《The World Of Divinity》The Creek!

One youth danced through the harsh terrain as if it was his home to begin with. Using the shadows to his advantage, Alex appeared and disappeared from tree to tree. Using the branches to thrust himself forward.
Alex wasn't trying to draw attention to himself in the creek as although his combat skills were top notch the danger here currently for his level and current strength was undeniable. Still Alex was without a doubt unafraid.
Why you might ask, well that is simple. In his past life Alex learned multiple different routes to effectively level himself up as in his early years of playing the game he used to boost peoples accounts for money. Although this method was frowned upon and quite frankly Alex too despised it, Alex was forced too make money one way or another.
This route he was currently taking he had taken many times in the past. That was because the end result would allow him too open a chest if done properly. Depending on his luck he could boost himself to a higher level faster if he got something good.
Avoiding the different beasts from wild boar's to Monkeys. Alex continued to make his way deeper into the forest all the way up until he reached the inner region of the creak's hunting ground. You could tell that the danger level increased as the surroundings seemed to be marked with territorial warnings.
Tree's seemed to be marked by bear claws and different other kinds of scratches. Alex picked up on all of this as he focused himself on controlling his breathing and keeping his presence masked. As for his stealth skill it was currently activated and increasing the proficiency rapidly as Alex's usage of the skill were top tier. In fact it was nearing level 2.

ROARRR
In the close distance a brown bear appeared of large stator. Alex expected this of course as he had to overcome this obstacle to get too where the quest object was. Instead of being afraid of the incoming danger he seemly smiled before shouting "Come!"
The bear enraged at the arrogance of the youth charge on all fours before standing on it's hind legs and slashing both claws towards Alex's direction. Alex did not panic in front of the incoming danger and instead stayed deathly still. The claws came thrashing down and just before they made contact with the body of Alex, he vanished.
The bear somewhat confused at how weak the youth was thought he was instantly dead. However, before it realised it hadn't made contact with the youth and what's worse disappeared. Alex reappeared to the left side of the bear. Taking his dagger from his side he used [Chop] on the bears neck before slashing twice more once on the shoulder of the bear and the next of the back as Alex descended from a higher elevation after jumping.

The bear roared out in pain and anger before turning and once more slashing towards Alex. This time at a much faster and vicious speed than prior. Not that that it mattered as Alex waited for the claw to come closer to him before he accelerated his movements suddenly breaking away from the bear then closed in once more.
Using the new found space he once more slashed at the bear twice leaving a huge 'X' mark across the bears front.

Still the bear did not fall as he moved once more to the side of the bear cutting at the bears thigh with killing intent.

Circling towards the bears back once more the cool down for [Chop] finished and Alex thrust out with all his current strength.

[You have killed Great Brown Bear lvl 7. Gained 2000 xp.]
[You have have gained x2 Bear Hide.]
"Not bad, onwards."
Storing away the bear hide, Alex carried on into the depths of the forest. Although there seemed to be an eerie feeling of danger leaking from the surrounding's of the forest. Alex journeyed on stealing his nerves as he focused on blending in with the terrain.
Skills worked differently to what one might think. In The World Of Divinity skills could be raised through continuous usage yes. However, for the experts skills were mainly raised through understanding of principle. This meant that the user had to truly understand how and when to use a certain skill if they wanted to correctly increase their skills level.
A skill had certain brackets as level 1-3 where for novice usage. Level 4-6 where for beginner usage. Level 7-10 where for apprentice level usage. Past that level 11-20 where for Experts.
The different brackets gave the user hidden advantages like higher damage if it was a attack skill for example. Or for stealth it reduced presence as well as cloaked the player in a invisible layer of reflection that allowed players to mask into surroundings easier. At a high level they where basically invisible if you didn't know what you were looking for.
Alex who had the experience of a max out basic stealth skill was utilising this outing to raise the skill fast. Steading his breath with the wind, calming his heart, using the shadow's to his advantage and cloaking his sounds to a minimal. All hidden requirements to raise his skill level fast.
[You have levelled up basic Stealth skill to Lvl 2.]
With a sudden warmth Alex felt his presence decrease as his smell seemed to vanish. Now when moving forward he'd be unnoticed to those beasts that specialised in detection.
Feeling much better about his current situation Alex quickened his pace as he closed in on the area where the hidden quest was located. As he reached an opening in the midst of the forest a parting of trees was cut out. A huge rock laid in wait with a single treasure chest sat atop. Guarding the chest was a sleeping panther.
The size of a adult male with define muscles and teeth made to kill. Alex looked on watching as it yawned and licked its paws in boredom. This beast right here was without a doubt a natural born predator.

Paths of the Chosen (Rewritten, Revised, and Reinvigorated)
Daniel Stewart was chosen to alpha test a brand new Immersive VR game, "The Realms". What he doesn't know is that he has also been Chosen by one of the Powers of a far-off world, and is now a pawn in a game much bigger than any he thought he would ever participate in. Will he survive and thrive in this strange new world, or will he stumble and fall, shattered by the ambitions of another? Does he have what it takes to walk the Paths of the Chosen?---Inspired by the Chaos Seeds novels, TheDespaxas's The Gamer, and a wide variety of games and books, although the world, characters, and systems are my own. Expect high fantasy, magic, combat and intrigue, love and loss, grief and passion. This story is intended for adult audiences and contains explicit sexual content, profanity, and violence (including sexual violence, although not by the protagonist and not as a focus of the story). Chapters with such content will be clearly marked, and all explicit sexual content will be behind spoiler tags. I prefer my stories to have happy endings, and especially in these uncertain times, I feel that it is important to maintain hope. While this tale will reach some dark places, I promise to you that, when all is said and done, the villains will be justly punished and the heroes will prevail and prosper. Remember: it is darkest before dawn, but dawn always comes. Please note also that although this story does not have the [Harem] tag, it does have an extremely slow build into a polyamorous relationship. Additionally, starting with Champion (book two of the series), the [Multiple Lead Characters], [Female Lead], and [Non-Human Lead] tags would also apply to varying degrees. This is a complete, ground-up rewrite of the original Paths of the Chosen, following feedback from here and elsewhere. It is now written in the third-person limited omniscient perspective and in the past tense. In addition, while the major plot beats are unchanged, most of what comes between them has been reconsidered and rewritten, with pacing and characterization as a special focus.---Update schedule: 2 chapters per week (Monday and Thursday), not counting bonus chapters. Chapter length is roughly 2,500 words on average, +/- 1,000 words. Chapters with explicit content tend to be longer so that they are still worth reading for those who would prefer a fade to black. --- Cover art by Agri Karuniawan (@artofagri). NPC MAKER
Jan 1, 2022 Edit: Happy near years! Sorry for the long delays once again, I hope to write more frequently. The NPC-MAKER only has one goal… and that is to rule the world with his NPCs! He has the power to create any NPC he desires as long as he has the resources for it. He was obviously going to create slave NPCs to gather resources so he can focus on making more NPCs. There are way too many enemies in the world trying to kill him so he must create many NPCs stronger than himself to defend him and his empire! Unfortunately, he finds himself stranded in the desert with nothing around. He must survive the harsh conditions and hopefully create NPCs to help him. ~ What to Expect ~ - Lots of NPC interactions. Arc 1 Desert Survival Chapter 1 to... ( work in progress)

In 1991, Montreal, Canada, an end approaches. Old rivalries clash with new necessities as the fabric of reality strains once more. ___________________________________________ This is my first shot at posting something I've written and a story set in a literary universe that I really want to take places, one of several that's been rattling around in my brain for a few years now. Constructive criticism always welcome, unconstructive criticism welcome with the caveat that I very well might ignore it. Written for Nanowrimo, because why not.
