《My Pirate System》Chapter 29: Some Items From Mornil

The next day, Shiro woke up when he heard Mornil's mutterings.
"I suppose Shiro needs more food. I should have bought more buns…", Mornil mumbled as he continued packing all the items on the table.
Shiro stretched his arms as he got down from the couch. Last night, Mornil insisted that Shiro slept on his bed.
However, Shiro refused. He was a guest after all. How could he just take Mornil's bed?
Not like Mornil was any rich to have a luxurious bed. He did own one, but it was pretty much rag-tagged. Truth to be told, finding a good furniture in this low-class town would be equivalent to finding a treasure!
Eventually, Mornil agreed, after making sure Shiro was warm for the night with the blanket.
"Good morning, uncle…", Shiro greeted Mornil.
"Oh, good morning, Shiro! Come here and see what other things you need…", Mornil said as he motioned his hand towards Shiro.
Shiro walked to Mornil and his eyes widened in shock as he saw the items that were on the table.
There were almost a dozen buns and a few pastries by the side. There was also a brown pouch, possibly filled with coins.
"I don't know how long you would be traveling, so I thought you might need a lot of food…", Mornil explained.
"Uncle, you don't have to give me so much food! My luggage would be heavy when I travel…", Shiro said, refusing the kind gesture, while giving out a useless concern. He had an inventory, after all, nothing would be heavy for him.
"Oh right, I did not think of that…", Mornil said sheepishly.
"I'll just give you five buns, that'll last you for two days or more.", he said.
And now, Shiro grumbled. He was getting so many buns for free and could have gone weeks without him having to worry about anything.

'Ugh, I should think twice before speaking…', he said to himself.
Mornil began counting the buns and placing them into the basket he prepared.
"Inside this pouch, I have put a few coins. Keep it safe. I gave you everything from my savings, but it might not be enough. Remember to only use them during emergencies…", Mornil instructed as he placed the pouch into the basket.
Shiro nodded. He decided to not refuse the money, especially since he had yet to learn about the system. He remembered the reward given by the system was 200 gold coins, which should be enough, however, why should he refuse something that he was getting for free?
He learned this a few seconds ago!
"Do you need anything else?", Mornil asked.
"Hm, do you have a hoodie, uncle? I need to travel as discrete as possible since I am on the Wanted Posters…", Shiro asked politely.
"Oh right! How could I forget?", Mornil said as he rushed to his bedroom.
After a while, Mornil came out with an old grey coat. "I couldn't find one your size, but I suppose this will do."
Mornil handed the coat to Shiro. Shiro accepted it gratefully and put it on.
Earlier, he had searched for clothes in his own house, however, to cover himself, there was only a shawl. A hoodie would be better, and he remembered seeing Mornil wearing it once. Hence, he didn't hesitate to ask about it.
Regardless, it was very big, but it covered his body entirely. If he wore this, then he would not have to worry about being seen.
"Is it okay?", Mornil asked, concerned.
"Yes, it's fine. Thank you, uncle…", Shiro thanked Mornil.
"That's good. Have some buns as breakfast before you go…", Mornil said as he gave a bun and some more soup to Shiro.

Shiro accepted it and started munching on the bun, drinking the soup side by side.
"Uncle, do you know think the town nearby is a good option? Isn't there any other town that I can visit?", Shiro asked with his mouth full, again.
"Hmm, well, you can go to the next village, not the nearby one, but the one in the other direction. You just need to walk for 5 hours or more to the west, past the forest and you'll reach there.", Mornil recommended an entirely different place.
Shiro nodded as he swallowed the food in his mouth. "Thank you, uncle, I will do that."
"Try not to stay in one place for too long. Otherwise, the Anti-Pirate Federation can catch up to you…", Mornil reminded Shiro gently. He was feeling very worried for Shiro. Since he would not be able to be there with him, Mornil wanted to give advice to Shiro as much as possible.
"I'll keep that in mind, uncle."
"Oh right! I should give you some medicine just in case you get sick…", Mornil said as he rushed to the other side of the house, where he stored most of his medicine.
He came back with three small brown packs, some syrup bottles, and some natural herbs packed in a leaf wrapping.
"These three packs are conventional and can be used to cure common colds. Boil one packet at a time and drink it for three days. You'll feel better after that. Also, this herb in the green wrapping is for fever.", Mornil said as he placed the brown packs into the basket with the herb.
He then added, "This syrup bottle is to treat excess cough.", he showcased a bottle with a white cap.
And then, the one with the red cap, while saying, "This is more like a potion. If you get hurt, then just drink this, and the wounded part will be restored."
When he showcased the healing potion, Shiro was bewildered. He asked, "Wait, does that mean I can get hurt as much as I want, but as soon as I drink this potion, the wound will vanish?"
Mornil shook his head saying, "No. You can use it only once, and you have to drink it entirely."
"At most, it can only cure scratches and small cuts.", he said.

Keys of the Endpoint is an illustrated web serial about the re-birth of civilization in a fantastical world suffering from a recent apocalyptic event. Every day, people appear from the storms that ravage the Endpoint. Whisked away from their own time and place by storms in their homelands, these newcomers find themselves in a hostile place made up of ruins and people from every timeline imaginable. Stranger still, they all soon discover they're carrying silver keys that grant each holder incredible powers. On Earth, most people have mundane excuses for the disappearances, but not Isaac. Having lost his brother Finn to one of these storms, Isaac becomes obsessed with finding a pattern. Not to prevent more people disappearing, but rather to get taken by the storms himself in order to find his brother. While chasing Finn’s faint trail, Isaac soon discovers how little he really knew about himself, his brother and how much loss one person can take. In Keys of the Endpoint there's portal fantasy, personal drama, magic (useable by everyone), plenty of combat, power progression, mysteries, factions, feuds and eventually war (in that order). The magic system is well defined and modular with nigh infinite combinations. The story starts out with one of the two main characters looking for his lost brother but quickly expands in scope from that point on.
