《My Pirate System》Chapter 5: His Name Is Shiro!

"See... you pirates have no one... you all have to die in the most brutal way!", he smirked.
"DRAG HIM AWAY!", he shouted after which some lower-ranking officials came and tied Eric and then dragged him away.
All of them were now assured that the ones from the West Dungeon Conqueror's Family were dead and the last survivor, Eric, was captured alive.
This news spread too like a wildfire and automatically covered up for the failure of the Anti-Pirate Federation to prevent the 2nd Teraldis Disaster Incident.
They all now relaxed and waited for opportunities to kill other pirates or capture them due to which they put a lot of bounties.
"Ah... now it's good. There won't be any more trouble from the west right now after the monopolization!", said one of the top officials of the Sea Federation which was a Federation that ranked higher than the Anti-Pirate Federation.
Yes, while Sea Federation took care of all the crimes in the sea, its branch, the anti-pirate federation took care of pirates specifically.
It was the Sea Federation that looked after the crimes done in the Seas which were essentially due to the Pirates!
They now conquered almost all of the west area and many of the pirates ran with their tails between their legs.
The pirates always dreamed about the so-called God's treasure which they wanted to grab no matter what.
Greedy as they may be, they never forgot to massacre others either. The pirates were just like some thugs who had to be treated carefully.
There were many pirates who just wanted to bully the weak and control them. They also harassed many people.
That was how they would get stronger in terms of numbers.
In this world, where normal humans lived, there were those who had gained supreme powers. Yes, these powers could be gained in three main ways, one – is when Gods choose certain humans to be their followers. They are called the Chosen Ones.

Two – one could conquer the dungeons that had risen at various places on the seas and lands including the sky and gain powers.
Three – when a person uses artifacts that are imbued with powers.
There was a fourth way, that is, by slaying Gods and replacing them, but to date, no one had done that.
It was something that was pre-decided by heaven and those handfuls of pirates were called Monsters!
There were many Chosen ones most of which were Pirates since the Gods wanted someone to reach them.
More the followers a God had, the more would his divine power be. Hence, they made followers as if they were distributing sweets.
They were indeed compared with monsters as their strengths and powers were inhuman, but at the same time, the ones who joined the Sea Federation were called the Saviors as they kept a check on the pirates' powers.
"I wish there were no pirates... there would have been no problem...", said the same high official who asked to monopolize the area.
He wore specs and had curly mustaches.
"Hmm... it's too quiet too... and this silence is somewhat bugging me.", he said since the pirate cases had almost decreased.
"Could it be... the silence before another storm?", the man said this while looking at the dark starry sky.
.
.
.
"Waaaa... waaaa...", yet again the same crying was heard.
It was similar... way too similar but this time the Cry was so loud that it attracted many monsters of the sea.
Huge sharks which had sharp teeth, whales, and various other sea creatures such as giant octopuses, Kraken, and other beings appeared.
It seemed as if they were attracted to the voice.
The voice was coming from a young baby who was floating on the sea while being in a Basket that was broken on one side.
It seemed as if the seawater seeped in but failed to touch the baby.

"Waaa... waaa...", for some reason the monsters didn't approach him, instead they just glanced at him from a bit far and went away immediately after bowing to him.
It seemed as if they had come to pay him respect and no matter what kind of monster it was, as long as it belonged to the Sea it bowed in front of the boy.
But regardless of that, the baby boy kept floating on the cool chilly water while a reddish light was shining from the locket which he was wearing that was given by Eric.
It seemed as if the light formed a sphere around him and probably that was the reason why the water wasn't able to enter.
"Waaaa... waaaa...", the crying continued and the monsters also left one by one, and soon he was alone amidst the vast sea when suddenly a piece of land was visible.
There seemed as if someone was standing near the shore with a lamp in her hand and was sighing and crying when suddenly the person heard the crying sound from the distant dark.
"Waaaa... waaaa..."
"Huh...? This sound...? A baby...?", it was a lady who was standing there.
She looked here and there but couldn't find anyone nearby but then suddenly after hearing the crying sound again, she looked towards the sea only to find a basket from which a faint light was glowing.
"Eh? It can't be...", she rushed towards the basket which was still a bit far away from the shore since she realized that the sound might have been coming from the basket.
It took her a while to reach the basket but somehow she reached it and when she took a look, she could see a baby crying in it.
"Waaa... waaa..."
It seemed as if the baby was desperately trying to live.
"What do I do...? Should I...", she didn't know what to do but she definitely didn't have the heart to leave the baby there.
She immediately picked him up and rushed back toward the shore while carrying the basket too.
She saw a gleaming locket on his neck which attracted her but right now her main priority was to save the child.
She dashed towards her home the very next instant so that she could consult a doctor and probably this was the wisest choice which she had ever done.
Immediately after she left the shore, a huge sea creature appeared out of nowhere.
It was a serpent that had 5 heads. It had a red ruby on all of the heads and its eyes were gleaming.
"I fulfilled my promise...", immediately after saying that the serpent disappeared into the sea again.
No one was even aware of such a beast that existed. But there were many more mysteries unsolved.
Soon the lady arrived at the doctor's place and showed the child and the doctor diagnosed him.
He then analyzed him and told her that the baby was hungry. Then he asked for the baby's name as he thought that the child was hers.
"H-his name is...", she paused as she wasn't aware of his name. In fact, she had just met him.
"Is? What?", the doctor asked again. He was completely bald and was a bit old and strict and thus had almost no patience.
"You didn't even name your child?", he started asking many questions.
She didn't know how to answer them so she just shouted and said, "His name is Shiro!"

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
