《The Devourer》Chapter 5:Daredevil

It's been 30 minutes.
The Lizard is sound asleep in the same position, with its back touching the tree. I tried not to move because I wanted to be careful for it might wake me up. I am still not completely sure whether it will wake up or not but I have to move.
I start moving from branch to branch and go down as slowly as possible. When I reach a branch, that was almost 4 meters above the lizard, I use appraisal and hope that it works.
All of a sudden, a screen pops in front of me.
[Giant Metal Lizard]
A metallic, lizard-like creature that has scales as hard as iron. It can heal itself by absorbing metal.
Gender: Female
Level: 80
Stats
Vitality: 90 Agility: 43
Stamina: 86 Strength: 95
Intelligence: 9 Dexterity: 34
I read its status and there were some things wrong with it, like having no charm or luck, but I only focused on one part.
It was healing.
That was very bad news for me because when it's healed, it will start to move around. When it starts to move around, it will go to the nest and things are gonna get ugly. I have to get out of here but there is a chance the lizard might wake up. It has higher agility and enough strength to chase me, seeing that it could bend those trees and come here while being injured.
I was thinking of ways to escape when it hit me ‘why do I want to run. I am not in any kind of danger at the moment and the lizard is injured, shouldn’t I finish it off.
‘Can I finish it off?’ I think to myself.
I open my stats and skills to check for any way I could kill it. I started reading their details and thinking. After a few minutes, I got an idea. A very scary and daring idea but if it worked, I could get out of this danger and get quite a few goodies. It's a high-risk high-reward kinda idea but the only one I can think of.

I take in a big breath and release it. My mind is made up and I am ready. I move up to a higher branch. I use [Metal Handling] and break a big thick branch near me as quietly as possible. I again use the same skill to sharpen one of its ends. if anyone saw me, they could easily guess what ill was doing.
Yes, I’ll jump off the tree and try to shove this branch in the lizard’s wound.
There are a couple of reasons I think this is gonna work. One, I am using the branch from one of the sharpest and strongest trees, which should probably go through its wound that is still healing. Two, I’ll be safe from fall damage because of my new body, and hoping that the lizard's stomach is soft enough to not hurt. It's a stupid plan and there might be something other than people could do in this situation. But I have no time, so here I go.
I take a few big breaths and walk on the branch to position myself. I set myself in position and align the metal spike. After thinking about this little stunt of mine a bit more I jump and let gravity do its work.
As I was falling, my heart was thumping like never before and I forgot to breathe. I was getting closer and closer when finally the spike when through the lizard-like knife through butter. There was no resistance whatsoever, the lizard had no time to even roar or hiss and was skewered just like that. I heard no noise other than the spike hitting the ground with a *bang*. I was also with no injuries. Just as I thought, the lizard’s stomach was as soft as it looked.
I still can't believe I did what I just did. I could have run and might have escaped, but if I were to do that then nothing would change and I would keep running and running.
‘It was a stupid idea but I am glad I did it I thought to myself as a blue screen was in front of me.

The Great Game was now populated by players from millions of different civilisations across countless galaxies. Braizo is forced into the Great Game by an old enemy in an attempt to kill him, but instead of dying Braizo receives a special ability that is both a curse and a blessing.
