The surrounding area around the monsters was all destroyed. The Baker's house was already in ruins, and the monsters were already walking past it. The people living here all seemed to be dead or already ran away. It was just us and the monsters. Liam looked at me and asked, "Shouldn't the Grey Wolves be here by now? Why aren't they here? Where is the baker and Lily too?"
I looked back at him and responded, "I think I heard the baker say he had to make a delivery today so he may be there with Lily, and maybe the Grey Wolves are just tired from all the adventuring out there and are sleeping in."
I said all of this to try and lighten the mood and calm Liam down. In reality I never heard the old baker say that, and he was probably still in that flattened house now. We need to focus right now on the problems in front of us, and not on one's in the past that we can't prevent anymore. Maybe the old baker and Lily was able to avoid this shit anyway. No need to worry, right? The three monsters were huge. The biggest one was in the middle and flanked by the other two. The biggest one had a clubs for hands, and he seemed to be hot to the touch from all the steam coming off him. The steam also made it impossible to see any other features of him. The monster on the left looked like it was made of pure ice. It had spikes of ice protruding out of its shoulders, and it was shooting out spikes of ice from its fingers. The one on the right looked like it was a walking tree. He slammed his hands on the ground sometimes, and roots seemed to make a beeline to a building and engulf it. This was going to be tough, but we may be able to do it with Liam's dark magic and my newly acquired sword right?

I looked over toward Liam and asked, "Soooo, which one you want to take first? The tree one looks most doable. What do you think?"
He put on a brave face but his emerald eyes screamed out in terror. He looked at me and answered, "I'll follow you wherever."
The monsters were nearly upon us, as they were on their way to the middle of the city. I looked toward him and told him, "Then let's go kick some ass."
Just as we were about to take off into action against the tree monster, a huge explosion stopped us in our tracks. Captain Steyne and the Grey wolves were finally here. Captain Steyne took on the ice monster by himself, and Vice Captain Wayne and that girl took on the tree monster. Liam never mentioned how beautiful this girl was! She had snow white hair, with a braid on the left side of it, her skin was smooth and fair, her eyes were sky blue, and an athletic body. How could he leave something like this out in retelling the story of my unconsciousness. I need to talk to him about this after. No one took on the steam one in the middle though, but they seemed like they could handle it. Liam looked back at me and asked with pitiful eyes, "They seem like they can handle this. Can we please go now?"
I looked back with regretful eyes and simultaneously answered, "I gue-"
Before I could answer I spotted Lily with debris from the house on top of her. I tapped Liam on the shoulder and pointed to her. His eyes immediately went from desperate to determined. He turned to me and told me, "I'm not leaving her here! You can go if you want to."

I looked back at him and put on a wry smile, "I'm with you all the way bro. We need a plan though."
Just then, before we could speak another word, Captain Steyne finished off the ice monster, and it was falling straight back on top of Lily. She would be crushed! Liam without thinking immediately used his dark magic to shoot towards Lily to save her. The look on Captain Steyne's face was pure shock. Right when he was about to get there though, the steamed monster everyone forgot about, reached out and was about to crush him with his club hands!

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

Blind As a Bat [1st book complete]
Book 1 He was cast to the edges of his clan. His father could not stand to even look at him. His baby sister probably didn't even know he was her brother... All because he, unlike all other vampire (The correct terminology will be Wanpyrkos; van-peer-coe-s) kind, was born blind. And what do all creatures do to those that are different, those that do not fit society, those that they think should not have been born to this civilized society...? [Book Cover Made by the wonderful THEMIDNIGHTECLIPSE13] - thank you! I'm only introducing the perspective of the main character for the first part. Things change drastically soon after that. [BDSM entries are clearly marked and written so they can be skipped without affecting the story] ***A couple scenes to whet your palate*** 1. "Uh, we heal from pretty much everything and anything. Have you ever tried physically damaging your eyes to see if they would fully heal?" "N-no. No, it doesn't work," I forced out, my voice a little strangled and cracking before hardening. "And stuff like that, isn't that just wrong?! Hurting someone just to 'fix' them." 2. I leaned and he met me, our soft lips touching and moving perfectly on each other's. I felt as his tongue ran the slit of my lips, my tongue coming to graze it as it passed over, knowing doing so was like catnip to him. He leaned closer, and I shivered as his hands ran from low on my hips and grazed along and up my ribs, pulling my chest closer to his so my body arched and rubbed against him. I hummed in appreciation. [warning: so far aggressive or physical bullying and maybe a little kidnappage and sexual themes as well as possible trigger warnings]
