"Whoah, that's cool. Not too useful here but still cool." I said to Tide who was so proud of his creation he was holding his hands over his heart. It was like he was looking at an adorable puppy.

"Thank you, Thorn, maybe with my golem, I can be more useful to you. "

"Bah! Your plenty useful. Now let's find a way out of this room, or is it another puzzle? "

"It's probably another puzzle. We're Doomed! ", Tide said dramatically as his foot stepped on a circular tile in the center of the room, activating something. Our path in killing the elementals had led us in a big circle around the center of the room.

I could hear the grinding of gears behind the walls and runes began to glow on floor beneath us.

We both had the same thought and retreated to the edge of the room.

More and more runes lit up and an enormous 20 feet tall flame elemental appeared.

Tide was stunned, " We can't kill that thing.."

His words were cut off because I was already halfway to the elemental, with my magical swords in hand.

He quickly drew the rune and cast active camouflage on me before I entered the bosses range.

The spell worked wonderfully even against the boss and I was able to approach him and get off a sneak attack infused with rapid strikes.

As soon as I attacked the elemental began to draw a rune. It looked like a big X, and I hoped it was the rune for flame burst because I ran exactly 12 feet away and waited as the spell completed. Flames burst from the elemental but stopped just short of me. The elemental began drawing another rune but this one was taking a long time.

"He's casting fireball Tide, you have to cast camo right before he completes the spell! It has tracking!" I yelled as I rushed back in to get in a couple more attacks. The cast time for fireball was 10 seconds. This gave me enough time to hit him 8 times dealing 4200 damage. (22700/30000hp)

As the fireball completed Tide cast active camouflage on me and the fireball fired at my last location as I flickered out of view. The fireball was far larger than a firebolt but still easy enough to dodge with my dexterity and reflexes. It flew past me harmlessly and I quickly approached the boss and let off another volley of attacks, dealing 4500 damage. (18200/30000hp)

"I have an idea for next time! " Tide yelled out.

The elemental began to cast flame burst and I was forced to retreat back at least ten feet. The spell completed and the flames burst out from the boss and stopped harmlessly in front of me.

"Why do that now?" I thought to myself but quickly realized his intention. Tide has sent out his new golem and the boss had targeted it with his ten-second fireball.

Ha! I didn't think about the golem tanking!

Target lock spells were a pain because they wouldn't change targets and would auto adjust aim to make conventional dodging very difficult. The golem just stood and waited for his fate while I hammered attack after attack into the boss. I was able to deal with another 4000 damage before fireball went off. (14200/30000hp)

The fireball smashed into the golem but did no damage.

I slashed at the boss, using all of my abilities every chance I had until the lord used his next spell, dealing 3200 damage. (11000/30000hp)

The boss began to cast flame burst and I ran away from his range. The flames burst forth and stopped harmlessly. Once again, Tide cast active camouflage on me and the boss targeted the golem with his fireball.

I used this opportunity to lay down some more damage.

I continued attacking while my skills were on cooldown, dealing 1500 more damage (4510/30000) before he finished casting fireball at the golem. The fireball smashed into the golem and I frantically used my weapons. I knew he still had around ten seconds before he would use flame burst and wanted to kill him before then.

The Flame Lord dissolved into a pile of ashes and Tide yelled out, " You da fucking man Thorn! Holy shit! How did that just happen! Whoo! "

He was running around like a fool and punching the air.

"Hey, you helped!", I laughed and smiled. His energy and happiness matched my own, I just chose not to express it in the same way.

" Dang right I did!", Tide said as he looked at his golem, "You did great too! What should I call you?"

While he coddled his golem I looted the boss.
