“John ….John …….wake up” John’s eyes twitched and he opened his eyes slowly . He saw an old man with white beard, long nose ,sharp eyes . He wore luxurious cloths . John unconsciously muttered “Master”

“John wake up .I am not your master .You are my benefactor , remember, I called you and created a meeting 2 days ego.”

John felt like lightning had struck his head and got up in a hurry .He looked around and found that he was in a hospital . It was already mid day .He saw I.V bottles were hanging around his bed .Suddenly all the memories came rushing back like a wave.

“Mom….Mom …where is my Mom?” John screamed like a mad man and was about take out his needles poked to his hand fortunately ,Old man stopped him and said calmly,

“Calm down benefactor .Your mother is fine. She is recuperating in another warden .luckily ,I made it in time .Doctor said , she needs complete rest for 6 months to recover. I have already handled all the paperwork ,so, you can just relax.”

John felt like a heavy burden has lifted from his shoulder. He sighed in relief. He was about to thank the old man.

“No need to thank me . It seems like fate has brought us together. Your small act of saving a life saved you and your Mom in return. Karma is a strange thing.” Old man stroked his bear and said calmly.

“Yes ,nevertheless I want to thank you. Please accept my sincere thanks. I am eternally grateful for your kindness. I won’t forget this till my last death.” John said what he thought in his heart without any reservations.

Old man smiled and said “Good , I like your honesty young man. Its rare nowadays. You need to thank that old lady too. She kept your Mom alive till I came with help.”

John nodded resolutely “I will”

Old man couldn’t help but admire more and more of the young man’s qualities. He silently thought ‘He will be a perfect match for my granddaughter.’

John didn’t know that Old man in front of him was already match making without his consent. He was still in a shock and suddenly remembered ,

“Old man ….sorry sir ,what day it is?” John felt his face red when he accidentally called his life savior old man.

“AHAHA , you can call me old man no problem.” Old man secretly thought ‘anyway you have to call me grandpa soon.’

“Today is 12th June. Yes ,your observation is correct. You have slept almost 2 days . What happened to you? You need to keep your head cool during critical time. Fortunately you called me. Since ,I have a phone that can locate caller’s location, everything is well now .But what if someone else? You would have lost your Mom otherwise.” Old man reprimanded John in a gentle tone. He knew it was tough for a young man to handle such pressure but he thought it was his duty to tell some good reminder.

John was shocked ‘2 days? It must have been due to exhaustion’. He regained his composure slowly “Nothing much old man. I hadn’t eaten anything that day due to some problems. On top of it that emergency ….”

Old man nodded with understanding. He didn’t say much as he was aware of John’s economic situation.

John asked curiously “Old man how is your granddaughter? Is she alright now?”

Old man’s mood suddenly improved when he heard of his granddaughter “Thanks to you she is all right now. She is also in this hospital .I will take you to see her in a while.” Old man had a crafty smile on his face.

John felt like something was wrong but couldn’t point his finger on it. He thought ,it was just his imagination and let it go. Few hours later drips were removed from my body. Doctor asked him to not to skip food and handle stress calmly.

John immediately rushed towards his Mom’s warden and found that she was sleeping. He didn’t disturb her .He thanked God for not taking away his only family. He stood there observed his Mom. He could see his Mom slowly regaining her facial color. He was truly happy for her.

Suddenly Old man came next to him and said “She must be lucky to have a son like you ,young man.”

John didn’t turn around “No, I am lucky to have a Mom like her. She had done so much for me .What I have done in return? Blacking out when she truly needed me.”

Old man replied by patting on John’s shoulder “Don’t blame yourself John. I was in your position when my granddaughter got into accident. I blamed myself for not being there for her when she truly needed me. But fate is magical. We would not have crossed path with each other otherwise. All we can do is our best .We need to live the rest to God.” John slowly nodded .

Suddenly Old man dragged him out suddenly and said with full of smile “Lets go see my granddaughter. She must be feeling lonely.”

John didn’t have choice .He was taken into other warden where 2 bodyguards were standing outside like statues. As he entered the room he saw a beautiful girl sleeping on a bed .

There was no sound except the dripping sound of Glucose. He was taken back by her beauty and stood mesmerized. When he last her ,her face was on the steering wheel covered with her hair. So technically it was his first time seeing her in person.

Old man was secretly satisfied by John’s response .He was super confident when it came to her granddaughter’s beauty .He nodded to himself repeatedly ,stroking his white bear as if he already predicted two of them getting together.

John didn’t know that so many calculations regarding him were already being made by the Old man standing beside him. He couldn’t take his eyes from her face no matter what. He observed every detail of her face including her angelic eyes ,elegant nose, rosy lips. He unconsciously gulped mouthful of saliva .

He suddenly realized what he has done and turned stiffly towards Old man . Old man pretended as if he had not heard anything. John cursed him in his head ‘If you are pretending at least do a good job on it .Its obvious that you heard.’ John prayed a crack to on up on the ground that could swallow him whole. His entire face was red.

“Hm..old man ,tell me about your granddaughter .What does she do?” John stammered and come up with a question to fill the awkwardness.

Old man smiled and said “She is currently studying architecture .Isn’t it great that she has same age as you ?Oh ,I forgot to tell you ,she is currently single .”

John was slow when it came to understanding hidden meanings .He simply nodded .He already labeled her as out of his league the moment he saw her. It didn’t matter to him whether she was single or married .He thought both of them had a gulf that can’t be filled by his lifetime.

Suddenly he heard

Old man already made a thorough research about John and found him promising. He knew all about John’s past except the system .Although John did some mistakes ,old man considered it as learning curve .According to him without experience it was difficult to learn one’s mistake . John had learned it at such a young age and even acknowledged by his friend who was John’s Principal. He himself saw John’s concern for his mother and was very impressed by his conduct so far.

So he created an opportunity for John and hinted that he won’t oppose their union if John was willing .He was not in a hurry to move this forward since both of them were still young. He would sit back and let take nature take its course.

It can’t be helped that Old man was thinking that way .He was unable to understand someone’s inferiority complex. Old man thought something and said “Oh, young man I forgot to introduce myself . My name is Carl Martin .Her name is Erika Martin. All of a sudden John felt sorry for Erika .He couldn’t imagine how much she had gone through when she was child . At least he had a mother but she had none.

John suddenly felt he was missing something .”Did you say you are Carl Martin ? One of the rich tycoon in the world !”

Old man expected his reaction. He simply smiled while stroking his beard. He didn’t care about money or fame ,all he cared about was his granddaughter .Suddenly he saw a twitch in Erika’s eyes .He became ecstatic . “Come ,let me introduce her .”
