《Wilberforce》Chapter 35: The Great Walls of Fire

"Come, let me show you something," Nusi pulled Armad and quickly left the crowd to a small fence outside the arena. "Your opponent may look young but he's not that young. I know him for years when we tried to enter Shadeniza. He is indeed more dangerous than wildfires, you have to be careful."
"Ok." Armad sighed. "Don't worry too much, I will not die until I make sure my mother is fine. I have Bends I haven't yet used." Armad spoke softly especially seeing the sympathy in her eyes.
"Really," Armad said. "You should stop worrying so much."
Nusi shook her head. "I don't know why I feel like this... My mind just won't rest until we leave here. Don't you find it suspicious that the reps from Sisiya were late? I mean, who comes late to the jinzidal?"
She moved closer to him to hide him from some passers-by who had started to point at him, saying things like, "he is Armad Djinn, he won over Prince Niyashi."
Nusi further dragged Armad behind some shops around the arena to hide from the public eye.
"Take this," she said, retrieving a bead from her dress and handing it to him. "You know how to use it."
Armad narrowed his eyes at the bead. Was it even real? If it was the bead he thought it was, then he must have found a diamond in the rough. "N... Nusi, how did you get a white bead?"
"Shush... stop saying it loud or someone will hear." Nusi covered his mouth with a finger. Then proceeded with the explanation after handing the bead to him.
"It doesn't have much essence left in it so it can only be used once. Put these gloves on when you use it." She offered him a pair of hand gloves. He was still shocked about the bead. He was fully aware of how rare and expensive it was. Indeed Nusi had some big connections.

The whistle for the next match was blown and they were a bit far from the ring. They rushed back into the arena.
Shortly after, Armad and Han Amuru stood on the ring. All you could hear was the shouts of the audience supporting Armad and some Han Amuru. It was obvious that Han Amuru had more supporters among the crowd. Probably a benefit for being from the third world and being a prince.
Before he climbed onto the ring, Armad had rubbed his pockets again to make sure the book was still there. He didn't tell Nusi about it even though he should have. And he felt a little bad about it. Not knowing why the book helped him made it unlikely that he would receive such help from it again, and he certainly shouldn't rely on it. He needed to come up with a way to achieve success even without the book.
'I have the Dance of Uncertainty,' Armad thought. "And I have fifty-one years to power through. Most importantly the white bead I got from Nusi.'
He went on to think of a way to succeed without asking for help from the book, or even dragging the fight.
As they stood on the ring, Han Amuru stepped back, widening the distance between him and Armad. Then he clapped his hands together and shouted, "The Great Wall of Fire."
As the words left his mouth, a ring of fire appeared around his legs. It expanded to cover his torso and his shoulders. Another ring appeared just around it to surround him up to his shoulders. Once it was done, another ring appeared behind it, and so on until there were six walls of fire around Han Amuru. The fire emitted black smoke and protected Han Amuru like a king inside the walls of his city. It seemed so tight and majestic that nothing could breach it, not even an ant.

Han Amuru extended his hand forward, pointing to Armad, who was still standing motionless. Five of the walls around Han Amuru disappeared only to reappear a second later around Armad.
Han Amuru looked up and saw Armad struggling in the middle of the flame and he laughed. "Armad Djinn, right? I watched your fight against Niyashi. But... you shouldn't expect the same treatment from me. When I'm on the ring, I don't care if you're a child or an adult, I'll treat you in the same way. So do not think I will show you mercy because your pol is low."
The cracklings emanating from the flame were heard miles away. It billowed and tried to engulf Armad. Armad read the pol equivalents of each wall of flame and realized it was ten years each. Each could strike him hard.
He put the gloves he received from Nusi on and began enchanting.
"Lightning Armor."
His enhanced speed and sense allowed him to escape the blaze. The fire crushed into the ring where he had left and instantly turned it to ashes. He winced as he reappeared by the side and saw what happened. That was the problem of the armor. It decreased the damage he received from attacks but it also increased his pain sensation making it difficult to withstand them.
As if conscious of his actions, the fire burned in his direction but he jumped to the side. It followed him around.
Han Amuru, annoyed by the situation, clamped his hands together. In response, the six walls of fire coalesced to form one giant flame wall, which surrounded the entire ring with Armad and Amuru in the middle. Then it began to compress itself toward the center.
In other words, Armad had no place left to run except if he would fly to the sky. Maybe if he had his miyura, he could try flying as he did when he fought the guardian. But right now he was trapped in the middle of hell with a fire Bender.
