Magus Gravity - Chapter 6

The person sleeping in the bed next to mine groggily wakes and starts wandering around the room, searching through drawers and taking stuff out. A yawn escapes his mouth and I feel something light plop on top of my bed sheets, making the particular area colder than the rest. It felt like getting a breath of fresh air for my body, after being exposed to extreme temperatures in a hot bath.

“Get up Yaeger, it’s time to show me the worth or uselessness that you have” He said with a voice that contrasted the voice that released yawns.

I open my eyes and sit up with difficulty, the ribs creaked harder than ever before, even when I ate yesterday they weren’t in this critical condition. At the foot of my bed I saw a simple shirt that was made with the purpose of not hindering the wearer’s movement and the same applied to the shorts that were underneath, a set of clothes perfect for extracurricular classes in school. The clothes were something to worship with the tattered robes I had right now.

I left the bed and quickly undressed and-

“You seem to have zero requirements for privacy. Good. At least I won’t need to drill that into you when we are in a dungeon.” Tyrena commented, making me stop and listen in my birthday suit.

I gave a shrug to his unneeded praise and continued to dress. I have never had problems with seperate or the same gender seeing my sexuality, it didn’t make me embarrassed or insecure since the thought of people speaking badly about anything wrong with me did not worry me at all, they have their own opinions and thoughts. I had no way of changing them without creating a hassle for myself. Not that it even mattered in the first place.

“Put these on and wait for me at the front of the house, near the large tree stump with an axe through it” Tyrena’s commanding voice penetrated my ears and my chest started warming up, the tattoo light up slightly and I followed his instructions perfectly.

The thing he wanted me to put on were shoes created in the same purpose as the other pieces of clothing, to help the wearer in physical exertion and not hinder them in the process. I left the instant the second shoe was on my foot, only looking back at Tyrena who was rummaging through a worn out backpack. I flowed through the house and out to the tree stump in an efficiency close to as if I had already taken the same path for ages.

I took a seat on the stump and waited.

He came out with two wooden swords, a waterskin and a lump of a green moss. He had an exhausted look on his face, clearly whatever he had done must have taken the stamina out of hi-

“Sorry to have kept you waiting, I took a bit longer to find the andora moss.” He says as he goes to stand in front of me, holding out that green moss towards me with his hand.

I direct a puzzled look in his direction but he just starts smiling at me, what does he want me to do with it? I reach out and grab the moss that almost slipped out of my hand as it was like wet ice with almost nonexistent friction. Firmly grasping the moss, not letting it fly out of my hands, I look at it in hopes of finding out the purpose of this thing.

I give up.

“What do I do with this?”

“You don’t know?” He flashed a prideful grin at me.

“No” I answered.

He took a step forward and took the moss out of my hands without any difficulty, and pushed it into my mouth. “You eat it” He exclaimed creepily as he forcibly made me munch on that tasteless green-shit.

As parts of the moss made its way down my throat I started feeling a pounding pressure around my chest and arm in irregular intervals, but it didn’t hurt at all and instead felt more like a painkiller to the pain that I already was feeling constantly. Surely, I felt the pressure raise to the point that when I pressed my hand to my chest it felt like something was trying to pierce it from the other side, it made me curious as to what is going on but Tyrena spoiled all of that.

“That is part of the ‘Andorian Flower Blossom’ found in Andorian’s dungeon fifteenth, thirtieth and sixtieth stages. There is three parts of the flower and the moss is the easiest to obtain out of the three, since you can find it at a lowest level. It’s a rare tier flower that quickly restores injuries if consumed, but it disintegrates after two months if not used or placed back in the dungeon” He told me with a tone of a teacher.

My arm clicked into place by itself and I instantly knew that this is the effect of that moss he was speaking about, it’s something that could definitely save massive amounts of money that would be used for surgery and medical treatment back on my world. My ribs also creaked a little and then a sharp crunching noise exploded, which surprised Tyrena greatly as he instinctively backed up a little, but then there was no pain at all.

“Wow! Usually it would take around an hour to take effect but this...it’s extraordinary!” Tyrena exclaimed when I stood up from the tree stump.

He then handed me a wooden sword and walked away from me, stopped and took a weird stance with his own sword. I grabbed the wooden sword by the hilt, it was heavy so I needed to tense my whole arm to swing it around properly.

I am guessing that this is what he meant when he woke me up - to see if I am useless or useful with a sword. I was about to imitate the stance that Tyrena was making but decided against it as I had zero experience whatsoever, and I had no clue if that stance meant defence or offense.

“Do your best lil’ Yagi” He said to me using a nickname, to try and get an expression from me.

He can call me whatever he wants, it won’t change the fact that I will probably get my ass whooped. Since in all honesty, I will definitely lose, although right now I am feeling very good with strength I didn’t know I had coursed throughout my whole body. The tattoos under my shirt and on my arm became visible and shined a faint red.

I stood straight as a rod, my wooden sword pointing towards the ground as I held it with one hand. Tyrena raises an eyebrow, then disappears from my vision. Impossible.

My feet couldn’t find the floor anymore and I fall on my back with a wooden sword stroking my neck gently. Tyrena’s shadow loomed over me, blocking the warm rays from the rising sun. I didn’t even know what happened, one second he was there and the next...he was looking down at me.

“This is pretty disappointing, and I didn’t even give a command to not let you use magic. But you still lost in one strike.” He looked down at me with a warm smile contrasting his words.

“For disappointing me, give me fifty slashes and lounges. It’s a command.”

I got up, the tattoos still shining faintly and I stood on the spot without doing anything. Tyrena makes a puzzled face because of this, his “command” didn’t work on me. It seems I am gaining power like tho-

“A slash is this” He demonstrates by swinging his sword down, his legs were apart from each other giving balance to her swings. “A lounge is this” He then demonstrates a lounge by going into a fencing stance - bouncing forward with his legs and stretching out his sword arm away from his chest.

My body immediately replicates what he had done for the slashes, placing my feet apart and swinging my sword down.

On the 10th swing my arms starting shaking slightly

On the 20th swing my arms started to burn

On the 30th swing my arms felt dead

On the 40th swing I couldn’t feel anything from my arms

On the 50th swing I felt it was natural to swing this sword downwards

Without even a second of rest, my body switches to a perfect replication of the “lounge” stance Tyrena had made, and started bouncing forwards and stabbing my sword outwards. In order to perfectly comply with his request of 50 lounges.

The sword fell out my hand and my arms dangled at my side after finishing the assignment. I looked into his eyes and found excitement and joy, I could only cringe my face at knowing that I have a sadistic master. He naturally saw all that since he hasn’t taken my eyes of my for a moment when I was following his orders.

“Owning a slave really does shine a light into a boring life” He said straight to my face with a grin.

He bent over to the floor and picked up the sword, and threw it towards me with malice. “A sword is your life, so cherish it” He didn’t command it but I caught it with the final strength in my arm. I clenched it hard in my grasp not letting it fall to the floor.

The only thing I cherish is my life, so this sword will let me do that will it? I might as well place m-

“Follow me for a run around the forest. No magic allowed.” He said sternly as he dashed off really fast into the waking woods.

The tattoos flashed brighter than ever and I instantly started to follow, the sword stayed in my hand.

The way he traversed the woods was exceptional when compared to my lousy steps, I crunched the sticks and made a lot of noise but he didn’t make a peep. Tyrena has probably taken this route every day so a path was naturally made, but I still somehow made noise even when I tried not to.

He is better than me in almost everything I had seen him do, it’s obviously a trait for being born in this world. However, give me a speed test of knowledge and a library to find my answers in, then I could show him what I could do but that is definitely unlikely to happen. There wouldn’t really be a point in doing so either.

Suddenly, a blur flew out from a bush that we just passed, and I didn’t even have time to react to it as it clobbered the side of my body. Luckily Tyrena seemed to have reacted and caught me in time, otherwise I would have been impaled by a random tree branch that didn’t seem healthy.

The reason for that was revealed when Tyrena slashed at it and green blood spewed out from the slash, his sword glowed brightly and started to extend by a couple of meters and turned into a longsword. Even the wood seemed thicker and stronger.

“Time for our first opponent!” He exclaimed in an excited growl as he pushed me to the side and took a wide stance against the massive blob that stood in our path.

It’s a big green blob that must have smacked against my body just then.

“It’s a forest roping. I’ll distract it and you aim for the small black lump on its back.” He stated and fended off the first attack by the roping, it extended an arm like tentacle and tried to grab Tyrena but he slashed it apart and liquid fell onto the floor.

Meanwhile I maneuvered around the side, making it lose sight of me and in-turn focus more on Tyrena.

I silenced my movement and crouched down at the side of the tree, just a little bit away from the roping’s side waiting for the right moment.

From the four times that the roping had attacked Tyrena I could tell that the thing had a slight cooldown before launching its next attack. Whenever it attacked, the thing had to wait for its tentacle to come back before launching it back again - it could also only launch one of those at a time which makes it even easier.

Tyrena just fended off a side swipe that was aimed for his legs extremely easy, he jumped up and then stabbed his sword down. Impaling the things tentacle into the gro- This is my chance!

The roping needs to retrieve that tentacle but it is stuck in order to attack again so the thing is completely defenseless currently. Easy pickings.

I kicked off the floor and reached the thing, swinging the sword towards that black lump on its back - the weakness of the roping I presume. However, I didn’t expect it to morph it’s body and surround me in its blob, trying to swallow me whole.

But then...the thing exploded entirely and I witness my master’s strength in an entire different view. He stood drenched in the center of that green jelly.

A power to protect his slave. Me.
