Magus Gravity - Chapter 1
My eyes opened just when I was going to start collapsing due to the unknown variables that made me feel paralyzed.
Around me people that shared the same age as me, and a few other older people, were all collapsed in the same state as me. Some were wearing nightgowns and pajamas, whilst others were adorning their school uniforms or work clothes. Outside the circle of unconscious bodies, thirteen people in blue robes were in a formation around us all kneeling on their knees, some had red dribbles of blood going down from their mouths.
The floor was cold and hard with no straight gradient anywhere, making me want to stand up and stretch my limbs from going stiff and pained. However, I do not know if this is some sort of mass abduction or just something else altogether and maybe it’s just a big prank, but I still won’t be the first one to get up and be at the center of attention. I won’t be risking myself for the sake of knowing what is going on.
Outwith the robed men, I wasn’t able to see anything else apart from a hazy brown wall that seemed fake, almost like a hologram that could be passed through, maybe it’s just an illusion.
“ugh...” The slightly pained voice of a male teenager startled me, as his grunt was basically straight into my ear.
Almost instantly, a robed man looked into my direction and our eyes met, but only for a slight moment. The man was old, evident from the wrinkles around his brown eyes with slight scars surrounding his forehead, he seemed bald from his shiny forehead but I couldn’t actually tell because of the hood. Thankfully, I was squinting really hard so basically no one could see my eyes that were partially opened, I have tested countless times in front of a mirror in order to observe a couple of secretive people, but I didn’t know it would come in handy in this situation.
“I know you are awake young lad, don’t worry we won’t harm you” The old man spoke right in front of me which gave me shivers, did he know I was awake? His wrinkled hand reached out and was going to grab my wrist, but it moved and grabbed the one behind me and pulled it.

The body of the teenager made contact with mine, and I could feel how scared he was by how much shaking he was doing, I’m glad he didn’t decide to latch onto me in order to make this harder for the man to take him.
“Don’t be scared young boy, you are going to be a hero so you shouldn’t be like that” The old man spoke and I coughed, a laugh almost escaped my lips.
He just said to that guy: ‘you are going to be a hero’ is he for real? Maybe everyone here are cosplayers of some sorts, and those robed old men are perverts that have got a fetish for this. Anyway, I guess I will just wait this one out.
30 Minutes Later
Twelve people got taken away, and I presumed I was the only person left from the way the four robed people surrounded me, three elderly woman were amongst the group and one guy. I had initially thought they were all men but I noticed that to my surprise almost 40% of them were female, all of them old. Is this some sort of caretaking home? Or are...nevermind, I will get nowhere with thinking about the strange fetishes of these people.
Every single person was taken away from the circle and straight through the hazy brown wall, making me slightly happy knowing that one of my guesses were correct, it’s a holographic wall. So these guys must be rich or something to be able to afford something of that technology.
“Young man, are you awake?” A woman with long red hair asked, and strangely her face was not covered in wrinkles so maybe she is up-to-date with the newest face masks that allows you to preserve your skin for longer. As a joke, I should remember to ask her which product she uses so that that I could tell The Guardian(Mother) how to keep her skin smooth.
“Yes I am” I told her as I stood up, I got bored of resting on that hard cobblestone, so I started walking to the brown holographic haze on my own. I looked behind me and the robed people kept standing there, are they stupid? Aren’t I their hostage?
I walked straight through the holographic wall and got blinded by a golden light, I must be waking up from my dream now.

“He looks dumb, I hope I didn’t do that as I got out too” I heard a snicker being aimed at me over a lot of background noise, so I am assuming that this is definitely not a dream and nor am I going back to normal.
Reasons for not waking back to my worthless classroom, and why this isn’t a dream.
I was able to make conclusive thoughts and remember people, you wouldn’t be able to do that in a dream.
I felt pain from the cold hard floor, and clamping my teeth on my lip is not waking me up.
I have been abducted by some strange people after my classroom was gassed by some sort of invisible smoke that makes you feel nothing at all.
I opened my eyes and lowered my arms from the “accepting the golden light” position. I took a look at the person who made a “clever accusation” about me; it was the guy who cowered behind my back like a drenched cat. His looks were average and his eyes were filled with sharpness and intelligence, but under that mask were a child’s full-blown naivety. He must have been born just yesterday, or he had a life made from his parent’s wealth.
In the large hall where cosplayers were abundant, enough to make me question my preconceived opinion of them all. Were these even cosplayers at all?
I felt four people creep up behind me and it was the old folk passing through the hologram, and then there it was as I turned to look at them taking a glimpse out of the large hole in the wall which was a window: a moon with a golden ring around it.
“A different world”
I must have stood there for quite a while as I didn’t even notice a crowd forming directly behind me, until I felt a strong hand grasp my shoulder. “The queen is speaking so do not show disrespect, even a hero needs to...” I didn’t need to know anything right now, so I grabbed his hand with my own and twisted it, turning my body to face his I flicked my leg into his head that was covered by a helmet.
I must not have noticed his helmet, but I didn’t feel anything right now.
I stood watching the large man slumping down unconscious, the background volume getting much softer to the point where I could start thinking properly.
“Apprehend that man” Someone shouted, making my mind grate in pain.
People started approaching me with blades but not guns? I looked out the window again to confirm if I really am in a different world…
…Time Passes
I sit unmoving as I focused onto the slab of brick in front of me that was a decoration in my new living quarters right now: three brick walls and a steel bar wall, one small unreachable window with bars acting as the glass, and a luxurious straw bed on the floor to rest my bruised body. I have no neighbours but the maid acts as a nice conversation maker, excluding the spit she shoots at me before leaving, she leaves food for me everyday that I never eat.
I came to this world about a week ago and I am already in prison. From the maid I heard that the “Kingdom Of Humans” summoned thirteen heroes and that every single one did not disappoint the widowed-queen in the appraisal ceremony two days ago. I don’t know why there is even a kingdom called that, but a good guess would be that there were different type of “races” in this world.
I was incorrect when I said that only twelve people were taken by the robed men, so there must have been another person that woke up long before I did.
After committing a crime of attacking a special someone I was sent away to a prison. They must have thought I was an assassin or something along the lines of “from this world”. I wonder how they came to the conclusion that I was not supposed to be a hero like the thirteen others.
I look at the bowl containing brown clumps of food behind the iron bars. Moving my fingers in a circular motion, makes the food start to swirl in a circular motion and when I make a palm and press it downwards, the whole thing becomes a pancake along with the poorly made bowl. This time taking a glance at the bowl of water, I make a palm and push it upwards, whereas little blobs of water start separating and start floating upwards to the ceiling.
“Yaeger, I told you not to play with your food!”
