《Moonlight Sword Sect》Temple Of The Moon Goddess (3/7)

"Yes." Hanbai looks around before saying yes. He was scouting the nearby area if there is any frosts giants or dragons roaming the land.
As we walk together for a while without encountering anything other than frosts giants and dragons, I look at the edifice over us.
It was getting bigger and bigger as we get closer to it. The woman with a veil too was getting bigger and bigger.
If this edifice was compared to an average mountain, the mountain would surely lose face as the edifice was taller than the average size of a mountain. Yep, I'm not joking.
"It's been a while since I went to the temple." Hanbai telepathically said.
Once again, my mind became a place for a telepathic talk.
"What does it look like inside, Hanbai?" Eidenweiss asks Hanbai. It seems that this is the first time Eidenweiss going here.
"Similar to a castle. Also, in every hall of the temple, you could see several to a bunch of paintings and statues of the goddess." Hanbai responds to Eidenweiss' question.
Is the goddess narcissist perhaps? Just by Hanbai's explanation, it looks like the goddess really likes her face huh….
It's kind of weird and cool at the same time.
That's what I think, I guess?
"Come to think of it…" Hanbai stops talking as he tries recalling something. After a few seconds, he continued, "The smile of the goddess is quite similar to someone…"
The smile of the goddess? What smile?
Wait… that malicious smile of that woman with a veil?
"Forget it… I forgot who it is." Hanbai said as he became silent once again.
"Idiot Hanbai." Yue Shin said. He was mocking Hanbai for forgetting something.
"Idiot Yue." Hanbai strikes back. F*ck, this is going to become bothersome.
Soon after, a barrage of cursing words from Hanbai and Yue Shin rang through my head, causing my head to hurt. They were talking endlessly as if they only have a few breaths left before dying.
This lady cannot handle such things like that, you know?
"Stop it, both of you." Fira spoke. As soon as she spoke, both Hanbai and Yue Shin became silent as if they were cute little dogs following a master. Wahh… so cute.
Ehem, I mean they're just cute when they behave like cute animals. If you imagine Hanbai and Yue Shin as two cute dogs, you can say that they are cute too. Right?
Right?
"How many floors are there inside the temple?" Fira asks Hanbai telepathically about the stories in the temple.
"More than a hundred." Hanbai continued, "Five to fifteen meters per height of each average floor."
I gasp at Hanbai's answer. Fifteen meters for just one floor is too high you know? It's the same height as those walls of certain castles of the mortal world.

I once again look at the edifice over us. There were large panels of windows and giant statues carrying giant pillars on the top of its head. Other than that, there were also intricate designs and exquisite architectural designs the edifice had.
"What floor is the largest?" Fira once again asks Hanbai.
"Fifty-seventh floor. Also known as the floating library. That floor has a height of twenty meters." Hanbai once again, answers Fira's question.
I'm sure that a boss of some sort lurks around in that area. I am sure of it.
This lady had already seen enough plot lines and cliches. I know that there's gotta be a big bad monster roaming that area.
How did I know this? Well, when I was in the mortal world back then, I read a lot of fairy tale books when I'm either bored or free. Since then, I learned a lot of things just by reading books.
After reading so many books, I finally broke free from my chains and became an intellectual.
Yes, a true intellectual.
Don't laugh at it okay? This lady is trying her best to become a true intellectual.
After asking questions, Fira became silent once again. So does Hanbai and Yue Shin. Finally, my head was filled with silence as they end their conversations.
Finally, there was once again peace in my head.
"We're here." Fira said as she looks at the gigantic edifice in front of her.
After walking for god-knows-how-long, we finally reached the place where Eumi's master is currently cultivating at.
Looking in my front, I saw multiple gigantic statues covered with pure white snow guarding a giant shrine gate in front of us.
Fira goes forward until one of the gigantic statues signals her to stop as it draws out a giant poleaxe from its back. The gigantic statue then speaks gibberish as it blocks away Fira from entering the giant door.
Like the gigantic statue, Fira also speaks gibberish. She then bows after speaking gibberish. Which the gigantic statue, in turn, nods back at her.
After nodding, the gigantic statue withdraws the giant poleaxe and put it back on its back. One by one, the four masters and Eumi bows at the gigantic statue.
Even the scary giant also bows in front of the gigantic statue. What?
Should I also bow? Err…
Nah, I should bow to pay respects.
Like the others, I also bow in respect to the gigantic statue. Soon afterward, two gigantic statues open the gigantic shrine door. It seems like Fira ordered the giant to open the door huh…
Cool…
After it opens the door, the gigantic statue once again spoke gibberish. Aside from the statue's body movements, I do not know what the statue is saying.
Judging from its body movements, it looks like something must have happened in the temple. Is it because of Eumi's master perhaps? Or is it because of those hidden bosses?

Wait… am I in an R*G story? Nah, that's not happening.
"The giant says that something sinister had happened over the past century." Fira explains the words of the giant to everyone. See? This lady is right?
Sinister cliche, check! Now… as for the surprise boss…
I am truly an intellectual for knowing such scenarios.
Though… if the floors inside are really sinister…
I should prepare myself. I'm not even an immortal cultivator yet to handle such bosses.
"Xiare?" Eumi looks at me worriedly. What's wrong? Is there something on my face?
"What's wrong?" I ask. There's nothing wrong right?
I look at my body. It is the same as usual though? My two cute buns are still here. Oh no! I forgot to censor it!
Sigh... whatever, I already said it so yeah... I have a cute two buns on my chest. What about it?
"We're the only ones left outside." Eumi said to me as she points the gigantic shrine door.
"Ah?" I ask dumbfounded. Surely, they just here a few seconds ago right?
"You've been standing here for a while." She said as she looks worriedly at my face.
She then checks my forehead using her hand to see if I am sick or not. I'm not sick okay? This lady is better than ever.
"Your forehead is so cold." Eumi immediately puts her hand away from my hand. Well yeah, I am currently practicing the「Breath of the Moon Goddess」right now.
"It's the side-effect of the pills the Sword Summoner gave me earlier haha…" Immediately, I lied to Eumi.
"I see." Eumi said worriedly. Ehh…. don't look at me like that...
"By the way, where are the others?" I look around as I ask Eumi where is everyone.
"They were already inside the temple." She answers my question with a soft sigh.
"But they were just here seconds ago?" I furrow my brows at Eumi. Are you kidding me? They were just here a couple of seconds ago though.
"About that…" Eumi looks at the ground, evading my gaze. "After the Eyewatcher master talked to the Moon Devas, we went inside the shrine door together. However, when True Wielder master noticed that you weren't inside, we head back outside to see you if you are still outside. As we go outside the temple, we saw you simply gazing at the moon goddess on the top of the temple like someone who has been mesmerized by a mermaid." She calmly explained.
As I listen to her words, fear struck my heart. I did not even look at the woman with the veil right? How come Eumi and the others saw me gazing at the woman. Wait...
F*ck! I feel that this place is ominous.
"Xiare? Xiare?" Eumi shakes my body as I think about the goddess. I look at her and said, "Tell me more."
I really do not recall myself looking above like an idiot.
"You were just simply standing as you look at the goddess. The four masters wished to stay with you at first but since you were not in danger, they entered the temple once again." She said while glancing at my face from time to time.
"Weird…." I murmured. Just how in the world did I end up gazing at the woman with the veil?
"We should go now." Eumi holds my hand as she drags me to the shrine doors. Although I want to resist, I simply let myself be dragged by the shivering Eumi as we head to the door.
She forgot that I was really cold huh…
But really, something's not right here.
I look above while being dragged by the shivering cute Eumi. The woman with a veil was just simply smiling at the portal we entered earlier.
"Huuuuu…." Eumi softly murmurs as she tries to not embarrass herself. She was shivering as she continuously drags me to the door. However, she did not want to embarrass herself in front of me so hid the fact that she was cold despite her body shivering.
Errr…. you should stop if you are feeling cold you know?
As we head into the door, a mysterious force sucks us into the door, causing both Eumi and my vision to change from a black door to a large hall with paintings hanging over the walls of the hall.
"We're here… hooo…." Eumi instantly takes her hand away from my hand as soon as we got inside the temple. She was really cold.
"Where are they?" I asked as I search them across the hall. There were no signs of Eidenweiss and the others here.
"Ah?" Eumi was also dumbfounded as she looks at the hall. It was as if she was completely new to this place.
I look at her shocked face. "What is it?" I ask her.
Well, I don't really know why you are shocked so please, just tell me why are you shocked okay?
This lady here is unable to read minds okay? I'm not Y*e Sh*n you know?
"W-w-we…" Like someone who got their wife lost, Eumi looks at me and immediately hugs me. Err… you do know that hugging me will make you shiver out of cold right?
"W-w-we g-g-got s-sepe-rated." Eumi, who was shivering, spoke out these words.

Hy'Ruh-Ha is a what I consider a chronicle fantasy. It is a fantasy drama coming of age story inspired by slice-of-life stories I've read and watched. It is heavy on the slice-of-life and does move slow. It is low-stakes fantasy. This particular story is romance free.(2 out the of 4 is re-uploaded under this title) And if you are someone who cares, the POV character is asexual. Crossroad(formally labeled as the intermission stories)- is a novella collection continuing the tale where Hy'ruh-Ha. The collection as followed: Wolf- After spending several months in the swamp post, Oeric'Sheldmartin returns to repair the chasm between him and his son, Soletus. However, a ghost from his past comes to haunt him and could ruin the life he's made completely. Note: Wolf is a bit of a character piece. POV character is Oeric. The Priest and the Priestess- A novella written in the POV of Mien and then Kiao after a series of unexpected events that change their lives. Mien's POV- Mien has spent the last couple of years working not only in the infirmary but training to become a combat chanter as part of his penitence. Then one day, a drug addled elf comes into infirmary and changes his perspective of a friend and puts his knowledge to the tests to figure out a mystery effecting children in town. *Spoiler warning* Kiao's POV- Kiao spent most of her time in the infirmary living the same daily secret filled life and until Mien changed it.
