After activating rapid strikes, time seemed to momentarily slow giving me a second to focus on exactly where I wanted my attacks to land. The cleric had slow reflexes and was unable to stop my furious onslaught.

Ding! You have slain player HolyOne12!
Ding! You have killed another player, your name will be marked red for the next 24 hours. Warning! If you die with a red name all of your equipped armor and weapons will drop.
The cleric began to dematerialize until he was gone leaving behind his steel mace on the floor.
As soon as I killed the cleric, I ducked back behind the tree, deciding to pick up the mace later.
The cooldown for power strike is 5 seconds. The cooldown for rank 2 rapid strikes is now down to 5 seconds as well.
The entire exchange between the cleric and I had taken around 2 seconds. The mage had recovered and fired an ice bolt but I had already moved back behind cover. I heard the bolt zing and hit the tree behind me. I listened to the heavy steps of the warrior as he rushed at the tree. I waited for him to choose a direction and as soon as he began to come around the tree I bolted around the opposite side and sprinted towards the mage. I flung a rock at the mage as I moved, once again interrupting his spellcasting.
Thunk! "Oww!"
You have dealt 1 damage! (94/96)
As I ran I mentally counted down the five seconds for my sub-skills to be ready to use.
I flung a rock every second which really started to annoy the mage. My aim was on point too, I kept hitting his face.

After the fourth time of getting hit in the face with a rock he gave up on spell casting and tried to run, but it was too late.
The warrior had chased me around the tree but was distracted by the steel mace, which he decided to stop and pick up. " Axel! You bastard!", the mage screamed out as I closed in on him. "Help me!".
By the time I reached the mage my cooldowns had reset and I activated power attack. My sword glimmered as the blade pierced his chest with ease.
Critical Hit!
You have dealt 99 damage!
You have slain player Frost12!
The mage was instantly killed. I turned to face the warrior who was rushing at me. He was confused and angry, a bad combination in the heat of battle where every move mattered. He yelled out as he stabbed his magic sword at me, but his thrust was very obvious. I was able to move at least 2 feet away from the blade. His lack of skill made me laugh out loud. I smiled wickedly as I activated rapid strikes. My weapon glimmered and time slowed, allowing me to focus upon the target before me. I had timed the activation of my ability to begin as the warrior finished his clumsy attack. I love counter attacking someone at the point in which they are most open, and least able to defend. I struck his sword hand three times in succession.

He managed to hold on to his sword but the pain of the blade slicing into his barely armored arm made him scream out some incoherent curse.

This made me wonder what he had set his pain tolerance to. I didn't want pain to be a distraction so I had set my pain tolerance to zero, but the recommended setting was at 10% pain tolerance. It would seem, Mr. Axel here had not changed his basic setting.
" You are very unlucky , Axel", I said as I stepped back. I pulled up my inventory screen and un-equipped my short sword and equipped my wooden sword. "It's a shame your not a better warrior."

I wrote this to be the kind of story you can really get into, where the world and characters are fleshed out and when the action happens it makes sense and hits hard. Thank you for reading.
