Edith was left alone. He walked toward the riverside. Will the fishes try to bite my hand? Edith has his hands pushes into the river.

The fishes swam towards him, and one of them tried to bite his left hand. Edith moved his hands away from the river and backed away a few metres from them.

That was closed! He gasped for air.

Edith turned to his left. A rock sat in a fixed position; it was the size of his hand. He picked it up and turned to the water. The fishes swam calmly neared the riverbanks.

He walked toward the riverbanks and put his right hand into the water, infested with killer fish. One of the fishes swam towards his hand, and as the fish got closer to him. Edith used the rock and tried to bash the fish on its body, but the fish swam away at the last second.

Another fish jumped at him. The fish opened its jaw. The fish had pointy teeth around the mouth, and it bit his right arm. Edith groaned in pain as he tried to shake off the fish from his arm. The fish fell from his arms and dropped to the ground.

It tried to move its body towards the river. Edith blocked the fish attempted with his left foot and bashed it with the rock. The fish bled out and died on the ground. The fish got engulfed with lights, and as the light disappeared, a cooked fish was hovering.

His stat window rang, “Status.”

The stat window appeared before him. Under the shapeshifting skill was the option to shapeshift into a fish. It also showed him a list of skills. Those skills were fast swimming, glutton, and echolocation.

Edith swiped his stat window down and collected the loot drop. Then he walked toward the riverside. Here goes nothing.

“Change: Fish!” He jumped into the river and closed his eyes.

His body glowed as he plummeted to the depth of the river. His body began shrinking; his whole body became hotter, his skin turned scales, gills formed on his neck, and his arms and legs became fins. As the lights dissipate, Edith had turned himself into a fish.

Wow! This ability is fantastic. The fishes swam, and Edith could sense their movement. Then, The stream became faster, and the colour of the river became murky.

Edith sensed something dangerous was going to happen. He swam up and jumped to the riverside. Change! His body glowed, and he became himself again.

His eyes turned to look upstream. A big wave of mud mix with fallen trees, water and houses rushed towards him. Edith moved his feet and dashes to the woods.

He stopped near a tree. Edith stretched his arm to the body of the tree. His shoulder was up and down as he gasped for air. The earth was rumbling. The trees began shaking. He turned around, and another big wave was rushing towards him, and it swept the riverbank away. Not only that, it carried a huge boulder along with it.

Shit! this is bad. Edith ran to the jungle. A wall of rock stood in his way. If I go back, I'll be dead.

He began climbing the wall of rock. Once he reached midway through his climb. Edith turned his head in the direction of the wave. The area where he once stood was no longer there. The big wave had swept the ground apart and carried it downstream.

Edith gulped and resumed his climb. He reached the top of the hill and heaved. What the f-. A loud explosion from the forest interrupted him. P-people? He gulped in fear.

Edith hesitated for a moment and hid near a bush. Then, three figures rushed out from the forest with their weapons readied. The first figure was a male with short red hair. The second figure was a woman with short blue hair, and the third was a male with long brown hair. They took a few metres away before rushing towards each other.

The first figure conjured a lightning rod and aimed it at the second figure. He released the lightning rod at her. The second figure clapped her hands and placed them on the ground. Ten walls of rock appeared in a straight line. The lightning rod went through six of them before stopping.

Unknown to them, the third figure released red-web like silk towards them. The web tied their necks, hands and body. The third figure moved his fingers and made a fist.

The web-like string began strangling them. They tried to resist, but the more they resist, the tighter it became. The two began choking as the red thread tightened itself on their neck, hands and body. The red thread cut them, and blood split everywhere.

The third figure retracted his thread from their lifeless body as the light began engulfing them. He walked towards them when the lights disappeared. As he got closer, a woman with short red hair appeared and cut his head off. His head fell to the ground, and blood split everywhere.

I-It's her. The person that cut the third figure's head was Claire. Fuck, I better get out of here. Edith tried to back away, but his left foot stepped on a twig. It snapped and made a sound. His eyes rolled to look at the twig.

Fuck! He gulped. He turned around, and Claire had gotten closer to him. She swung her sword at him, and he ducked with his hands covered his head.

The sword grazed above his head. Claire continued and struck down her sword. Edith rolled to his left and avoided her attack.

Fuck! Edith turned around and began running away with four legs. He stood up while running, and Claire chased behind him. He turned his face away and increased his pace.

They ventured deep into the forest. A light beamed between two trees. Edith ran towards the light and emerged from the forest. In front of him was a valley. He hit his brake and stopped at the edge.

He looked down. It was a steep drop, river flow beneath the valley. The bushed behind him rattled, and Claire emerged from it.

“Don't move!” She shouted.

Edith tried to back away, but he stopped as he looked behind him. He had two choices. Killed by her or jump. Edith closed his eyes.

Jump! He opened them and jumped off the cliff.

“Change: Fish!” Edith shouted. His body glowed, and he became a fish. Then, he plummeted down to the river.

He swam up and looked above him. On the edge of the cliff, Claire had her eyebrows grew closer. After that, she walked away from the edge. Edith let out a sigh of relief and swam downstream.
