《Reflection of Another World》Chapter 14 : Hunting Game

Lei and Sora transported Loki to the cave. He was not injured, but he had been under great psychological pressure for some time. Although Lei's invocations were more energy-consuming, Loki was less enduring and he had maintained his invocation much longer.
Only arcanists of the level of Sora or higher are capable of sustaining their simplest invocations, in other words arcanists of rank B to B+ at the very least. Beyond that, their natural production of Enkainias was not sufficient to ensure its maintenance.
In the team, only Sora and Lily are therefore able to fight without almost ever running out of energy. On the condition that their invocations are not too energy consuming.
The two girls laid Loki down on a small pile of leaves. Lily remained at his bedside, while Sora went to fetch water from the nearby river.
More than just a river, it was a small stream with many rapids. It wasn't really easy to get water from it, but Lei's singularity made things much easier. Although it only made her more exhausted, she had still decided to do it, and they didn't really think they would fight any more during that day.
The two girls went home and began to grill meat for lunch. Loki woke up shortly before lunch was ready. So they decided to take stock of the situation by eating their meal around the fire. Loki was the first to speak.
"I don't think I can fight anymore for today, to be honest."
Lei looked at him and sighed:
"I'm in the same situation. I can still easily use my katana, but it will be difficult for me to reuse my singularity without suffering the consequences. I think we should rest for the end of the day."
Sora, on the other hand, did not share this opinion.
"I think we should explore the region more. This pack was relatively large, and quite confident, almost authoritarian. I don't think there are many other wolves around, and I'm still able to fight if we were to face the two survivors."

"For my part, I am of the same opinion as Sora. We can't afford to waste any more time. It has already taken us two days to reach this place. Although on this third day we have already killed five wolves, it won't be enough. No one is truly injured, we should at least send two people to explore the area so that we know where to go from tomorrow."
The four members of the group quickly came to an agreement.
"Good, Lily, Sora, you will go and explore the surroundings. Personally, I will rest here with Loki, to protect him if necessary. It's best that we stay in groups of at least two so that we don't take any risks. Above all, avoid fighting at all costs!"
" " Good " "
Sora and Lily left quickly. Indeed, it was already 2.00 pm, and unfortunately night was falling fast. They decided to continue walking along the cliff in the same direction as the day before. Their journey was only a short one, because after a few hundred meters they faced what looked like a gigantic valley. They decided not to continue, because at the bottom of this valley many wolf howls could be heard.
"Let's go home, Lily. "
"Yes, I think we should continue to explore around here tomorrow. "
The two girls thus entered the cave. When they returned, Loki was asleep, while Lei was already preparing the evening meal. Unfortunately, for the sixth time in a row, they ate foxes. The meat of the canids was unfortunately full of toxins and easily carried diseases, so it was not really safe for humans to eat. In order to prevent possible risks, they decided not to eat these wolves. Lei had therefore made sure to hide the bodies so as not to attract anything in the vicinity.
The three girls quickly discussed the path they would take the next day. This valley was so huge that they were already talking about spending the week in this cave and gradually exploring the neighbouring valley.

When the meal was ready, they woke Loki up and ate quickly before going to bed. They decided to go to bed early in order to get up at dawn the next day. This way their time will be all the more available as they will have time to get to the cave before nightfall.
The next day, the four cave dwellers woke gently to the songs of the forest birds. These graceful songs offered a little tenderness to them, soothing their spirits. Thus, even for a person as difficult to wake up as Sora, it was relatively easy for her this time.
Everyone did his or her morning toilet, or at least what was possible to do in the middle of the forest in any case. Luckily, it was easy for them to wash themselves thanks to Lily's singularity. On the other hand, they had to rely on the natural drying of their hair. Although they were also able to clean their clothes, they were not able to change them either.
Soon, each of them was ready to leave, and so they set off for the valley. Their morning exploration occurred without incident. They encountered some wild animals, but nothing problematic, as they were only small predators, or herbivores.
The afternoon, on the other hand, was much more eventful. Only an hour after their meal, they met a small pack of wolves, much weaker than yesterday's pack. They easily managed to confront them, and managed to kill two of them before the last two ran away. They were a little disappointed, as their count was not really rising, as many targets were fleeing at each fight.
Thus ended the first day, because after this fight they decided to return home again, to their cave. Once again, no one was hurt. This time Loki had used his singularity sparingly, so he was able to keep conscious. Unfortunately, he was still greatly exhausted, and so was Lei. Sora and Loki, for their part, only felt a vague tingling in their calves from walking. What was certain was that they were not unhappy once back in their cave.
So the routine continued for three days. They eliminated several wolf packs and were feared by many of the remaining predators in the valley. So much so that in four days the western part of the valley seemed completely explored. They therefore agreed to continue their hunt on the eastern side of the valley.
This area was slightly less wooded. It was mainly characterised by its difference in altitude. Indeed, by pure contrast with the western part of this valley, which was relatively flat, the east was directly towards the Misty Mountains.
The exploration was then even more tiring. This area was also much less lively. During their first exploration, they encountered almost no wild animals, and mostly harmless herbivores.
However, it was on their second day of hunting in this area that things began to change. Firstly, on that day the mist was particularly thick. Visibility was almost nil and it was difficult to find your way around. Nevertheless, they managed to do so thanks to the marks left by Lei during their repeated passages.
Fog was not the only problem that day. The clouds were extremely dark, and a thunderstorm broke out in the valley. The level of the rivers had risen greatly, making some corners difficult to explore. The wind was strong, with gusts ripping off leaves, branches and sometimes even whole trees.
The group was eventually forced to cross a raging stream if they wished to continue their exploration. Fortunately, the stream was usually calm and small, so the raging version was not a big problem for them either. It was only after crossing it that problems arose: a powerful growl was heard, capable of chilling the blood of the bravest people. It was so powerful that Sora trembled to the depths of her soul.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Quebracho: The Legend of Two Heroes
After a violent and tough battle, you recover in an infirmary with your fellow soldiers, or in a more relatable scenario, visit your friend's house after a hard day of studying. You’d expect that both of them would play out normally for the most part, right? Well... Maxon Cortez and Jason McGuire had the same thoughts too. Yet, fate has different plans for them: Max ends up in an eerie location he doesn’t recognize and Jace gets transported to an entirely different world that works like a video game (sort of) by walking into a portal. As they travel along the lands, the two of them will encounter other individuals of many kinds, make friends new and old, gain powerful abilities, experience spectacular adventures, and obtain priceless treasures. However, Maxon and Jason will unknowingly become integral parts of a nefarious conspiracy that, if successful, will plunge both of their worlds into eternal chaos and darkness. So it’s up to them and their allies to thwart it. Side-Note: I’ll admit right off the bat that this story will be my first attempt at writing a LitRPG, so the in-game mechanics and terminology will probably look weird and be even nonsensical. If you notice something that’s out-of-place or just flat out wrong, I apologize. Not only that, it's been a while since I've wrote anything and thus I'm a little bit rusty. So please bear with me. New chapters once every Saturday or Sunday. Also, I'll be fine-tuning the grammar, punctuation, and spelling when I have the time. So expect a lot of random edits. Allister Hale's Story Graveyard.
You've tried to write a story yes? So have I, Many times. I get a good vibe going, type a few pages worth of content then reach the point it gets the tiniest bit hard. Thing is, some of those stories are good, the kind of good that gets people excited and then disapointed when they cut off abruptly and without warning before fifteen chapters. So content Warning, none of theese little stories come to any kind of conclusion. A couple are just different attempts at the same idea (some with the same characters no less)They are also raw and uneddited, and no i wont be fixing them.I don't think any of them deserve any additional content warnings, as I'm not interested in writting those sorts of stories, but please read with caution.
