I Arlyn, templar knight of the Holy Luvius Empire, write this report to the council of the order.
Praise Ghrian the Lady of Light, and her merciful gifts. Glory to the Silver Champion Gealach, and the strength she bestows. Hail Realta, may the Overseer of Wisdom teach us all. May the trine goddesses and their children watch over us all.
In the village of Wicklow, I have been granted victory over the aes sídhe witch. The Witch Yseult was one of the cat sìth. Gealach granted me the strength to prevail, but during the battle I succumbed to her venom and breathed her death ashes.
By the mercy of the Lady of Light, I have recovered. I have reason to believe that several wolves of Osraighe are hunting in these forests. During my investigation into the matter, I came under attack from a beithir. My arm has been scarred with stone. Through their wills, I am able to continue as an instrument of the blessed trine.
Great darkness hides in these woods, far from the light of the holy empire. Yet, good people remain and strive to live in peace. I will uphold my sacred oath to be the light that stands against the darkness, no matter the cost.
May prudence set my path, may fortitude and temperance keep me to that path, and may justice wait for me at the end of my path. May faith take over where mortal virtues fail.

As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.

I haven't completely fleshed out the prophecy yet but I wanted to include it because it is an important part of the story. I have decided it would be better to spend some time figuring out the world I am creating and work out all the kinks in the story. I have done a lot of editing in the first seven chapters already. For now, updating will be scarce. I will post all of part one once I am happy with what I have written. I will leave what I have up, but please let me know what you think. I do not own the image I used for the cover.
