Chapter 9: Party

We walked down to floor 15, apparently the most common floor for goblins to spawn.

We got into a formation optimized for fighting monsters. Buhrruhd was in front, with his ball and chain, ready to smash a goblin’s head in. I was on the left and back side of Buhrruhd, ready to slice with my sword. Anku was on the right and back side of Buhrruhd, slightly scared to move forward, but still going to use his dagger if needed. Redrae was in the very back, with many healing potions at the ready, along with a bow and arrow, and dagger if need be.

We were slowly killing slimes from floor 1-3, when there were some goblins mixed in every once and a while, but when we got to floor 15, there were goblins on every corner.

Every minute was a new battle, a new chance to destroy the foul monster that is a distant distant cousin of the monster that killed Jhounka.

Slashing with my sword was exhilarating. I would run as fast as I could, while using stun magic on the target goblin, and slash through the target.

My sword was covered in blood, which I just shook off.

Together, the team killed goblin after goblin, and eventually hit our second quota.

We killed 30 goblins, a feat that showed that we as a team could work well together.

We walked back to the guild to collect our reward, while the rest of the group had a conversation.

“Buhrruhd, your attacks have grown so much stronger! You really are just as strong as you look!” said Redrae.

“Ah, I’ve got much more than that!” responded Buhrruhd, flexing.

“W- what about me?” Anku asked Redrae hopefully,

“You barely did anything. You should work as hard as me!” Buhrruhd responded in Redrae’s place.

“No! Anku, you… Um, uh… Attracted more monsters! You look so weak the goblins couldn’t resist!” said Redrae who was failing to compliment Anku.

“Hey!” said Anku. This made Buhrruhd laugh, which triggered Redrae and Anku to do the same.

I, however, walked behind. I belonged in the group for my strength, not my communication skills. After all, I might be the one to kill these people.

I left the group when we passed my inn.

“Bye Iro!” said Redrae.

I walked up the small staircase to my room. I walked into the room, to be greeted by Emi. She sat in the room, waiting. It sort of reminded me of Gowa.

Ugh! Don’t remember that lie of a human being!

“You really should go home.” I said to Emi,

“Is that what you say to someone who caringly waited for you the entire day!?” Emi responded.

“Not when they’re sitting in the room I bought and probably going to eat the food I buy.”

“Well… I still haven’t paid you back yet… With my service…”

“I don’t want your service!” I yelled, pretty much done with this girl trying to stay with me.

“Alright then! I’ll just have to go with Uoun!”

“It should have been that way from the start.”
