasn't using any fruit or artificial weapon of Negrinki to attack him. The Negrinki he used to make the tomahawk came from his body. And that reminded Armad about the three hidden Orders.
Order of Sammai were the only Benders in the hierarchy that could produce Negrinki. Order of Kassai was the first and the weakest. Order of Jemai was one tier above the Order of Kassai. Then, finally, the Order of Sammai sat at the top.
The Order of Kassai and the Order of Jemai was a stage where a Bender used their pol (or rather the years in the pol) to power their attacks. Here, the years of pol determined the impact of an attack. A lightning bolt produced from 1 year of pol would never be as strong as the bolt produced from two years of pol. Anyone below 1,000 years would belong to the First Order. Anyone above 1,000 years would belong to the Second Order. The difference was only in the years.

But that rule didn't work on the last Order, Order of Sammai. This Order used the composite element in the years instead of the simple energy produced by the years themselves. This composite element was called NEGRINKI. That was why the scholars believed only the Order of Sammai could plant Negrinki fruits. The fruits fed on pol years, but they thrived on Negrinki. Only the last Order could provide them with that and so the conclusion.
Negrinki was normally black, but it could be changed with some effort.
No one knew the exact amount of Negrinki in a year, the amount of it and the strength of the wielder would go hand in hand. Order of Sammai used their Negrinki to power their attacks, and because of that, it was believed that a non-sammai, regardless of however many years of pol they possessed, would have less strength than a Sammai.
The Sammai could wield powers of unthinkable scale because they used Negrinki instead of pol directly.
A few among the top of the Order could even use it to create a weapon. But why would the Order of Sammai have this advantage? It was because of the nature of the Negrinki.
A year of pol could power one bolt of lightning with a power level of 10. But that same year, when broken down to its component, could produce Negrinki that could produce ten bolts of lightning, each with a power level of 20.
So, it was against common sense for someone in the first two Orders to stand against the last Order.
But Armad was sure he could defeat his opponent, regardless of being in the second Order. He kept attacking his opponent, not allowing him a breathing space.
But Uznu was equal to the task and kept retaliating in like manner. Uznu was no longer using his transformed tomahawk to attack. He would simply punch the air to create an air bubble. Then he would coat it with Negrinki and launch it.

The coated air bubbles and Armad's black lightning fists seemed to be a perfect match as they canceled each other. Uznu used his Negrinki while Armad used his miyura to channel pol years and also had the Sikai that gave him nigh-infinite lightning. It might seem absurd from a distance. But Armad was using ten or more years just to counter a unit of Uznu's Negrinki.
Who would run out of energy first?
Meanwhile, the happenings on the other side of the battlefield were no less spectacular.
Daljari had summoned his Salsa.
The first man among them wore a shirt of brown material with mountain prints on it. He was of small stature but exuded an aura of strength. He wore an earthen crown on his unshaven face. This was White Sand. He stood at Daljari's back protectively.
Beside White Sand was a boyish-looking man. His head was bald and his eyes bore foreboding darkness. He was COW DUNG.
The third man was a thin man with a long braided beard that reached to the ground. The beard shone peculiarly. He was Desert Wind.
Nobody saw the arrival of these three. It wasn't clear whether they'd been there from the beginning of the battle or they were just arriving.

8 206Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.

Cover Art: Undead Master by Changling Assassin. Located at: http://fav.me/dbm60ex Used under license Creative Commons attribution non-commercial 3.0 per bottom right of the linked page. Summary: Just the story of a necromancer and his eventual army. Currently, the only major thing of note is a pretty fleshed out magic system. No set list of spells or specific incantations. Just rules similar to the laws of physics, within those laws you can do whatever is possible. Updates: I work Sunday thru Wednesday and updates tend to revolve around my scheduled days off. Currently, I release content as I feel it's ready for release because that's what I myself would prefer from an author. Warnings: This story is graphic. blood/necromancy magic that requires self-harm to use. explicit descriptions of sexuality. (though fairly tame outside of the marked chapters, at least compared to said chapters) and is generally darker in tone. If you're concerned you might start to read only to be turned off by these elements. See 7. Teetering on the Edge for an example of the graphic nature of violence or 9. Explicit Content for a fairly self-contained example of the most explicit of the sexual content.

8 149Island Paradise (Grashien Chronicles Book 1)
The Grashiens have survived in hiding for millenia, peacefully watching over the human race from within. The arrival of one girl sets in motion a chain of events that will be impossible to stop. What will come of this unexpected change in circumstances? How will the tribes react? And will the Grashiens be able to rejoin society for good? Author's note: This is the first book in what is expected to be an eight-book series. The first few chapters aren't very good since they were written when I was about ten, but the quality improves around chapter 7. Please bear with it; I'll try to get the chapters in as soon as possible. Thanks!
