《A human's tale》Kite

Kite had an innate ability to conceal his power level from a scouter. He had only shown a power level of 2 million. That is why he had been able to survive till this day in space. Bounty hunters, galactic police, and his enemies had been killed by him because they had underestimated him. Even his closest associates were not aware of this secret.
Today, Kite had gotten info from an insider in the galactic patrol force that his location had been revealed and a task force had been dispatched to apprehend him.
'I should leave this northern region after wiping out this task force. I can not afford to openly challenge the galactic patrol force.' Kite thought.
He was confident that he would be able to wipe out the task force as he had called all of his subordinates back to this planet. The galactic patrol force was about to ambush him but Kite had already prepared to counter-ambush him.
Rayhan was having an uneasy feeling about this ambush. His gut had been itching and telling him something was wrong with this mission. They had been using a life signature masking technology. So, There was no way that the enemy should have known that they were here. But Rayhan felt a slight ki fluctuation 10 kilometers ahead. This life signature masking technology was pretty good because it could fool even his ki sense. So, he concluded that he had just imagined the earlier fluctuation.
They silently walked 1 kilometer ahead and he felt the ki signature again. This time he sensed it. So he decided to inform the captain of this operation about this.
"Hey, Captain, I have discovered something." He spoke to the captain telepathically.
The captain was baffled and looked around.
"It's me, the guy who was specially recruited to confront Kite," Rayhan told him his identity.
This captain had seen plenty of strange abilities while serving in the force so he didn't find it strange that someone was talking into his mind.

"What did you find?" The captain asked.
"It seems someone leaked the intel. There is a rat in the force." Rayhan explained.
"Unlikely but go on." The captain said.
"There is an ambush 9 kilometers ahead of us. They are using the technology to mask life signature." Rayhan supplied the information.
"Impossible! This technology is exclusive to the galactic patrol force and It is rather new. There is no way it has leaked out." The captain exclaimed.
"You will see the truth after traveling another 8 kilometers." Rayhan chuckled.
The captain had a grave expression on his face. He had been raised by the force and he was loyal. He wanted to tear the rat limb by limb at this moment.
"Hmm. Can you communicate with headquarters now?" Rayhan asked.
"Yes, It will take 5 minutes to set up though. Why?" He asked.
"The one who sold the technology to these pirates most have some semblance of guarantee that this task force won't be able to return alive. He must have been counting on this ambush to finish us off. What will happen if we return alive and give the information to the headquarter about the leakage of technology? The person who has been supplying technology to these pirates will be aware, making it impossible to catch. Also, said person might just try to assassinate you guys out of spite. So, why not inform the highest authority directly now and let him or her assess everyone's reaction when we return. It will increase the chances of catching the culprit." Rayhan explained. Rayhan didn't want to help them catch a rat. However, It was always good when the other party owed you a favor.
"But the information has not been confirmed yet." The captain hesitated.
"If I am wrong then there will be no harm done but if I am right, then what?" Rayhan said.
The captain took out a weird phone, waited for five minutes, and sent a message to the highest authority.

By this point, they had already reached 2 kilometers from the ambush location.
Rayhan could sense ki signatures clearly from this distance. So, he talked telepathically to the soldiers and told them the exact location of 50 people that were hiding in ambush.
These galactic patrol people had amazing technology and their laser guns were off the charts. With the help of technology, the captain who had a power level of 1.5 million might just be able to take on Kite who had a power level of 2 million.
800 meters away from their ambushers and they abruptly fired the laser towards 50 people's exact location. In a blink of an eye, half of them had died or seriously been injured. This is how without any drama or prolonged fight majority of pirates had been dealt with.
'Damn! I need to get one of those guns. They could come in handy.' Rayhan thought.
An angry yell reverberated throughout the area and an Ox-type humanoid flew into the sky.
"Target confirmed. Everyone ready for combat." The captain said.
Kite had been pretty confident of finishing off the galactic patrol task force, but he had not expected all of his subordinates to be done in by them even before the fighting had started.
"No one shall leave alive" Kite growled as he sent a huge ki beam towards the task force to vaporize them to dust.
The task force responded with ki beams of their own using their weapon.
"Captain, His power level is above 3 million." One of the soldiers screamed as their ki beams were struggling against Kite.
"Even our intel was wrong." The captain said clenching his jaws while supplying his ki to the laser gun.
"No. It seems that he can hide his ki." Rayhan supplied. Rayhan had not joined in with the force in repelling the enemy.
Rayhan telepathically said to the captain, "That guy's power level is nearing 3.5 million. So, we will be dead no matter how we struggle. But I have something up my sleeve. You guys exhaust him. Try to make it a contest of ki beams. If he comes close quarters, there will be a lot of casualties before I can finish him off."
"Will you be able to do it?" The captain asked in doubt.
"I can," Rayhan said.
"Okay. Our lives are in your hands from now on." The captain said.
After that for five minutes, the captain did everything in his means to make it a battle of ki beams and barely managed the feat. It was only possible because the enemy was enraged as they had killed all the loyal subordinates that he had nurtured over the last 50 years. It was natural for him to be enraged as his life's work had been destroyed in a moment.
The galactic patrol force's people were exhausted to the maximum but Kite was still full of power. Only 50% of his power had been spent to contend against 50 people with guns.
"Now you will die you bastards" Kite said laughing.
Right at this moment, a strong punch hit him from behind and Kite was flung away like a kite. Kite had not paid mind to an insignificant soldier who had been frozen stiff when he had attacked with a huge ki bean but now he realized that this person had attacked him. The attack was very strong as well. Kite felt like his organs had shifted and his ribs had been broken.
Rayhan had directly used Kaio-ken times six, sneaked up on Kite, and punched him with full force.
However, even after being exhausted and injured Kite gave Rayhan a good fight.
In the end, Kite died of blood loss, broken bones, tear in muscles, and busted internal organs. In simple words, he was pummeled to death.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

Living as a Demon
Jonathan was living the life of a normal human male in modern-day society, until he was rudely awakened one night by a summoning circle that ripped him out of his reality and dumped him into a new world filled with magic, demons, and…mouthy young orphan girls?! Now Jonathan must navigate the trials of playing guardian to a preteen, learning to unlock his inner demon, and somehow managing to find a dang pair of pants! Welcome! I'm E.O. Tenkey; thank you for considering Living as a Demon, my third released work here on Royal Road (following Not a Manga and Mr. Familiar)! Let's set some expectations, shall we? • Not much hard profanity (chapter 1 is the exception!)• Human MC! Our protagonist is a bona fide homo sapiens. Which is not to say there won't be demons, demonic powers, and what-have-you, but this isn't some grimdark exploration of the life and times of a nihilistic, amoral killing machine.• Slice of life. My previous works always ended up there, so might as well get ahead of the curve!• Weekly updates, and a completed story: I will post a single chapter per week on Wednesdays until the story is complete (extra chapters are rare, but do happen).
