《The 100th hero》Chapter 12

I was now standing in front of the Oas Inn, which Emilia had suggested to me. It had more similarity to a haunted house than an inn.
As I entered the wooden ground crackled as it was going to break down. Also, the interior didn't look inviting. Everything inside looked gloomy. At the reception, an old man was sitting; he was filling a crossword puzzle in a newspaper. His face was grumpy.
"Hi, the guild has recommended me this Inn, is there any room left?" I asked the old man.
"500 lux per night. Condition, book at least one wee!" he said with a rough voice while he was staring on the crossword. He didn't even glance at me.
"500 lux? I have to book for one week?" I asked him.
"If you don't want to book, you can try elsewhere, but the price there is ten times higher than here".
I was already mentally exhausted, so with greet teeth, I paid for one week.
He handed me the key and said firmly "first floor, last room, number 110". I took the old stairs and reached the last room.
The inside of the room didn't look better than the outside. Through the small windows, I was able to detect a small bed, a sofa and a small wardrobe. Also, a small room on the left side seemed to be a bathroom.
I felt on the bed, and a vast of dust covered my sigh. I coughed several times before I relaxed my muscles.
One million is gone, one million is gone...
I still couldn't believe what I had done. I cursed myself for acting so hasty. My heard was bleeding.
"Kekeke, not the best day...partner?!" said a cold icy voice. I wouldn't forget this voice. It was a voice which was enough to hear once in life to remember lifelong.
I looked at my right side. The demon was floating through the air. Through the sunlight, I was able to see him fully. His body absorbed the falling sunlight like a black hole. I really couldn't say where his upper body started and ended. Only his distinctive horns, sharp claws I was able to see clearly. His eye didn't have any pupils, only white, which emitted silver blue smoke. I could see his creepy smile. He seemed more amused than interest. From his body arose a light silver blue smoke. First I was worried he was going set the area in flame, but the smoke disappeared after it left the demon body.
I looked at him disinterested and asked him "Who are you?". I was able to hear his voice. From what I had heard, a soul weapon couldn't 't speak, they communicate through telepathy. But this guy was talking.
"Who I am? Who knows..., kekeke" said and set his devilish grin.
"But I know everything about you, kekeke. You have an interesting past, kekeke indeed partner".
My face twitched.
"You seems trying to change, kekek, give up", said the demon.
"People can change", I said, and I quickly regretted to answer his question.
"Kekeke, Not you.A guy who killed his own master..."

I quickly jumped and glared at the demon. "Demon, choose your words wisely! Depends on it, I will decide if you have the right to live!"
"kekeke, what about a deal?" said the demon unchanged from my threat." When you give me your body, I will erase your memories. What do you think? It is a good deal".
"So you want my body. Not even in a hundred years, demon! Don't underestimate me" I said with a serious face.
"Kekeke, one day your body will mine.." with this the demon disappeared and only the katana was there.
I took deep and yelled, "Fuck you demon....".
It was already afternoon; there weren't a lot of people on the street. After I took a cold shower, I decided to find a restaurant to eat something. The cloth which I bought fit me. I was also looking like a medieval guy. I walked along the street; this time, people didn't notice me.
There were a variety of shops. I counted at least thirty weapon shops and ten workshops. I could hear the blow of hammer from inside. There also other shops which sold potion, food, or cloth. My glance jumped from one sign to another. I hoped to find a restaurant to eat in.
Even there were only a few people on the street, and I couldn't find any human here. Also, I started to miss the smell of petrol and even honk of vehicles.
As my stomach growled so loudly, I decided to go to the inn with panda people. I was fascinated by the place that I didn't give any attention in front of me. So, I collided with something soft.
As I turned, I spotted a girl in a black white maid costume. She looked at me with surprise. She had reddish-orange fur. Her upright triangular ears and her long bushy tail told me that she was a fox girl.
"Are you mad? Where do you looking if you walk?" said she with an angry voice, then she quickly picked up several broken parts from the ground. I also noticed that my new t-shirt become wet. It seemed to be water.
Dammit, my back luck continues...
"Oh, sorry, it wasn't my intention." I tried to apologize and decided to move quickly as she grabbed my arm.
"Sorry? Do you think with sorry you can repay it? You have to compensate for the broken can." said she furious and pointed to the broken parts.
Why such things happen to me...
I sighed and wanted to wrap up the incident quickly. "Ok, I will pay it, how much?" I said I was too hungry to fight back.
The fox girl showed with her hand that I should follow her. Also, I noticed that I was standing in front of a big building. On the sign was written "Sunflower". As I entered the building, sweet fragrance reached my nose. Also, my stomach grumbled at the same time more aggressively.
A bakery?
Compared to the house facade, the inside looked more modern, also on the counter was all kind of type sweet placed—cake, doughnut, chocolate, cookies even strange foods. Several tables were occupied.

An old woman with orange hair came from another room, which seemed to be a kitchen. Her glance felt on the fox girl "Celia, what object did ya break this time? Didn't I already warn ya don't break things here! I'm losing my patience with ya."
The old woman with an apron didn't notice me and scolded the fox girl, called Celia. The fox girl defended herself.
"No, no Deidra, this time I wasn't... this human bumped in me. I didn't break anything." She pointed towards me, which the woman looked at me with surprise and frowned.
I quickly grasped the maid personality and decided to turn the table. I had enough suffered today.
"No ma'am. She daydreamed and bumped in me. And then she even accused me of paying it. I came today to the city, and I am innocent. My t-shirt is now ruined. I am a poor guy who came from the countryside. I demand justice ma'am." I set my innocent face and lifted my hand to show my innocent.
The fox girl glared at me with disbelieve and with shock face." H-h-he is laying, Deidre, he bumped in me. How dare to lie me. "She put the first step; I retread one step back. Murderous aura flickered from the fox girl.
"Stop it, Celia! First, ya destroyed the can and knew ya threat a customer."
The old woman looked at me and examined "Young man, I honestly don't believe in ya! But as compensation, I offer ya a free meal for today."
"Thanks, ma'am. I take it." I said with a smile. She pointed towards the stairs which went into the first floor.
"Ya can order a meal on the first floor".
I smirked inside. I never thought that a scene from a Midwest movie would help me to give me a free meal. At least it had paid off.
I got a free meal.
As I climbed the stair, I heard how old woman scolded the fox girl. "How many times I have to repeat, keep yar temper. Do it again, and I kick you out..."
As I reached the first floor, it was larger than the ground floor, enough for fifty or sixty people to sit and eat. I found an empty table in a corner and sat there. It seemed the first ground floor was a bakery and the first floor was a restaurant. There were a few customers. Also, it seemed all the waiters were female. I spotted, a rabbit girl, an elf girl, even a leopard.
I looked at the menu card, which was compact but had a variety of food like pasta, even pizza—also sandwiches. The menu also contained a variety of sweet food. Despite the family food name, there was also strange names. I couldn't imagine what kind of food it was.
"What do you want!" said an annoyance female voice. I lifted my face and discovered the fox girl, standing beside me. She tried to hide her furious, but it was so obvious.
"Is it how you treat a customer miss Celia? I should complain about it..." I teased her with a smile.
Suddenly a demonic aura erupted from her. Even several people looked at use; even I could see worried maid faces. But I didn't let me bother about that.
She forced a smile "Welcome to the Sunflower. What you want, Mr. human?" said she with an undertone of killing intent.
If looks could kill...
I decided not to tease too much who knows maybe she could even poison my food. I ordered several sandwiches. Meanwhile, I observed the place from my corner place. All the current customers were male, no wonder by the beautiful maid.
While I was waiting for my meal, more people came—an old fox grandpa with his grandson, two lizard buddy. Quickly the floor filled, the maid worked flawlessly, took the order and handled it very good. It seemed this place was very popular.
It didn't take long until my food arrived. I wolfed the sandwiches and rinsed it down with a cold hell's beer. The meal here was very delicious, especially after the small victory. Even I ate today for free, and the price seemed to be affordable. I decided to make this my standard restaurant.
After that, I continued my sightseeing in the city. I wandered through the street. Before I realized the twilight was falling, from inside of building white and orange light emanating and give the surrounding a unique touch. Also, the street quickly filled with all kind of animal people. The darker it got, the more people appeared. Animals people, especially girls, were singing outside also inside. I spotted several dwarfs, also lizard hanging together and singing a strange song. A group of panda and penguins were holding a jug and toasted. They seemed to be adventurers with gears. I also saw half-naked woman, singing outside, one of them waved with her hand towards me, but I ignored. I wasn't a party guy.
As night fell, I decided to return to my room. Also, my legs quickly got tired of walking.
Suddenly I heard an anxious voice as I came closer to Oas Inn.
"Mr…mr. Human, wait, mister..wait" said a weak voice. I stopped and turned left and spotted a black beauty elf. It was the same elf which stole my staff. Her eyes were swollen; it seemed she had cried. But she was in a good state.
She wasn't along; there were three other elves behind her. They were looking at me with suspicioning.
"Thanks…bringing my sister staff back…I don't know how to thank you …The stuff means a lot to me. I wouldn't forget it... thanks... thanks very much", said she while tears were rolling on her cheek like a river. She made a quick bow.
How about paying me one million lux as compensate?
"No problem, no problem, "I said with a fake smile and left. Same time a strange feeling overcame into me, today three people had already thanked me. With a satisfied smile, I entered the Oas Inn.

New Game (Reborn as a Reluctant Demon Lord, Book 1)
Portal Fantasy. Isekai. A daydream of nerds everywhere, leaving behind their boring world and living in a fantasy one that is full of adventure. A daydream that became a reality for me and 1000 other Comic-Con attendees. Except for me, it was more of a nightmare. Wanting nothing more than to find a way home, and also saddled with being the world's new [Demon Lord], I found myself trapped in a gamelike world and also somehow a part of the [Hero's] party. So join me as I tell the tale of my struggles. A tale of levels and skills. A tale of cagey game admins and bugs. And a tale of our party's grand quest to defeat... Well... Me. ---- What to expect from this book? 1. A main character who is not overpowered (and instead has to go from near-useless to strong. Not just weak to strong). If you are looking for an OP [Demon Lord] who laughs at his weakling enemies... This isn't for you. 2. A meandering pace as the characters aren't told how a lot of the world works and have to figure it out themselves. (And because there are a lot of characters. Whose idea was it to have a party of 9? I blame Jake) 3. A tragedy. A lot of things are not going to go well for the protagonist. (Not that everything is tragedy all the time. There is humor, laughter, friendship, and even a mascot monster character who got way more popular than I expected. But this is not a story that will leave you uplifted and inspired after every time you read it). ---- Release Schedule and publishing information: Book 1 is complete! I will include a link to book 2 once it has been started. Feel free to give feedback, positive or negative. ---- Other notes Book 1? Yes, this says Book 1. There are probably going to be 3 books. No, the plot as you can guess is not going to be tortured to drag out all the way to book 3. That would be ridiculous. If you can guess the plot of books 2 or 3 at any point before the last chapter of book 1, please use your clairvoyant powers for something more productive. TitusGM? This story is intentionally told under the username TitusGM because the idea is that he was the one actually writing everything down what happened after it all is over. I initially planned to answer everything in character on this site, but that just really didn't work out. If you want an in character response to a comment, simply prefix it with IC: (I also try to leave that as a reminder in the author's note after each new chapter) Cover art? Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

The First Primordial [DROPPED]
[Story dropped until further notice, I don't currently plan on restarting the story but will leave it as a possible option] During the Creation and before the inception of the Realms, there were 3 beings. Known as Primordials, beings even the God's knew little about that were rumoured to be myths or legends. Follow one of such beings that, given the unflattering name Arthur and the species of Demon, must figure out his place within the realms and find his fellow Primordials. Spending the beginning of creation within what will be called The White Realm then spending an unknown amount of time screwing around in the Demon Realm. Once he finally begins his story, he will be acquainted with a world full of grand vistas, religious nuts and floating rocks which will remove whatever little common sense he had remaining. Of course, there will be no shortage of trouble that will complicate things that (due to a poor ability in making good first impressions) will cause more than a few worlds changing events. These events include the destruction of a church and minor religion, including the death of that religion's God, messing with the reincarnated people and even introducing his own reincarnators along with the slight involvement of a war between the Demon Realm and the Creation Realm. Slow burn story; expect the story to be long with plot being introduced as it goes along. The story will include a main character with an actual mind and personality that will create, learn, and even destroy as the story progresses with an emphasis on what experiencing the other side of most novels, a perspective on that one whimsical god that brings the protagonist from one world to another that is only ever mentioned in the starting chapter. [PS- This will be my first time writing, so advice, tips and critiques will be appreciated. The release schedule is a bit iffy and unreliable but will mostly be every Sunday]
