004 The Custom Gamer System
[ The Bottom]
"So, where am I now?" I ask, already knowing the answer.
[Pretty much.
Okay, let's move on. Next and Hopefully the last topic will be about your custom Gamer system.
Think or say Main Menu once again with the intention of opening the Main Menu.]
Thinking of opening the main menu once again opens a bright blue screen in mid-air right in front of me with silver accents and writing. The words main menu in large capital letters at the top with only 3 options below it.
[MAIN MENU
Status-
Gacha-
Quests- ]
"Only three options, What happened to skills, system options, shop, and the inventory?" bringing up all the options under the main menu I could remember from different gamer fictions.
[I did say it was a Custom Gamer system, hahaha. Open Status, and I will start explaining things.]
[Rical Phenex

Age - 16

I Immediately notice the tab at the bottom, which is skills. At least I have skills, but it looks like it will be different from what I thought it would be.
[The first thing that you will have to take notice of is your points, as it is essential. You will get points from quests and from killing other creatures, whether they be monsters or Humanoid beings. These points will be used on the Gacha System that your Gamer System revolves around.
For now, let us focus on your Status. Age and race are self-explanatory, so I will not say anymore on that.
Bloodline is also self-explanatory but what is not is the Mutated Phenex next to it. Again, this goes back to the Demonic Parasit we talked about earlier.

When Rical Phenex's body was repurposed for your use, the parasite's body was still in your new body. So to fix this, I empowered the Hellfire that you already had as a Phenex clan member to refine the parasite and add its essence, so to speak, into your bloodline, mutating it in the process. And this gave you the Parasitic Hellflame Ability.
To answer your earlier question about what this Ability does. The Ability devours all energy that your flames produce after they have burned an organic, converting it to whatever energy your body needs at the time. Whether it be demonic energy, stamina, or even mental energy if you get a psychic type ability later. The side effect of this is that your flames will not produce any heat outside of the flames.]
So my flames will not burn anything they are not directly touching. This could be a good thing to make people underestimate me. People will think my flames don't produce and heat and underestimate it.
[As you can see, you do not have levels or stats as a typical gamer would have as you will only be able to raise your strength through training, for now at least. The Life energy usually taken from defeated foes will be instead turned into points that can be used in the gacha, for now.
You can obtain abilities that can also use these points to strengthen itself.
And before you ask, the reason you don't have health points is that the concept of health points belongs to the skill Gamers Body, which you do not have but could acquire in the future.]
"You keep saying for now, what do you mean by that?"
[And that question brings us to the next part of your system in the main menu, Gacha.
Gacha, as I'm sure you are aware, is basically a lottery, and with most lottery's, you have to pay for it. As I said, the currency you will use is the points you will receive from battles and quests.

1000 Points will get you one ticket to use the gacha. When used, the Gacha will go off twice. The first time will be a category. There are five categories. The categories are as follows, Abilities, Gamer features, Items, Skills, and Knowledge. The second time the Gacha goes off will be the prize related to that category.
Any last questions?]
"Yes, just one whats the differences between each category?"
[Okay, Abilities are superpowers, bloodline traits, or psychic power. Basically, anything that can be counted as a power.
Gamer features are how you improve your game. It could be anything related to the game, from a point shop to being able to level up.
Knowledge is any information you can acquire from the Gacha, such as techniques and manuals on portioning.
Items are any physical object from swords to summon crystals.
And finally, skills are the knowledge you have begun to master, such as sword mastery, etc.
You Understand all that?]
"Yeah, I think so."
[And finally, we come to quests. Quests are missions issued by the system. Quests will not be situational. What I mean by that is, if you are about to die, you will not receive a quest to save yourself. Surviving is your reward.
Quests will be more along the lines of, if you succeed in doing this you will get this amount of points etc.
An example of a quest will look like this.
{ROAD OF A HAREM KING
Meet 1 Satan(s) - REWARD 100 POINTS
Meet 2 Satan(s) - REWARD 200 POINTS
ETC}
Well, I'm done with my explanations. Anything else you want to know.]
"No, I'm good."
[Excellent]
"Okay, well, I guess this is goodbye."
[Till next time, kid.]
Undisclosed Sitri Private Hospital
Doctors patient office.
3rd POV
"Hello Lord and Lady Phenex." Says a middle-aged doctor with black hair slicked back and an immaculate white coat. "I am sorry to call you so urgently."
"Just get on with it already!" Snaps a clearly annoyed Lord Phenex, That clearly does not want to be here.
"Let the man do his job!" Shouts lady Phenex to lord Phenex clearly anxious to hear what the doctor has to say. Worried for her fourth son.
"I'm sorry to inform you, but Young Master Rical Phenex Has Sucomned from his disease and has passed away." Hearing this, Lady Phenex collapses to her knees, tears slowly seeping out on her blue eyes down her porcelain skin but never reaching the floor. The tears simply evaporate before they hit the floor.
'Good Riddance.' Thinks lord Phenex while he tries to comfort his distraught wife. 'The child was just a burden and a stain on the Phenex clan's immortal reputation.' Not even caring that it was his flesh and blood.
"Doctor, Doctor!" Barges in a frantic nurse. Seeing the nurse's face, the doctor immediately goes on alert.
"What happened." Asked the doctor.
"It's Rical Phenex, his entire body burst into bright orange flames, and we can't put it out."
The doctor, not even answering the nurse, runs out of the office to see what has happened. This is followed by A frantic lady Phenex and an even more annoyed Lord Phenex thinking. 'Even in death, he causes problems.'
Arriving at the high-class room of the young Phenex, expecting a lot of heat but finding a boy sitting up looking at him.
"That, that's not possible you were dead. I was there when you flat-lined." Clearly flabbergasted never having a patient that's been dead just coming back to life.
"I am a Phenex doctor." Says the new and improved Rical Phenex with a chuckle.

8 230Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

8 150Taken to Another World by Mistake
I was once a typical high schooler. Then those horrible godesses abducted me to their world and made me a hero. Sounds great being a hero doesn't it? Well, my super power, my cheat is to be able to see what those horrible goddesses think of my current stats. Yea, uh if you ever figure out how to make that useful please let me know. In exchange they cursed me...repeatedly. Something about trying to get rid of some negative energy. With my best friend, George the termite, I will crawl up from the bottom and live the good life. If I can avoid all the adventures that come my way since I am a "hero". Author's Note: This is my first time. Go easy on me. :) Criticism and thoughts are always very welcome. I have already written the first 20 chapters. I will release at least a chapter a week and hopefully one a day for the first few weeks.
