《Wilberforce》Chapter 36: The White Bead

He felt the pain increase every time the fire got closer to him. It was as if his flesh was being fried. He clenched his jaw to avoid groaning.
One thing caught his attention: the fact that the very nature of the fire which sought to destroy him was so great that it kept burning and attacking him but the pol in it remained the same. It should be reduced from the original ten years but it kept burning with the same energy. There would be an issue if things continued to go that way because if his opponent's pol didn't decrease as he used it or if it regenerated so fast that it seemed not to be falling, then how could he defeat him?
The smoke suffocated him but he knew if he let himself faint there then the end would come for him. So he bit his lips and stood on his feet. After a short debate, he slipped his gloved hand into his pocket and retrieved the white bead. And at the same time, he looked at his core and channeled a massive amount of lightning energy equivalent to 10 years of pol.
A young man bathing in a suit of lightning made from ten lightning bolts, each bolt with the power of a year, appeared. Surely many of the viewers would never forget this boy called Armad.
He lunged forward to his opponent, who was watching him from a distance. But the flame ran after him as if it knew what Armad was planning to do. It only took a second for the flame to engulf him.
A fight broke out between the flame and Armad's lightning bolts. Fire tried to swallow lightning, and lightning tried to ignite the fire. This was indeed a special battle, to which all the spectators turned their attention. What they didn't know, however, was that behind the lightning suit Armad was bleeding profusely through his nose and mouth. Every time the fire struck the lightning his body was injured because of the differences in pol between the two. There was a mighty difference between the fire that was created from over fifty years and the lightning that was created from 10 years. If it wasn't for Armad's courage, the fight would have already ended.

Amid the battle, Armad walked toward Han Amuru bleeding, his only wish was to reach the boy. Amuru gave him a look of astonishment. "It seems you are in a hurry to come to me. Do you think you can hurt me? Well, allow me to show you the difference between you and me."
The boy folded his arms, which turned all the flames around him into one giant fireball around his arm. Armad stared at the fireball. If he let the boy hit him with that thing then even his ashes wouldn't be seen. So he turned the rest of his pol into another lightning bolt, and used it to cover the white bead, and attacked Amuru. The light covered the bead, making it invisible.
"Do you think that can hurt me? That's childish, but I'll show you what power means. I'll show what it means to be the fire incarnate..."
The boy swallowed the rest of his words as the lightning hit the flame surrounding him and the bead passed through his defense, ignoring all the flame, to touch his body. It attached to the boy's neck like a magnet.
In a blink, the fire around Amuru disappeared and it seemed as if it had never been lit. A burning sensation filled his body, and even his sore foot could no longer carry him. He headed straight for the ground as if unconscious and fell on his face.
At the same time that everyone was wondering what was going on, referee Ghalee's voice was heard, "W...white bead! There is no doubt about what just happened. Armad Djinn has just used white bread on Amuru. The bead binds any demon and prevents its master from using any of their skills. But how did this young man get his hands on something like that? How could he own a charm like that?"

Ghalee went on to explain his surprise. Armad defeated Amuru, who was still on the ground and couldn't move. Not only were the djinns bound by the white bead, but even their masters would also be drained so much that they could do nothing until the bead was removed.
The scene of Amuru lying on Armad's feet shook everyone there, and many of the audience looked at Armad differently than a minute earlier. Nearly forty percent began to think positively of him.
The healers rushed to the scene and took Armad to the infirmary, for surprisingly, Armad was the winner but he was the one bleeding. There wasn't a single wound in Amuru's body except for the fact that he couldn't get up because of the white bead. Fortunately for Armad, there would be another fight before the final. So he had time to rest and recover a bit.
It was time to fight between the host Deniz Bizaya and Ikenga O. Bayajidda, the man who was the reason Armad lost his miyura.
Armad had qualified for the final stage of the competition. Even if he lost, he would have a battleship and many fifth-grade ayrids. Besides the thousands of slaves that would be given to the country he represented, Mikironomada. And the mission to infiltrate Shadeniza, the closed underground city, was already underway.

Fena can’t die. To most, this might be considered a blessing. To others, a curse. Fena doesn’t really care what other people call it: for her, it’s reality. She’s content to keep her head down while working for the Mercenary Guild, but a new contract arrives that threatens to drag her back to a past she wants nothing to do with. Haunted by her own thoughts and a crow that never seems to shut up, Fena is caught between confronting her past and preventing it from ever happening again. Indigo is alone. Her adopted mother is gone, and the witch that never gets her pronouns right is currently the most popular researcher at the Royal Academy. Worse still, she suddenly finds herself with shoes to fill that are so enormous they’re more like a swimming pool, while that same witch flaunts a research project that could get them all killed. With the expectations of her entire sect weighing on her like a lead weight, will Indigo sink or swim? Can she stop the White Witch’s project before it’s too late? Or will the twisted politics of the Royal Academy prove too much? This is my first published story, so hopefully it goes well! It's the beginning of a new school year, and Ethan Burkhardt has finally accomplished his greatest goal. Inrollment at an HCP (Hero Certification Progam) in Chicago, Illinois. Sizemore Tech might not have been his first choice, but they were the only ones willing to accept his application. Now, he just has to endure 4 years of brutal testing. The good news: He won't be alone. An entire class of strangers will be thrown together, young men and women all with the dream of becoming licensed Heros. They will be forced to either sink or swim (sometimes literally), but for most, their greatest challenge will be each other. The bad news: Someone is working behind the scenes, manipulating people and events towards some unknown goal. Are they on the side of the students? Or are they preparing to bring down the next generation of heroes before they can even graduate? A story based in the world of Drew Hayes "SuperPowereds" Series, this is my attempt at a fan-fiction that holds very close to the canonical worldbuilding already done. I hope you enjoy.
