《Empyreal War; MOBA reimagined》Skirmish 7: Invincible

[ INVINCIBLE ]
The panel appeared as I tried to attack the Berserkr. It basically means that my attack could not deal him damage.
The potion he just took nullifies any damage for a short time.
The raging Zerker furiously swung his axe but he was slow. Slower than he was before. The potion prolonged his life but it also made him sluggish.
The Chaplain positioned hisself behind him and then casted ASPERSION but the skill failed to remove the enhancement and only drench him further.
"You know that's not gonna work," I told him.
"Atleast I tried," he said.
"All we could do at the moment is to wait for the effect to wear off."
"Oh, I see. Then I'll go hunt for some monsters while we wait."
"That's not funny," I told him but he ran off towards the woods.
Hostile monsters are spawned in certain areas of the battlefield. Killing these monsters provide points; points, more than a group of pawns can give.
There are also times that they drop basic items. All the more reason to hunt them. But I mean, this is not the right moment to leave the frontline!
I lead our soldiers towards the enemy golem leaving the slow but invincible Korg behind us. The pawns didn't even mind him since he was INVINCIBLE.
By the time the potion's effect was gone, their golem was already crumbling down.
[+450 pts ]
[ REVERI has destroyed a Golem ]
The panel declared. I wanted to rally the pawns further but I knew I had to face the Zerker back. I dodged as he came from behind.
His RAGE was gone but after a closer inspection I noticed his health was slowly going up.

"I lost myself back there miss, care to explain what happened?" He said swinging his axe. His speed returned to normal but I'm not letting him touch me.
"Well, first. We almost killed you." I told him backing away and retaliating with projectiles.
"Sadly, you couldn't!" He said dodging and deflecting an energy ball by chopping it.

The flow of his movements seemed better without his RAGE MODE on. Berserkr might not be his main avatar.
"You lost your chance, miss. That was even two against one." He swiped his axe wounding my shoulder. I was not able to dodge him this time.
"Yes-Yes. That was right." I tried shooting him as I backed away but he was persistent chasing me and grazing my cheek.
I was holding back until now. But this fool is pushing me on the edge.
I waved my hand to call back ARTHAME so I could block his axe. He swung again but I stabbed the knife in his arm and as I looked him in the eye I said, "Because second..."
I channeled RAW MAGIC into my fingertips before finally saying "I'm the one who would bring you down!"
He raised his axe for a chop but he was suddenly thrown away as I released an enormous amount of mana around myself.
I felt the power flickered in my eyes and my skin burning in a weird sensation. My feet slightly floated above the ground and runes started tracing theirselves in the air around me.

It was a skill that can rival the Berserkr's RAGE MODE. Too bad my enemy could not use that skill at the moment.
He's been on attack since the beginning of the match, now I wonder if he's good in defense.
The runes floating around me transformed into six projectiles. Before he could step away, I snapped my finger and they flew one by one towards my weak enemy. He tried to escape but he didn't had chance.
The projectiles obliterated him crushing his flesh and bones and shattered him into tiny little--well, that's a little too violent to say. I'll just settle with the word disintegrated.
[ REVERI has slain KORG ]
Woohoo! A round of applause anyone? This is no other than your friendly local saint, Reveri of Avenguard!
I wished to celebrate but I shouldn't waste the duration of my skill so I continued going to the golem to help the pawns in taking it down.

I was able to wipe out the elites and even left the Gatekeeper with a couple of holes but soon Rotuel appeared in the pool.
"I'm not gonna let you!" He said shooting me down. I shot him back but the effect of ICONOCLAST has already disappeared.
I casted ENSORCELL to keep up but his advantage in range made him superior.
[ HEALTH 54% ]
This is bad.
Where was that Chaplain, again? He's not around whenever I need him. Too much for a Mender he is! He's supposed to aid me in times like this!
That being said, my teammate Greed came out from behind running straight towards the Shikaree.
Rotuel shifted his aim to target him but the Chaplain simply slapped the arrow off. I thought he was going for a punch as soon as he close in but instead he went to a stance to cast ENLIGHTEN.
"I'm not gonna fall for that trick for the third time!" Rotuel said blasting the sphere of light as it formed. The small explosion stunned both of them but it gave me an opportunity to move into position.
Wham!
I threw the projectile straight at the Shikaree's face.
That's my revenge for shooting me earlier.
Wham! Wham!
I threw some more, thanks for the help of ENSORCELL. I created another batch of projectiles but then he moved to quickly charge a SHARP SHOT.
FWOOM!
The shaft of light didn't reached me. It was deflected! The Chaplain swatted the arrow in midair.
That was dangerous! Normal arrows are fine but the one formed from a combat skill is different. It should have damaged him good but my teammate didn't bother as if it has no effect.
[ INVINCIBLE ]
The panel appeared. It was not due to the effect of a potion but rather it was the item he was wearing.
The VAMBRACE and the PAULDRON in his arm was gone. Even the GRAN ALLOY was gone. Actually, his whole right arm was gone! It has been replaced by a machine!
•••••
AIRGETLAM
Type: Garment - Arm (Permanent)

The mythical arm of a famous king. It was said that there was a king whom were cursed to have a metal in place of an arm. The king was smart however that he used this curse to his conquest realizing the metal's real nature.

Durability: UNDESTRUCTIBLE
•••••
An arm made of solid silvery steel. The paper wrappings were gone but instead, the runes were directly etched in his fist.
NO MERCY. The words written in his biceps painted in black ink.
It is allowed to slightly modify the appearance of specific items and the modification that he did on this one is a clear defiance on his avatar.
The Chaplain shortly powered up his left then jabbed at the Shikaree. He followed it with a straight using his metal arm and a hook using the other.
The enemy tried running off to their pool but it was useless. Well, partly because I'm not letting him. I shot a projectile on his leg causing him to fall on the ground.
I felt the anguish in his face as he tried to stand back.
It was inevitable. There were two of us here and his avatar is not great in this kind of situation.
It was not that long since the match started. We have already took down one of their golems and scored them 2-0.
I thought my teammate was crazy when he said he would go for attack. I mean, we were facing a Shikaree and a Berserkr known for their aggressiveness.
Despite the fact that his chosen avatar was relevantly weak in terms of strength, he said it with a straight face as if it was the right thing to do.
Well, it worked, he did went on attack; mostly when I was not present but it sure was crazy for him to attack even without a teammate around.
Actually he was crazy from the moment he asked for this duel. Worse when he suddenly picked the Chaplain. Even more when he said he doesn't have other avatars aside from it.
But as he stood before the helpless Shikaree I thought he was something. A mere Mender stomping over two powerhouse avatars.
I was lost in thought for moment but as the Shikaree struggled to stand up, Greed being the Chaplain then grabbed him by the collar and spoke, "say your prayers."
The Shikaree hissed in response and after a few solid punches a panel appeared.

A Beginner's Guide to Napping, Sunbathing, and Slaughtering Your Prey
Fang is a simple cat. Fang likes napping in the sun. Fang does not like being called Chairman Meow. Fang likes his belly being scratched for precisely 17.329 seconds. Fang does not like being punted between dimensions. Fang likes hunting and killing defenseless wildlife. Fang does not like mysterious blue boxes that appear out of thin air. Fang is having a Very Bad Day. A few things to note: Fang is a cat soul in a cat body, and that's not going to change any time soon. No cat girl evolution or possessed puppet or any of that. The slice of life tag is there for a reason. There is no epic tale here, only a cat doing cat things in a (hopefully) interesting setting. The game elements are pretty light, mostly there for flavor, so don't expect a huge amount of crunch. Nature is cruel, and cats are crueler than most.

Journey of my Core
I have a hard time referring anything that I write to as 'Original'. The longer we as a species exist the harder it is to be truly original, I am certainly influenced by all that I read and watch Including but not limited to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, and all of the stories here on Royal Road. From the start the MC is only able to comprehend the most basic of what is impacting it with very little to no understanding of the MC's surroundings. There may be updates in the future, but I am in no way a consistant writer. I will never claim to be the best artist, but I drew a representation for my story. Procrastination... Procrastination... Procrastination... Procrastination... Procrastination...
