《Godfather World》Laundromat Drama

There were only a few more minutes before the Basilisk spawned, but already, the partners in crime hiding it out in the laundromat received their second round of bad news.
Party Undead was completely wiped out, and Guild Carnage was disbanded from the lack of members.
“Fuck!” Johan hissed and was about to toss another stick of dynamite when Felix stopped him.
“Get angry later,” he told the terrorist. “A monster has arrived. I’ll leave him to you.”
Before the sneaky mafia leader could escape, Liu Feng sent him flying with an open palm strike from the left. Instead of entering through the door like a normal person, the Seer used stealth and shadow steps to confuse his enemies before launching a surprise attack.
Johan cursed as he watched his partner get flung into a dryer. The metal dented, and even if Felix was sturdier than most people, he would have suffered a few cracked bones from that. The Seer’s bone-crushing skills weren’t a joke, and they were severely disadvantaged in this enclosed space. His explosives would kill his only ticket out of this hellhole, and the bomber clicked his tongue in annoyance. Why was Felix so weak?
Liu Feng smirked. He roughly understood the dynamics in Guild Carnage. While it appeared as if Johan called the shots, the true mastermind was Felix “Hunter” Martin. If there was something the sly mafia leader was good at, it would be leadership and dirty tricks. Guild Carnage was able to convince a neutral party like the Amazonian to join Carnage because of this man. Liu Feng had enough.
It was high time they disbanded and took the back seat in this battle royale. With him around, he wasn’t going to let them have an opportunity to kill the boss monster. Zen was still waiting for Akiko and Party Freedom to deliver the black eggs to craft his Rainbow eggs, so Liu Feng thought he would buy them more time.
This plan of Zen’s must succeed. Even Party Freedom took out Party Undead. It was best to keep the fact that Party Undead was murdered by their guild members from Zen. He didn’t want to cook to feel responsible for their deaths for some strange reason.
Johan looked around and prioritised escape now that his client was down. However, it was easier said than done. With an opponent like the Seer, Johan had to watch his back if he wanted to survive. One wrong move, and he would be turned into calcium powder.
Liu Feng frowned when the Terrorist became quiet. The teen was usually yapping away, spewing vulgar words like an old truck driver. His temper was unpredictable, and anyone knew that he would stab his comrades in the back at any moment on a whim. However, with Felix down, the teen had a moment of sanity. That alone spoke volumes to Liu Feng.

Johan realised it a moment too late as the Seer sidestepped him to get to his partner, who was struggling to get up from the dryer he crashed into.
“Get up you, infidel!” Johan shouted and threw a smaller sized grenade at Liu Feng, who evaded it.
The explosion was small, but it hit Felix, creating a hole beneath the injured man. Johan quickly cut the Seer’s path with a rain of whistling fireworks armed with lithium. It was one of his special inventions, and the flammable projectiles singed one corner of Liu Feng’s sleeve.
The fire would not be put out easily, so Liu Feng discarded his robe top, letting the world see his well-defined muscles beneath his conservative clothes. However, that wasn’t all they saw. The numerous slash scars, bullet wounds and eye-catching tattoo of the Lau Triad’s signature dragon on his back beneath his cascading hair spoke volumes about just how dangerous this teen was.
Johan whistled in joy now that the distraction was out of the way. Ever since he entered the academy, the terrorist always wanted to have a proper match to the death with the Seer and the Death Princess. Without the stupid Godfather candidate in his way, Johan did not withhold his attacks. Even if he had to bring the whole building down, he would turn that body into a beautiful explosion of meat and blood.
Liu Feng did not need eyes to sense the sickening thoughts Johan had about him. Was that the man’s true objective? To disrobe him and enjoy killing him in a perverse manner? How utterly boring.
The live broadcast lost connection for a while after Johan threw up several sticks of dynamite in all directions, surrounding the Seer, who made no indication to move. All camera visuals were downed even if they were in a virtual arena because of the smoke particles.
It took the Godfather’s administrative team a while to remove the smoke particles effect for the viewers, but by then, the two powerhouses were exchanging punches for grenades. Any explosive that Johan had, he used it as a distraction to lure the blind teen closer to the pit of death he created. Even in a game, fall damage physics applied. Too bad the Seer wouldn’t know what he was planning as he dodged all those cleverly placed bombs.
From the audiences’ perspective, the two hotties were simply dancing around each other in a stalemate. However, only those from the underworld pitied the blind teen. The Lau Triad members watching the live broadcast glowered at the sneaky teen taking advantage of their second young master’s disability. Only the head of the Lau Triad family remained calm.
“Should we send the second young master an in-game aid?” one subordinate asked, but Liu Feng’s older brother shook his head.

“If you cannot tell such a simple trick, he isn’t worthy of that pledge he made. I’ll send him a razor to shave his head bald if he falls into it.”
Indeed, the pit that Johan created from throwing bombs was getting deeper as they danced around the laundromat. There was debris all over, and Liu Feng was starting to find navigating difficult. He should put an end to this nonsense as soon as he could.
“Hey,” Johan called out in the middle of their fight. “If I killed you, do you think I can get back the flag Oritha and the useless flies lost?”
Liu Feng smirked. He wasn’t going to be so easily fooled and stood where he was, not moving any closer to Johan.
“Why do you need flags?” he mocked. “You live for violence. After defeating the boss, are points and flags worth anything to you?”
Johan laughed. As expected of the Seer, he was very cautious. Standing just one step away from the pit of death, Liu Feng had to have the luck of the devil. If only he could force this man to stop jumping around it and step into this place.
To tempt the Seer to come in his direction, Johan stepped forward. He was close enough for the Seer to reach if he lunged but still far enough to step backwards and escape if he wanted. This distance made people’s hearts pound, and even the Godfather was on the edge. For the first time, this channel was more interesting than watching Zen’s live broadcast in the kitchen. In the edits, this should be known as the Laundromat Drama. How could two good looking boys create so much tension looking like they were flirting with the promise of death one step away?
Liu Feng frowned at the audacity Johan had. The bomber was out of bombs now. However, he still had the gall to close their distance and stand just shy from his lethal grasp. The distance of one step never felt so far before.
Johan grinned when he saw how the blind teen was considering getting over here and snapping his neck to end this chase. A little closer, and he would be able to take this idiot down with him. Guild Survivor would be severely crippled with the Death Princess having to shoulder so many liabilities. Nobody would support that weak cook, and not even Amazonian could protect him from Felix’s scheming.
Liu Feng decided to bite the bait. Whatever this bomber was planning, Liu Feng would walk into that trap to entertain him before showing him what true despair meant.
Johan’s grin grew wider when he saw just how the Seer lunged towards him in a fierce leap with outstretched hands. Instead of sidestepping, the bomber moved backwards and watched as the Seer failed to find footing.
With quick reflexes, Liu Feng quickly caught the edge of the floor he stood on previously as Johan laughed in disbelief at how difficult it was to kill this sissy blind man.
The bomber applauded, and Liu Feng remained calm. So they were going to play the game like this? He could put on an act as well.
The world watched the two men in the laundromat with hitched breaths. Even the Godfather did not know what was going to happen. Two of the three strongest candidates of the academy were now trying to take each other out. In which world did battle royales work this way where the strong tried to eliminate each other in the first round? Nobody would want to watch this kind of drama!
In an attempt to save this crappy story progression, the Godfather released the basilisk five minutes earlier than scheduled.
[Important System Announcement to all event candidates. The Basilisk is spawning in the Games Room. The rewards for the person who deals the Basilisk with the most damage will be rewarded with the ability to equip one dungeon found item in any future events. Try to stay alive.]
Johan quickly changed his tune and took a look at Liu Feng with disgust.
“What bad timing. You get to live for today, Seer. The next time I see you, I will turn you into a meat and blood explosion. Make sure that little chef feeds you well. I’d hate to see an underwhelming splatter of meat and blood when I finally kill you.”
Instead of rising to the bait, Liu Feng smirked.
“Don’t count on it,” he told Johan, who was now close enough for him to drag into this death pit.
With one fluid pull, he jumped up to grab the bomber’s ankle and threw him into the pit while using that momentum to jump out of it. Johan’s yelp became softer as he descended quickly as Liu Feng stumbled around the debris in the laundromat.
The world went silent as they watched the twist in events. Even the Godfather was slow to respond with credits. However, only one man watching the live broadcast smirked.
The head of the Lau Triad took a long puff from his opium pipe and switched channels to the candidate that his younger brother swore to protect in the death games.
“Let’s see what you’re capable of,” the Lau Triad leader narrowed his eyes. Liu Feng did not get attached to anyone easily, and as a big brother, it was his duty to protect his younger brother’s interest from behind the scenes now that Liu Feng proved himself.

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
