《Wilberforce》Chapter 52: A New Moon

It was the moon of the seventeenth night in the sky. The moonlight had filled Infiria and every other city in the seven worlds.

Suddenly the moonlight began to fade and darken. The eyes of every living thing turned to it as it rapidly disappeared as if it were an eclipse.

Many young children who had never seen an eclipse started crying and the religious leaders started calling for prayers.

Then, suddenly, the moonlight returned and shone. But its light wasn't what everyone was used to, it was shining with a brownish-gray light.

It wasn't long before the general public became embroiled in a riot with rumors about a catastrophe circulating among the masses.

However, the people who had been around for a long knew very well what the new moon signified.

In Sisiya, the dynasty of King Bihanzin, a chronically ill-looking, old man woke up from a coffin. He opened his eyes and as if in response a pol that was at least ten thousand years strong filled the room. His whole body was dry, his skin was tan, and he looked like a corpse. Yet, he opened his mouth and talked. "The blood of Wilberforce has appeared again."

Then he went back to sleep. What he said directly reached the ears of King Bihanzin who was currently sitting in his palace.

The same corpse-like man awoke in the underground city of Seerish and repeated the same words the other had said.

A man holding a large book in his hand on an island was frowning at the sky. His eyes shone with the same brownish grey light that was the moon. He just smiled and closed his eyes again.

The same thing happened in many parts of the world.

The new moonlight continued to increase in intensity until it reached every nook and cranny of the seven worlds.

Back in the hall, Armad was being auctioned in a glass box for sale as a slave. He stood up and looked at all the people around.

There was nothing at first but then the light from the new moon dimmed in other parts of the world, gleaming in the direction of the auction hall.

It slowly connected with the eyes of the young man in the glass box and then disappeared into it. His eyes glowed with the same light as the moon.

Everyone in the hall could see what just happened. The presenter started shaking and moving backward.

Armad looked at the chains around him and they fell to the ground like they were broken by an unseen force. All the wounds in his body healed instantly. Then he looked up at the glass box and the brown light in his eyes shattered it.

He appeared outside like a demon-possessed man. The people in the hall trembled as he looked at them. Many felt as if they were being stared at by death. Although some would rather face death than Armad at that moment.

Armad's eyes lit with the intensity of his pol. He stretched out his hand and a window appeared in the air. He reached and pulled out his sword from inside. Five stars were hanging at the tip of the sword. Armad smiled after seeing the stars and remembering how many they were when he fought Ikenga. He'd undergone a dramatic change in his body which was both amazing and unexpected.

From the first floor to the third floor, everyone was silent and still. After making sure nobody was willing to challenge him, he raised his sword and pointed it at the other slaves who were sold before him. He would set them free in front of the whole world. But once he did that he would be in great danger. It was equivalent to an open challenge of all the tribes of the Ururu and the five jinzidal Kings. When that happened, the black-eyed men would come down from the first world to catch him.

Princess Nostalgia appeared in front of Armad smiling. Armad stopped, and despite his anger, he still remembered the woman he'd met a couple of years ago. The princess saved his life twice. He remembered how she held his hand and prevented him from falling into the rift. He could hear the words of the board ringing in his ears even as he looked at her.

He also hadn't forgotten the unique Bend she used to read his mind. He'd always felt conflicted about her. Was she an enemy or a friend?

"Nostalgia? Why are you here, are you defending the slavers? I won't show mercy if you get involved, I will..."

Armad paused. For a moment, he thought he saw tears in her eyes as she looked at his torn and blood-stained clothes.

Then he heard a noise behind him.

"Wow... Isn't that boy Armad Djinn? The one who competed in the jinzidal?"

"Of course, he is, he looks the same albeit... the clothes."

"Why didn't we recognize him until now?"

"Why is a man like him being sold as a slave? What's going on?"

It seemed whatever stopped these people from recognizing Armad earlier had been removed and by now everyone knew who Armad was.
