After a while of dragging the dead corpse, Skoll lets go of the rope and sits down due to being exhausted. "I need to take a break."
"Fine, but we continue in ten minutes." Fenrir says.
Luna sits down as well, leaning up against a tree. She is just as exhausted as Skoll is, but doesn't want to show it. 'It's good to finally take a short break. Fenrir seems to be worried about something and wants to get home quickly. This isn't like him, I remember when he never worried about anything. I dont like seeing him like this, I want him to be how he used to be.'
Fenrir sits down, still holding the rope looking around for any signs of danger. His fear of not being strong enough to protect his siblings was driving him insane. 'We shouldn't stay out here for longer than we need to. I dont know why I'm feeling this sense of dread coming over me. We've been out here before, but this time it feels different.'
Skoll looks like he is about to fall asleep. 'I'm so tired, why can't I be a morning person like the rest of my family? No, even better, why can't they be a night owl like I am? At least then I wouldn't have to wake up so early.'
A few minutes later, Fenrir stands up and stretches his limbs to loosen his tense muscles. "Alright, it's time to get going."
Skoll stands up quickly and interjects. "It hasn't been ten minutes yet. Even though I'm half asleep, I can still tell how much time has passed. Look Fenrir, I think you're in too much of a hurry to get back home when there is no reason too."
Luna stands up as well. "I agree with Skoll, you seemed worried about something and that's why you want to get home in a rush."
Fenrir would never admit that he was scared of the dangers that could befall them in these woods. Being out here even if they are relatively close to home, is still like being out by themselves in the real world. But he wasn't scared of what would happen to him, he was afraid of what could happen to his siblings. "The less time we spend out here the better. We should be getting home where it's safe."
"Why wouldn't it be safe out here? No humans come into the forest this far, in fact, we have never seen a human before unless you count mother who is in a human form." Luna says.

Fenrir starts to get angry at her arrogance. "You dont know that. One day we might run into one out here, the more time we waste out here the better our chances of seeing one are. Suriel told me it was my job to keep you all safe out here, and that's what I'm trying to do."
"Why would you call mother by her first name? You never did that before. Something is definitely bothering you, and you need to tell us what it is."
"Fine, you really want to know. Suriel keeps telling us about all of the dangers that could happen if the humans found out about us. And yet she hasn't taught us how to use magic to defend ourselves with. Yes, I know energy control is important to master first, but letting us hunt like this on our own is insane."
"I think you're just scared, Mother knows what she is doing. You need to trust her, there are no humans around here with enough magical power that we couldn't handle with simple weapons."
Luna was right, Fenrir was scared of what could happen to them out here. However, she was also right about humans around this village not having powerful magical power. The average human in Fura, mostly uses magic for everyday chores and to get their jobs done faster. Fenrir's fear of the dangers he thought could happen, is making him lash out at Suriel for not teaching them magic yet.
"Do you ever wonder if Suriel really loves us? Sure she saved our lives and raised us, but she isn't our real mother, the only reason why she saved us is that she felt sorry for us."
Luna looks at him like she didn't know who he was anymore. "How can you say that? Of course, she does, do you realize how much she sacrificed in order to keep us safe?"
Skoll walks over to Luna and stands beside her. "Luna is right Fenrir, but I understand what your saying. However, just because we aren't related by blood doesn't mean she loved us any less."
Fenrir realized he is acting out towards Suriel unreasonably, and doesn't want to upset his siblings. "I dont want to argue with the two of you. I guess I'm just directing my frustrations towards our mother. Let's just drop all of this and head home."
"Now you're starting to sound like yourself again. Yeah, let's head home." Luna says.
It takes an hour to drag the animal back home. As they are reaching their destination, they notice thst something is wrong. As they watch the house from within the woods surrounding the house they see what looks like armed soldiers. Most of the soldiers wear chainmail armor, a shield with a raven logo on it and a spear in their hand. There is one that stands out from the rest, a mage wearing robes with a raven logo on the back and a hood covering their head.

As Skoll and Fenrir watch in confusion, Luna is the first one to speak. "Who do you think they are, and what do they want?"
Fenrir responds in a calm voice. "Whatever they are doing here can't be good. We need to stay out of this and watch from a distance."
Skoll seems frustrated at his idea of staying out of this. "What about our mother, if they mean her harm we can't just sit back and do nothing."
Fenrir grabs Skoll by his shirt. "And what can we do against that army? I agree that we may have to help her, but we have to be smart about this and wait for the right opportunity."
This is exactly what Fenrir was afraid of, but he never expected humans to come looking for them. 'Where is Suriel? Have they already gotten to her already?'
While they were trying to figure out what to do, a figure was approaching them from behind, wearing the same mage robes like the other one they saw. "Well, what do we have here." Startled, the wolves turn around as a female mage approaches them. "So the rumors are true, there are such things as humanoid wolves."
Without hesitation, Luna brings her bow up to shoot her, but Fenrir is quick to act putting his hand on her arm forcing her to lower her bow.
The mage smiles at Fenrir. "You're a smart pup aren't you? It seems you noticed the difference between our strength, to be able to sense magical power at such a young age is impressive."
'What is she talking about?' Fenrir thought to himself. 'Is that the feeling that I'm getting from her? Is that why I started getting the feeling that something was wrong before? I started freaking out because I can sense magical energy?'
"I must apologize, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Elenor Hallway, Master Rank 1 of the kings army." She points to a green-dyed horsehair tassel wrapped around her robes indicating her rank. "I'm sure the three of you have some questions, but before I answer any of your questions I have a few of my own. Why dont the three of you come with me and get this mess sorted out."
The wolves realizing the situation that they are in, agree that they don't have a choice but to do what she says. Eleanor leads them out towards the soldiers, motioning to them that their job is done here. She leads everyone towards the village of Kalda, the soldiers following close behind the wolves keeping a close eye in them.
Luna leans close to Fenrir and whispers to him. "What do you think they want with us?"
Keeping his eyes forward Fenrir answers her. "I dont know. But we should consider ourselves lucky that they haven't killed us yet. If they wanted us dead they would have done it already."
As they approach the village, the local townsfolk stop the work they are doing to watch and stare at the approaching soldiers and the wolves they are escorting. The village is a small one with only a few hundred residents, there are a few markets set up selling various goods from food to everyday needed items. This is the first time the wolves have been in the village. This is also the first time they have seen it, because they have been warned by Suriel not to venture too close to the village.
Elenor stops at the village inn and motions to the wolves to enter. After they open the door and walk inside, they notice the place is void of any local townspeople and is instead inhabited by a few soldiers and what looks like another mage with the same raven logo on their robes. "Ah, you finally found them haven't you Elenor. Good work, that didn't take too much time at all. Now we can finally get to business."
The wolves look at each other in confusion, trying to process the situation. Skoll at this point can't keep himself calm as his hands are shaking. 'This can't be good. Where is Suriel? I just want to go home.'
Luna notices Skolls inability to calm himself down, and tells him that everything will be fine. Fenrir, on the other hand, keeps his composer knowing that it's for his own good that he doesn't show any weakness.
The mage in the inn gets up from his chair and addresses the wolves. "Don't worry, none of you are in trouble, right now we just want to ask you a few questions."
