Chapter 20 Unexpected Feelings
Main Character’s POV (Point Of View):
“Fu-hu-hu! You’re such fun to tease, Deleon.”
“Anna you shouldn’t play a joke like that on a guy. You were lucky that I could restrain myself.”
“Alright, alright. I won’t play lewd jokes like that on you again.”
This man was such a nice gentleman. He thought I was joking when I lifted my skirt earlier and told him that I wasn’t wearing any panties. If he wasn’t such a chivalrous junky, he would have discovered that I was indeed naked down there. I was willing to let him fondle my juice for just a brief moment but he already trashed his chance. ‘No nooky for this unlucky boy tonight.’
“Anna it’s getting late. Should we head back now?”
“My place or yours?” I couldn’t help but tease him some more. When he heard my question he didn’t answer right away, I could imagine what was going on his cute head.
“Anna I…” [Beep! Beep! Beep!] Before I could get his reply, he received an urgent phone call.
“I’m sorry, Anna. Something just came up at the lab. I’ll have to head over immediately. Get in the car I’ll drop you off at your home.”
“Okay.” By how stiff his face had become, moreover, how swiftly he hopped into the vehicle without packing up the stuff which he had laid out on the grass, it was evident that there was an emergency back at his workplace. We didn’t speak many words to each other after that. He dropped me off in front of my shop then drove away.
“Goodnight, Anna. I’ll talk to you later some more when I get the chance.” [Vrm! Vrm!]
“And there he goes. I had fun.” I wasn’t disappointed that I went on a date with that weak man. I got to know his secret, moreover, discovered something about my past.
“If I’m not mistaken. That little girl he mentioned in his story might have been me.” To confirm my suspicions, I hurried to my abode upstairs. I ran by Ember who at that time was closing up the shop.
“Hey, boss! How did the date go? Why are you rushing like that?”
“Not right now, Ember.”
“That bad, huh?”
[Thud! Thud!] I went into the secret space in my bedroom, picked up my encrypted device and contacted my master. [Beep! Beep! Bup!]

“Tainted Scorpion? What coerced you to contact me at this hour?”
“Sensei it’s about my past.”
“Your past?”
“Yes. I want to know something. When we first met you told me that I was an abandoned bug left for dead. Where exactly did you find me and in what condition?”
“Hm? This is unlike you to be concerned about your past, Tainted Scorpion. What brought this on?”
“I met someone who might have known me back then. Could you answer my question?”
“I see no harm in telling you. Sooner or later I expected you to regain your memories. Listen well, Tainted Scorpion. What I’m about to tell you might give you the urge to seek more of your past but I advise you not to.”
“I understand, Sensei.”
“What led me to discover you back then was a disturbance I felt in Mt Venom’s pit when I was out on a stroll. Some kid and his father had broken through one of my faulty barriers while hiking. When I got to the source of the disturbance, I came across your corpse entangled in my Dark Bloom Orchids. There was a boy there trying to pull you to safety but he eventually got scared off when a Psionic Scorpion crawled out of your mouth. Later that morning you died.”
“What, I died?”
“Correct. I revived you much later on after mending the tear in my barrier. The rest you know from there. Are you satisfied now?”
“Not quite. How did I end up in that situation in the first place? A little girl left for dead in such a dangerous place. Something bad must have happened to me right?”
“I did some digging into your past and discovered that you were abandoned by your parents. They passed away long ago. Your only family now is the Assassin League of Black Scorpions. Get well soon. Remember I have a job pending for you.” [Beep!]
“Wait! Dang it, he hung up. I wanted to ask him something else.” After hearing Master Odok story of how he discovered me, it appears what Deleon experienced that day was no illusion. I was that little girl he failed to rescue. He was poisoned because of me. I found it strange that we met each other again after so many years. The universe had a peculiar way of operating.
[Knock! Knock!] “Hey, boss! Let me in! I want to know more about what happened on your date!”

Ember, this minion was such a nuisance. Banging on my door just to entertain her curiosity. She was making so much noise, I eventually let her inside my abode. “Stop smashing down my door, Ember, if you break it you’ll pay for the repairs.”
[Open!] “Took you long enough to let me in.” This girl trespassed into my dwelling space with utter braggadocio and grabbed up my arm like an excited teenager. “So, Boss. Tell me everything. Did you guys do it before coming back? How big was his thing? Did you guys at least kiss? Come on tell me something!”
“Gosh, you’re spitting in my face, Ember. Back the hell up.” Because of Ember’s excited spittle which nasty my stunning countenance, I had to push her lips away while searching for a rag I had in my drawer. Even after wiping my face, I still felt uncomfortable, so I decided to wash it with clean water.
As I stepped to the path which led to my bathroom, a sudden vibration shook the entirety of my apartment, also, I heard a huge boom rang out. “What was that?”
“Boss! Come take a look at this! There has been an explosion!”
My minion’s shout prompted my legs to hustle to the window where there was a clear view of the city. “An explosion? Where?”
“Over there, boss!”
“Hm?” I directed my gaze afield to where my minion pointed to. A blazing fire producing toxic amount of smoke lit up the dark sky. It was after I registered the origin of the explosion that it donned on me.
“No way! Isn’t Bio-Ace Pharmaceuticals somewhere over there, boss?”
“It is. I remember because I went there not too long ago with Deleon.”
“Oh my gosh! It’s a good thing that your boyfriend wasn’t nowhere near there tonight, right boss?”
“No, he went back early to check on something that happened in the lab.”
“What do you mean, boss? Did he abandon you on your date? Was he caught in that explosion? Serves him right for tossing you away like rubbish.”
“That’s not what happened. I’m going over there to find out more.” I stopped staring through the window then rushed towards my private room to equip my spare armour. It was a dark armour from my earlier days as a Black Scorpion. My golden armour was ruined back at that warehouse.
While donning my lower-tier armour along with my versatile combat gears, Ember dashed into the room with her lips moving frantically. “Boss! What are you doing…? Are you seriously going to go over there? This is not like you to behave so impulsively over some guy. Do you want me to come with you?”
“Fell free but I’m not waiting around for you to get changed.”
“Ahh, damn. I left my armour at home. It will take me forever to catch up if I go back to retrieve it.”
I ignored the moving lips of my minion and dashed out of the room. I quickly made my way to the rooftop. From there I commenced slinging the chained-blade from my vambrace, travelling from building to building.
A couple of minutes later, I made it to an adjacent building top which overlooked the front entrance of Bio-Ace Pharmaceuticals. The lotus-shaped architecture was on fire. Parts of its support had already collapsed on the road. Myriads of emergency vehicles were down below evacuating workers from inside.
For the first time in my life, I felt anxious, moreover, afraid of losing someone that I cared about. Yes, I admit that I had a tiny bit of affection for that weak man with the girly name. I didn’t know what came over me, maybe I caught some of his potent disease of care.
[Ba-dump! Ba-dump! Ba-dump!] My heart was beating erotically. Cold sweats trickled down my spine. I was going crazy thinking about Deleon’s safety. After minutes of watching the disarray of distraught workers below, I identified some firemen caring out the object of my terrible affection from the crumbling blaze.
“Yes! He’s alive.” A cumbersome burden of stress lifted off my heart as I observed the medics putting Deleon on a stretcher, taking him to safety. “He doesn’t look all that hurt. With good medical care, he will surely live.”
[Huff! Huff!] “I gasp for fresh air, quickly alleviated the agonising strain beating down my chest.” Deleon was carried off to the emergency centre, I was relieved. As for the other injured workers who were still being carried out of the blaze, I had no feelings for them. They could all die for all I care. The only person I was concerned about was Deleon who was now safe.

Limits
Have you ever considered, what is a Limit? Well, I have. I’ve seen people who were as strong, as wild animals. Those that were faster than the wind. Some that shined with intellect. Yet, what are the Limits of mankind’s strength, or intelligence? No one seems to know. We develop more and more, seemingly without an end. What if, someone was the smartest in the world? Would that suggest the Limit? What if, someone was the strongest in the world? Would that be the Limit? Would that make that someone, more than a Human? These are just questions, but what if I saw people reach their Limits? What if I know what happens, when you break the Limits? What if I were to tell you about it, would you believe me? THE WHISPERS IN THIS DARK, CRUEL, AND GHOSTLY WORLD
(Vampires & Humans Vs. Werewolves & Ghosts???)It is the year 2201, and the human race is at war with not only the next evolution of the human race, werewolves, but also against Nature itself. An Ancient race of underground dwellers called vampires live and tries to protect humanity by bringing the human population underground in their habitat. The humans and Vampires live in fear of the werewolves, but that is not all, If this was the worst of it all, then it would have been a rather nice end for a good bedtime story about humans and vampires leaving in harmony underground, but this was not the end and neither is this a bedtime story. Nature (planet) still had big plans for the world, even with the creation of its henchmen, the werewolves (who have no control over themselves at all, merely acting based solely on their biological instincts), that was still not enough for nature. Nature still needed one last thing, something that could give those werewolves orders, tell them what to do, guide them, something that would be a personification of nature itself, something that would be nature's full power, with its wisdom and knowledge, something that would be its symbol. Ghosts.
