《My Pirate System》Chapter 2: The Great Disaster Of Teraldis

It was raining...
Raining...
And continuously raining...
It was probably the first time ever in human history that such rain had occurred.
The Sky was covered with dark clouds. It was thundering continuously.
It felt as if the sky was roaring as the sound was more than enough to make the earth tremble.
It seemed as if it was the last day of Earth, and probably was some sort of bad omen as believed by others.
The lightning was even striking the ground due to which a small place caught fire where there were many dried and dead trees left.
The fire started to spread rapidly even in the rain. It seemed as if all the logic was being defied at the specific moment.
The Sea was roaring too and its level was rising rapidly.
.
.
.
"Hold onto the ropes! Don't let them go!!!", shouted one of the pirates who seemed like the captain of the crew.
It was quite a large ship that was sailing in the sea while trying to fight the storm that had arisen.
It was indeed a Black day in which the history's strongest storm blew over the seas.
"Aye aye captain!", shouted two of the crew members while pulling the ropes with all of their might.
They were rather muscular and strongly built and probably that was why they have specified that work.
'Damn... why now...? The Sea was so calm... why all of a sudden...?', the captain was thinking while struggling from the rain.
Everyone knew that the sea was unpredictable. The captain knew too, but despite that, he was causing a fuss and raising questions.
He didn't have any sort of patch on his eyes nor was one of his legs cut. He was a perfectly fine man.
In fact, he was quite well built and was quite large too. His red hair seemed black amidst the darkness. He could easily take down a huge Shark with only one of his fists, but he had never encountered anything of such sort in 3 years.

A shark was just a small thing, in fact, there were other gigantic creatures out there that were ten times more ferocious than any shark.
He might have become rusty but his strength hadn't depleted by any means.
"Uh..."
There were a total of 450 members on the crew including the captain who was continuously struggling from the seawater that was splashing and the rain too. There were 3 ships in total that belonged to him.
Many of them had already drunk a lot of the seawater but were still standing firmly while trying to save the ship from getting drowned in the massive sea.
As far as he could see, it was completely dark and the only thing that was emitting light was the 'Crystallite' that they had which was engraved into the lanterns or lamps.
Crystallites are a form of crystals that are used as a light source during the nighttime. The fire was convenient but during rainy times, it was the crystallite that was useful. Though getting them was hard since they cost a lot of fortune.
"Damn... this Sea is not the only problem...", the captain was worried because of the other ships that didn't belong to him which were aiming for his head.
They too were troubled but even during these times, they were firing the cannons aimlessly.
'BAM'
"Argh!", one of the 3 ships that belonged to this man sank and now only 2 ships were left with 310 crew members in total.
Other crew members either died from the explosion or drowned in the storm.
"Fire back!!!", he gave the order since he couldn't possibly sit back and watch this happen.
'I can't believe this. Did all the misfortune of my life strike me today altogether?'
It was indeed unfortunate. He was literally one of the strongest pirates ever known whose influence spread throughout the west. He had more than 5,000 strong crew members!

But his ambitions were very little due to which most of them betrayed him.
As some of them started getting high ranks and rose in power, they started to become cunning and thus the mishap happened.
He was being chased from the west and was nearly at the center of all seas where all these unknown things were happening.
'BAM'
Another shot landed on one of his ships which sank immediately as it was already damaged from before.
'Damn...', he regretted his decision of trusting all of them.
"I will kill you bastards!!!", he personally went and started firing shots from the cannon, and since his aim was so accurate and thanks to the mysterious powers that he had, the ships were sinking one by one quite quickly and easily.
Since many of them feared him, they slowed down a bit. Some even took deviations and went towards the other areas.
They did whatever they could in order to stay away from the range of the ship in which this man was sailing.
"Sigh... it's good that they are cautious... if they find out that the ship is out of shots then...", he was saying this when suddenly he felt a sense of uneasiness.
He could hear all his crew members shouting.
He slowly turned his head back in order to see what was happening when he found 3 giant whirlpools that were practically touching the sky laid in front of them.
"Oh my God...", was the only thing that he could say.
Many more such whirlpools appeared out of nowhere and started to destroy the ships.
One by one all of them were disappearing but even right now this man hasn't given up.
He tried all necessary means and did everything in his powers but ultimately his efforts changed to nothing and his crew and ship too vanished along with him.
All the other ships that were chasing him and were part of the conspiracy, disappeared too and some cops or the police of the seas also ended up vanishing.
And this was the great disaster that would be remembered years after as the second disaster of Teraldis!
Yes, it was the second time when such a disaster had occurred and without a doubt, this left a bigger mark in history.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

Naruto: The Ember Tomorrow
Synopsis: I enjoyed my job. I loved my life. I truly did not wish to die, but fate had other plans in store. Reborn into the body of Sasuke Uchiha just after the massacre of his clan, will I be able to forge a better path in this world of blood and death? Author's Note: This is a Naruto Isekai. I do not own Naruto nor am I making any monetary profit off of this fiction. It is purely for fun and growing my own skills as an author. This story will have many elements of the Naruto anime obviously, but there will be twists and turns. I don't much care for sticking too closely to canon. The fic will also delve somewhat into philosophy as the protagonist was a professor of such before his transmigration. I've marked the content tags of Gore, profanity, sexual content, and traumatizing content to allow myself the freedom to write as needed, but am unlikely to be excessively explicit in any of these areas; still, better to have the tag and the freedom as needed. Anyways, I hope you enjoy and feedback is always welcome.

The Awakened
Mark was a data analyst that had recently landed a job in a company and his life was pretty normal if not a bit boring through upon meeting a mugger in an alley his life had a drastic change not neccesarily for the better. He stopped being a sleeper and saw a glimpse of the true form of the world which opened his eyes to a new life altogether. ============================================================================================== This is my first fiction and i am loosely basing this on Mage:The Awakening rulebook. Naturally i am going to change things a bit but i don't intend to make this a novel where the main character goes around changing the whole world. It will be based on a normal guy discovering a new world while trying to find his place in it. Also please write comments warning me about things such as development speed or unrealistic relations.
