《Adventure With A System》Chapter 7

At this time everyone was out on the field, and everyone was sparring so that the Professor whos name was Hank Ginger, could see what skill level they were at for actual combat, and combat strategy. Well not everyone was sparring, because Dexter was trying to think of a way to kill one of them, and bring them back to life without anyone noticing. He then heard something that made his plan complete.
"Why doesn't the host just use the Excaliburs shapeshifting powers?"
Dexter was surprised by this comment, because in the legends the Excalibur was just a powerful sword that chose it's owner. But then he remember the name the system gave it. {Perfected Excalibur}. It now had everything that could make it the best weapon to ever exist. Dexter thought that maybe he should use it more.
"Wait system why are you just now telling me about this?"
"Well you ignored it for 4 years so I thought you didn't care about it."
"Maybe if you told me at first I wouldn've ignored it."
"Wait is the Host blaming his problems on me? I am not the one who makes decisions for you, and you chose not to look into that sword even when the most powerful deity told you at its peak it could kill anything existent to man."
".....Systems can talk back?"
After Dexter fought with the system in his head he pulled out the Excalibur in the shape of guantlets. He thought he could punch one of them so hard they'd die, and bring them back to life right after they died if he was touching them the whole time.
When the 3 saw him pull out guantlets even though everyone else was using swords, guns (they're superhumans think about it), or staffs they thought he was being cocky at first, but they then remembered how they met, and not to underestimate him. They started to get prepared, and get in their stances. When they were ready Dexter was getting used to his guantlets. Since they believed they had time they started conversing, and making a plan, and in the end they decided to flank him, because he started staring at them and letting off pressure before they could make a full proof plan. When they started to get back to stance, Ben,and Mya saw red liquid, and 2 bodies fly past them in the corners of their eyes.

"Congratulations host for completing part 1 of Perfected Excaliburs Legacy. You have unlocked the ability to control Excalibur with your mind, and you can discharge him for a distance equivalent to your intelligence(999). So you control the area within 999 meters of you and your sword. Unlocked Stage 2.
Stage 2: Prove your loyalty.
No description.
When Dexter saw this he frowned but didn't lose his guard and start thinking of what this could mean, because he had to revive Ralph. Ralph was brought back to life after being sent flying like a ragdoll, and having his body punched dry of blood. He was unconscious still when Dexter revived him, but he'd be alright.
Ben and Mya saw this, and Ben went even stiffer than before, and fainted while still standing. While Mya was staring wide eyed while in a cold sweat.
Dexter didn't care and he just stared at both of them, before the teacher ran over, and stopped the spar, and got Ralph taken to the nurses office. He had to get a blood transfusion, and an IV drip, because he had the blood punched out of him, and if he didn't have powers/qi/ki/energy/chakra to heal him automatically, then he would've been dead already even if he was revived. He only had 1 pint of blood left, and his body was in critical condition, and was overclocking. Luckily the nurse had healing powers, and could calm it down. Otherwise the whole school would've been sued for negligence over a sparring match.
They couldn't blame Dexter, because they put him with students weaker than him by a wide margine, and they knew how strong he was, so he got away scot free. He also didn't get any chastisement, or punishment from the professor, because he knew it was his fault too.
Dexter was laying down in his bed trying to go to sleep when he heard a noise. He woke up only to find a tranquilizer in his neck.
Little did the attacker know, Dexter was immune to all poisons.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
