《The Conqueror's Black Book》Chapter Twenty: Seven: Oath

This is-!" Odin was shocked to witness the bloody unconscious monster he routed turned out to be some boy. After observing for a while he noticed some similarities to the man he killed and the boy he struck.
"Hm? He's still breathing even with those wounds?" Leo was the first to notice the boys condition.
"I see, this was an act of revenge." Odin remarked as he gave off a small smile.
"Do we...finish the job on the boy too?" Leo made a gesture by bringing his finger across his neck.
"No, in fact, use your blessed bow to heal the boy and get somebody to feed him, the rest of us will move along and take care the corpses of our fallen soldiers." Odin gave the order to save the boy
"What about the bounty for Kain?"Leo followed up, a bit concerned over the massive amount.
"Leave it, He gave me a good fight so I will leave him his honor." Odin waved off his plea almost immediately.
"But won't the boy try to attack you for what you did when he gets older?" Leo was confused this time, he couldn't understand his lord's mind.
"Ahaha ahahahahahahh! I welcome any threat to my life! The next time he believes he has the ability to confront me will be his last! Now go!" A crazed grin appeared on Odin's face as he started laughing loudly and retrieved his spear and walked away.
"I see.." Leo nodded and made the arrangements. He went to the wounded boy near death's door and summoned his bow once again. Rather than the golden arrow he used on enemies, the arrow he summoned was tinted with a green, holy looking energy.
"Blessed bow: Divine Arrow!"
With that, he shot at the boy with a massive amount of energy. The wounds the boy had from the arrows were quickly sealed up while the spear wound stopped bleeding and scabbed quickly.
"Phew, using the healing arrow really drains me of too much energy." Leo muttered while dragging some rations over to the unconscious boy before returning back to his group. After clearing the situation, the caravan returned to the road.
The caravan kept moving and all that was left in it's wake were one small boy and one corpse with fruits and water laid about as well as clothing. After two hours the boy groggily awoke.
"I'm... Not... Dead?" He felt his body and was surprised to see bandages all around him and food all over. He then remembered the situation and hurriedly looked around. His heart dropped when he saw his father.
He was lying motionlessly on the ground, dead with his eyes open. He could still vividly recall his Father's last moments, telling him to hide and then being impaled by that villain.
Ares quietly got up and ignoring the food, ignoring the water, ignoring the clothes by the side, he started digging at the muddy ground in silence with only his bare hands.
With each swipe of the dirt he would hear his father's voice and the swing of a spear, haunting him constantly as if the scene was once again in front of him.
After forty minutes of digging at the hard ground he finally made a large enough hole in which he placed his deceased father. As he was struggling to bury his much larger father into the hole, a ragged maroon bandana fell to the side. It took Ares another ten minutes of dutifully burying his father in silence before the hole was filled.

He then noticed the ragged bandana by the side and almost as if it triggered his memories of his father, he cried almost immediately in sorrow.
"Fa-Father! Heurgh, no..."
Despite shaking in sadness and rage, he picked up the bandana and placed it in his clothes and hurriedly wiped at his tears.
He was only eight years old but he already had his life's mission, he would uphold the legacy of the Seldyne's killer path and achieve retribution for his father!
"I...Will....Kill....Him....For....Seldyne....Father..."
Ares looked to the sky and while touching the ground, made one last vow to his dead father that the man would pay for what he had done.
He then put on the new clothes and ate the food in utmost silence whilst being covered in dirt and grime. Even his purple hair had dirt suppressing its beautiful color. With his purple eyes cold and focused, he finished his meal and slowly got up.
He then made his way opposite in direction the man went in, he decided to bide his time until he had the strength to wrest the life out of the villain.
"Odin....Odin.....Odin..." He muttered the name as he walked into the forest with a light limp and some rations, branding the name into his heart.

After four days of peace and quiet, Zephyr was still fuming over his inability to recreate the runes listed on the book. He was already awake in the morning and was just studying runes to pass the time, soon Magma and Aqua awoke and got ready.
"Let's go Zephyr, I heard Simon returned!" Aqua looked excited as he ran off with Magma.
"Oh?" Zephyr put down his book and also left the room with them, following the stream of boys going down the stairs and heading to school. They made it to class a bit later than usual and were pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face.
"Simon!" The three yelled as they approached the boy sitting behind Lute.
"Hey guys, miss me?" He shined a bright grin at them as he also laughed aloud. The group were quickly catching up while they heard about Simon's travels and experiences.
Apparently their father took him and his brother to the border of Oswald to visit a man and receive some items while they learned some martial arts. The man was apparently a respected teacher who his father held in high esteem.
Simon remained mysterious about his experience, just saying with a smile that he would show them later with a mischevious grin.
Linus then appeared in class slovenly as usual but he still somehow kept his scholarly look up without the slightest shame.
"Finally our long awaited prince charming has appeared, we can now finally do our weekly sparring session. Everyone follow me!" After seeing Simon, he quickly got down to business.
He lead the group of kids and went straight to the back to the field. There waiting was Miss Barnett's class happily chatting.
"Everything ready?" She went to confirm.
"All set" he assented.
Linus then turned to the cluster of kids and explained the lesson plan.
"Alright, everyone pair up and let's get the show on the road! I'm excited to see what this class has to show!" He spoke full of expectation.

Kids already had their rivals locked in and rushed to pair off.
A surprising thing for Zephyr as he was just about to go with Lute was that Selene came out of nowhere and faced off with Lute.
"I want a rematch, we need to settle this." Selene demanded in a heavy tone.
"Sure" Lute gave a nod as they both walked away with serious faces, leaving a dumbfounded Zephyr with Magma, Aqua, and Rory.
When Simon was going to approach Zephyr, someone interfered. Kaiser somehow appeared in front of Simon and pointed at him and then at himself. The look of disdain he gave Simon also triggered him into accepting.
They both walked off into the distance and got into battle stance. Aqua also took this chance to challenge Rory and went a few meters away to test themselves. Needless to say, the match ended quickly since the scrawny Aqua couldn't do much in a fight.
When Magma went to Zephyr as they both needed a partner, Zephyr and Magma just did a quick close combat competition to measure their proficiency. Even with Magma trying his best, his pudgy body still fell short to Zephyr and he quickly lost. The group of four then came to stand by the side as they watched Simon together.
Zephyr intently watched the two warmup, even choosing to ignore Lute's intense match with Selena..
"This is a good time to see what Kaiser has, and what Simon has hiding up his sleeve." Zephyr thought.
Despite all the noise being made around the field, even the two teachers were able to detect what was going on and keep focus on them as both their aura's were the most intense among the students.
Linus even went so far as to act as a referee to make sure anything untoward didn't happen.
"Begin!" With that Simon hurriedly activated his sacred aura to enclose him as he rushed the unmoving Kaiser with great intensity as he gave a great stare full of focus.
Kaiser's eyes flashed a bright silver as he made eye contact, which was mostly hidden by the mask so no one else noticed the abnormality.
Simon then clenched his fist and wildly threw a right hook which he was surprised to see land with no opposition. After that he started barreling forward and repeatedly smash the still standing Kaiser from all amgles.
Even he thought he was going too far but he was wondering why the teacher wasn't calling it off, thus continued to pile on the pressure.
"What's going on?" Zephyr confusedly asked.
"He's not moving!" Aqua and Magma spoke together in shock.
Simon never moved from his original position even after summoning his sacred aura while Kaiser was still standing there with three bright rings hovering around him.
Kaiser raised his hand and one of the rings increased in size and started going above Simons head. Confused, Zephyr and co watched as energy started converging in the middle of the ring for no apparent reason.
"Wait! Stop! You've won Kaiser!" Linus took notice first and tried preventing what was going to happen. With that announcement, Kaiser dispersed the energy and the rings disappeared. That finally allowed Simon to break out of his reverie.
"Whats going on? Wasn't I winning? Why didn't you stop me teacher?" Simon confusedly asked.
"You...you lost Simon" Aqua spoke up to alert Simon to the situation.
"Hmph, pathetic." With that Kaiser walked away and stood at a lone spot. Aqua hurriedly explained the weird situation and it took a bit for it to hit home with Simon.
"WHAT!?! I couldn't even showcase my new skills, how boring." Simon started fuming while Zephyr remained serious. He approached Kaiser and asked a question that was bothering him.
"Did you do something to his mind?"
"..." He got no response, not even an acknowledgment.
"Hey! I'm speaking to you!" Zephyr got mad being ignored and what he got stoked the flames of rage even harder.
"Should I bother myself with incompetent people. Leave from my sight or don't blame me for what's gonna happen." With that Kaiser went silent while Zephyr gave an ominous chuckle.
Kaiser only concerned himself with the three people Reeves told him about, Simon, Selene, and Lute. Everyone else in his eyes were still weak kids who couldn't fight yet.
"Wanna have a go?" He challenged Kaiser
"Why would I when I know the obvious result, leave me alone." Kaiser rejected him but what he got was a kick coming his way. Since he wasn't paying attention it landed on his waist and sent him flying which brought the teachers attention to the debacle.
"What's going on here!?! Who allowed you two to fight!" Linus roared angrily but then was quickly shut up. A dark aura emerged which made him dodge out the way. The three shining rings were black this time and started flying towards Zephyr.
Seeing this, Zephyr felt the feeling he was going to die if he let them touch him and hurriedly ran to avoid them. When he looked at Kaiser's face he saw a bright flash through the holes of the Oni and quickly reacted.
He had high combat IQ and was able to associate what he saw with what happened to Simon. He quickly summoned his black armor and Flaare and shot a weaker version of Blazing Annihilation in his surroundings and after everything was destroyed was when he was brought back to reality.
When he was going to summon his armor in real life as well was when his feet felt stuck. He hurriedly looked down and was shocked, a mud swamp appeared!
Believing it to be Kaiser's as well he looked at his enemy but was surprised to see him in the same predicament. Linus came from the side and started scolding them viciously.
"NEVER EVER start a fight with your blessings without explicit consent! Also, do not provoke anybody randomly Zephyr! And you Kaiser! Don't strike to kill a fellow classmate EVER AGAIN!" By this point both the likes of Zephyr and Kaiser had only there heads above ground as they were struggling.
Linus then humphed and announced to the class they would be left out there for two hours to take in their mistakes, bidding goodbye to Miss Barnett amd her class, taking the class with him elsewhere, forbidding anyone from coming close.
