《Wilberforce》Chapter 130: Tribe Shishirui

The creature shut its eyes for a moment and then turned to the other pillar, talking eagerly with seven tongues. "Ranbirshishirui, they seek for Black Flame. It seems we are about to witness an entertaining battle. It has been a while since I witnessed such. Long has gone the battle of Book-sword."
There was an unmistakable eagerness in the voice as if the creature was told some good news and couldn't wait to share it. The dull sense of repetitions created by the several mouths speaking the same thing at the same time was disturbing. But Han'ibal found out he understood every word. He could even sense the sharpness and eagerness that came with every word.
A while later, the other pillar transformed into a twin of the other one, but this one had ten heads with two horns on each. These two creatures were a different species that was neither human nor djinn or dordor. Their existence wasn't even known by the humans of this era. The first was named Dandirshishirui and the second was Ranbirshishirui.
The second creature, Ranbirshishirui, shook his head, "King Wilberforce, King Kuyurussa'ayi, King Amraikugyu, and the Triple Factor, all these were of the past, but they have left a great deal yet undone. There are viral youths, all of them vying to rule the world and depose Ururu. If I were to be asked for the best, I would choose Black Flame."
Dandirshishirui laughed gleefully. He said, "Ranbirshishirui, don't forget there are real masters of pol in the current era. There is Ikenga, son of Oduduwa, and the grandson of Bayajidda. There is Miki Abbas, the First Writer. There are also the other Jinzidal Kings. And there is that new lad, Armad Wilberforce, the heir of Eyrion Wilberforce. Moreover, there is our kin, our tribesman, Banzirshishirui. I hear he is now called Bihanzin, master of the perpetual damage. As for me, I would choose Bihanzin."
Ranbirshishirui drew in a deep breath and shook his heads, then said, "Well, whoever it is, things would soon change."

All the while, King Han'ibal, and his companions were listening to this discussion full of wisdom.
Ranbirshishirui turned his head back to King Han'ibal. He said, "It seems, Han'ibal, that you wish to prevent Black Flame from passing through this gate when she leaves the djinn realm."
Han'ibal gave a smile full of confidence. "That's right. I came here because I know this is the only way from the djinn realm to that of humans. If Black Flame stays in the djinn realm and doesn't come to meddle in our affairs, she won't be a concern to me. Otherwise, her parents would have to bear another child."

~The Battlefield
It took more than twenty seconds of battling between Bihanzin's perpetual damage and the representation of the graveyard sand of Daljari before the flying sword went out, and the image disappeared. But then the ground was torn. A large crater had appeared wherever the sword had passed. The place would forever remain like that, never to become whole again.
The battlefield regained some calm after some seconds and the darkness disappeared.
Daljari gave an order to his troops, "Attack!"
The attack from Bihanzin was like a declaration of war. He must retaliate.
The chosen ten of the allied forces led a group of ten thousand men each and attacked. More than a hundred thousand men were still left in the allied forces.
On the other side of the battlefield, the groups of five thousand men from Bihanzin's army also attacked. The two sides clashed midway.
Daljari and his allies faced Bihanzin and his two commanders. Meanwhile, Bizaya and his team got ready to intercept the carriage and take Nostalgia.
Uznu Ururu stayed aside, observing. He was looking for Armad but somehow couldn't find him. He would have already gotten to Armad if the alliance had taken his advice, but the others chose to save King Han'ibal's family instead. He respected that, but that didn't change the fact it was foolish. Bihanzin's army was outnumbered four times, but Uznu still preferred the easy victory. Besides, Dandil had released Armad several hours ago, why hadn't Armad come to the battlefield already? Was he wounded too much? Something was fishy.

The war drum was beaten. There was no stopping it now.
As the two sides clashed, the clanging of metal dulled by the chaos was heard. Blood started flowing on the ground. The difference became clear within a short time. Daljari's men were getting the upper hand toward Bihanzin's men. Even if Bihanzin's men were to slay three men each from Daljari's army, they still wouldn't win.
When Damjinu saw that, he disappeared from where he stood and reappeared near the enemy. He drew his sword and pointed forward. The sword suddenly elongated and hit the nearest man. It pierced through him to the next person behind him. And the next. It became longer and faster the more it drew blood. Before long, it had skewered a hundred men.
The sword had grown to more than a kilometer's length.
Damjinu moved his hand and the sword retracted to its normal size, unstained. It would have been unbelievable for anyone who hadn't witnessed it firsthand.
The remaining men stopped on their tracts. Every one of them knew the master of that sword. Its name was FLOWER-DE-LISA. The sword of Bihanzin's first division commander, Damjinu Djinn. A very blunt sword, indeed. One could spend five years trying to cut vegetables with it for its lack of sharpness. But it had a peculiar pointy tip. It was believed that its pointed end could spear anything in the world, be it stone or metal. It drew the blood of anything it pierced, gaining energy and elongating in the process.
Without wasting time, Damjinu struck again and skewered another hundred or so men. The battle began to warm up. Blood was flooding all over the place.
The ten selected elites leading the alliance ignored Damjinu and attacked the ten men leading Bihanzin's army. The other men behind them went for the remaining.
Damjinu fought. But he was surrounded by the first batch of ten thousand people. Meanwhile, nine more such groups were edging their way towards the carriage.
After scattering the first group, Damjinu quickly went for the next group closest to the carriage.
Meanwhile, Deniz Bizaya led his group of six, unnoticed, towards the carriage. No one saw them because of the chaos. They used white beads and talismans to hide their pols. And using the cover of dust, they disappeared in the crowd and before long, they were almost upon the spot where the carriage was.
Bihanzin sensed their pols at that moment. He turned in haste to strike in their direction, but Daljari stepped in front of him, saying, "Don't you think you have to finish with us before going there? Don't forget that after me, there is Deniz, Dandil, and Uznu."
Bihanzin turned toward them in fury. The two men behind him, Nakata and Dinandul, drew their swords and faced the jinzidal Kings.
Bihanzin's eyes darkened with anger. He looked at Daljari and said, "I don't want to kill you, but I'll have no choice if you won't let me pass."
After saying that, his sword began to heat up with black smoke oozing out of it. Bihanzin grew two black wings. He flew towards the carriage before anyone could react.
Daljari produced a black hammer from his bag of holding. It wasn't big but seeing it could make one feverish instantly. He also called upon his earth Bend, causing the earth beneath his feet to detach and rise with him upwards, blocking Bihanzin's path.
One stood with eagle-like wings, the other stood suspended on a sand disc. A battle between jinzidal Kings was not to be taken lightly.

Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...

8 188Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.

It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely.
