"..."
Shiro heard everything the system said. He didn't have to open his eyes at all.
Eventually, the sisters stopped chatting and crept towards Shiro slowly.
Shiro felt a slight pressure on his pockets. The sisters were checking his pockets to see whether or not he had something in them.
Before he left, Mornil had provided him with some gold coins for his safe travel, about 50 gold coins.
It was indeed very less, but in that poor place, it was a lot.
The 50 gold coins were about 5 months' worth of fortune for Mornil.
Shiro had placed the pouch which contained those gold coins inside his pocket just in case he needed them for an emergency.
The girls found the pouch and smiled excitedly.
"Sister, I think this pouch contains some gold coins…", the little girl whispered excitedly.
Just as they were about to pull the pouch out of Shiro's pockets, a loud grunt could be heard.
Both girls gasped. Their father had woken up!
The man sat up on the couch slowly. He had a pounding headache due to the amount of alcohol he consumed before.
His hair was messy and all over the place. His clothes were wrinkled and stained, as they had not been washed for almost a week.

*BURP!*
The man burped loudly as he scratched his back.
He was holding an empty glass bottle that used to contain beer.
The girls held their breath as the man shared eye contact with them.
The man stood up and walked toward the girls.
He was eyeing his daughters with a smirk. Although they were his daughters, he was having horrible thoughts about them.
"What are you doing here?", the man asked as he bumped into the older girl.
Both the girls kept quiet, for they fear that their father might suddenly be enraged by any of their sudden movements.
The man looked towards Shiro's 'unconscious' state and grinned.
"Oh, you have brought a manwh*re into the house? I always knew you're nothing but a sl*t!"
The man's eyes trailed towards the older girl's hands, and they instantly darkened as soon as he saw the pouch.
He snatched the pouch from the girl's hands and looked into it.
When he realized that the pouch had a lot of gold coins, his face fumed with anger.
"You b*tch! You had money but you didn't give it to me?", the man yelled as he grabbed a fistful of her hair.
Tanya was scared and trembling as she saw her father becoming angry.
The older girl was also scared of her wits, but she had to speak out or her father would become angrier.
"F-father, I got this money from this b-boy here…", the older girl said in a small voice. Her head was hurting like a thousand needles had pierced through her skull due to her father pulling her hair.
Shiro still had his eyes closed. However, he felt very angry at the man. His muscles tensed as he clenched his fist.
The man laughed.
"Good, good. At least that sexy body of yours is of some use. You must have used your boobs to lure this manwh*re."

Shiro could feel his body tremble with anger. He still had his eyes closed, but he was very close to exposing his lie.
The man let go of his daughter and placed a green bottle on the table near Shiro. Upon closer inspection, he realized that Shiro had pale white skin, akin to beauty.
"If we sell this boy as a slave, we can earn a lot of money…", the man said as his eyes looked at Shiro maliciously.
"No, father. We cannot do that!", the older girl stopped him.
"Tsk.", the man clicked his tongue before he slapped his daughter.
*PAK*
The older girl cried even harder now, drenching her cheeks with nothing but tears.
"Father-"
"Go! Give him more sleeping powder. This lousy thing is not valuable anyway."
The girl, who was shaking uncontrollably, didn't dare to defy her father's instructions again.
She walked slowly towards the table which had the light green bottle. The sleeping powder was kept in the bottle.
The man grew impatient as he began hitting her again.
"AHH!", the girl yelled in pain as multiple slaps landed on her body.
"You're such a useless sl*t! Can't you walk faster?", the man yelled as he continued hitting the girl.
The man decided to do it himself as he poured all the sleeping powder on Shiro.
Even if Shiro breathes, this much powder would be enough to make him stay asleep for 10 days.
It was about 150 grams of powder. They had a good harvest this time, but all of it was wasted on Shiro's body.
The man took out the coins in the pouch and began counting them.
"Hahaha! I will double this money by gambling, and buy more booze for myself!", the man announced loudly.
The older daughter shook her head, despite her body trembling and her face drenched with tears.
"No, father! Mother is ill, and you still have to pay off your debts. You cannot use the coins for gambling!"
The man rolled his eyes as he began hitting the girl again. This time, he was also beating the younger girl, Tanya. The only reason was that Tanya suddenly appeared in the corner of his eye.
The older girl protected her younger sister by placing her body above her, which made her a victim of all the abuse.
Eventually, the man kicked the older girl, which made her fall next to Shiro with a loud thud.

46 Year Old Syndrome
The daily Litrpg journal of a fairly average 46 year old man in a world where hundreds of thousands of people suddenly have a super power.Follow him as he learns skills, runs away a lot, suffers crippling headaches, avoids reading his titles, and tries to avoid breaking his body that didn't get enough calcium and vegetables.[Disclaimer 1: Despite the following, I will fix any typos pointed out. This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]
